  1. I'm going to suggest that you may have low hot oil pressure, or a bad safety switch. Try jumpering the oil pressure cut-off behind the EGR and see if the problem persists.
  2. Yep 3:50 gears. If it was limited slip you would see the L before '50' 3 L 50
  3. NGK V-power all the way, every day. That number supercedes their old nomenclature UR-4, and works great in my truck.
  4. You're not wrong, but in your case (351HO only) the choke heater is pulled in by a relay... Have a look at your EVTM.
  5. Sorry,... I get into a lot of threads and I was looking at your name, and not your sig.
  6. I leave the barb in the rubber fitting and put vacuum line over, with a collar of coloured shrink tubing. But, Vivek or someone recently pointed out a company that sells silicone vacuum tube in a whole spectrum of colours. If I had more time I'd go search it out....
  7. Gary, that connector fits the (S) receptacle on the 3G. (between the regulator plug and charge stud)
  8. No. It MUST go to the stator socket on the 3G or ta alternator won't work at all.
  9. Splicing the shunt is not a good idea. But we all know this truck has been hacked up over time.
  10. I said multiple places, because in the EVTM they just lay the circuits out so they are easy to see, it looks nothing like the actual harness. The pictogram (I won't even begin to call it a schematic) C610 -one plug- is shown in four places.
  11. It's over by the fender relay and regulator. Red, orange, Lt green, yellow.
  12. https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2024/04/microsofts-phi-3-shows-the-surprising-power-of-small-locally-run-ai-language-models/ Everybody is cramming AI ahead of earnings calls. .
  13. Gary doesn't have the 1980 EVTM broken out into separate images that I can paste a URL into the insert image tab, so you're gonna have to deal with screen shots, sorry... There's a good description of the connector and location given. Maybe somebody with a first year Bronco can help.
  14. Did you look at the illustrations at the end of the chapter? A is beside the windshield, B behind the door, C in front of the cap window and D at the rear corner....
  15. I don't see many tilt wheels in manual trucks.
  16. My phone puts words in my mouth all the time!
  17. The 3.8 has the 8.25" C-C The 3.0 is 7"....
  18. Yep, the fan lowers and the lights dim a little, when idling in cold winter time. Gentlemen, I need some input to choose a right an reliable model from a renowned manufacturer. As well as for a V-belt pulley model. There are so much choices and brands out there! This 1G is running since 80’s and the last thing I want is to replace it with something that will not last. As I already said, not looking for a bargain, willing to pay the fair value for a solid product. BTW, not looking neither for a chrome $ look. I understand that the 95A (7”) is the recommended one in my case. Go for it. But to be frank (just curious), I don’t understand why a 130A could not fit. There’s plenty space, the top would be bolted a the same place: Why the lower “arched” bracket could not change angle and accommodate it? Or maybe a different tensioner could do the job? In other words, why going from 7” to 8” seems difficult, maybe some other wider dimensions I don’t understand? The bigger body of the 130A limits your adjustability if you use the short 7" pivot. You can try it. It MIGHT work on a Windsor. I can assure you that you don't want to use a 7" 130A on a 385 V-belt engine. There never was a 3G with a V-belt, but ALL alternator shafts are 17mm, so the pulley swaps across. Be mindful that depending on the pulley and the 3G you might need a shim washer behind the already short pulley. Here, 5/8 washers are a sloppy fit, enough that our 16mm equivalent (5/8") will fit fine over a 17mm shaft. Any more questions?
  19. Good point. I don't know that mine had that hard a life.but it is definitely in a harsher environment than my PowerHorse. Ya, unfortunately for me my RV had had some winter miles on her. The underslung generator position I'm sure is perfectly fine in better climates. The replacement circuit board I bought had some upgrades over the original, one of which was a complete gel coat or similar clear coating that protected it. Snowbirds for a reason....
  20. Okay, I didn't realize that it was something common. TIE is excellent, and Maniac Electric Motors is a great source for starter & alternator needs. 💡
  21. Intermittent wipers, the knob turns to the left (counterclockwise) Stealing the knob and wiper speed governor from a Bronco is a popular upgrade. It fits any truck....
