  1. There is a grade 9, but I haven't seen one on a vehicle except a race car, in forever... I'm saying screw the book and get some u-bolts that will work to hold the sway bar bushing to the axle housing the way it needs to be. You're hung up about bs that doesn't matter at all. Is this a concours restoration????
  2. 35-50 lb ft? Don't try that with a fine pitch, it's WAY too much. Remember, it's clamping force, not torque you care about.... Again, do I need to do the math for you, or can you figure it out yourself?
  3. The 5.0 pump is too high a pressure and not nearly a gallon a minute, like the 460 spec.

It's not hard from an android All I have is a $175 phone and I'm an admin w/ 17,000 posts. 🤣 Click the second (orange) button. Click big, or large size at the bottom of the right side of the drop down menu. Click choose from my device, and then navigate to your photos on your phone. Select the photo and click "insert image" It'll take a bit to load to the server, and then the window goes away and you're back in the reply screen. If you need a step by step on dash removal we can find you one here on the forum.
  5. You're right Matt, but low pressure for EFI is still more than a 4180 can handle. The poster may have to do like Gary and replace the vapor separator up on top of the intake behind the coil with a return regulator set to 5psi. I'm sorry, but the exact Holley number that Gary used escapes me ATM. It's certainly posted in multiple threads....
  6. Welcome to the Forum! Yes, the hot fuel handling system can be quite problematic, and not many know of it's various iterations. 83-84 and 85-86 control those pumps differently. '87 was a "one year wonder" and those sender/pump assemblies are VERY rare. You have a fantastic parts store! Senders went from 10-70 to 160-15 ohms beginning in '87 because the instruments changed from thermal gauges to what is essentially a stepper motor attached to the needle.
  7. It's a fine thread bolt. You can't imagine how much tension you can get on a fine thread bolt, vs coarse. It's clamping force you care about. Do I have to go look up the numbers?
  8. OMG Looking at that diff gives me nightmares! 😂😂😂
  9. Welcome Dave! 6.9 is a stone reliable engine. Though I've never installed a turbo on one myself, it does wake them up. I'm sure you need that on the continental divide. I might have been tempted to swap the 7.3 given how easy it is to make power with one of those.
  10. It just holds the sway bar mount, right? Any spring shop should be able to bend one for you. The size is a bit odd, but I imagine a 3/8 x 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 bolt would also work, -given the dimensions- with a little persuasion. Clamping bolts like this distort quite a bit when you tighten them anyhow. ETA: https://www.uboltsdirect.com/product/3-8-u-bolts-round-38-x-3-34-inside-width/
  11. George and I have quite the conversation on YouTube. He had really helpful advice
  12. Did you guys ever meet up with Nick and George? I really appreciated his advice when I was updating the sound system in my truck.
  13. The cheap (inexpensive) bar top style epoxy arrived. I'm going to try to get by the boat store to get white pigment, but tomorrow and Wednesday are booked solid with doctors, possibly another MRI, my annual dentist, and a follow-up w/ the sports medicine guy about building more strength up in my left knee (the one that has a 22 year old torn MCL) But, if they're going to replace it, I don't really see the point. 🤷‍♂️
  14. That's great news! I hope the shocks aren't overwhelmed, but I suppose that's easy enough to deal with.
  15. You just need to extend the pickup. The sender doesn't tend to work as well as when it's in a 19 gallon tank, but if you get it right at least the bottom half of the tank reads correctly.
  16. I have moved away from Spectra and on to Liland. Their powder coating is tough as nails and the fit is better IMO. My flailing driveshaft beat the hell out of my side tank and it didn't peel or chip.
  17. All good questions, Matt. 🙂
  18. Those say van, and if you look at the 4th photo it sure looks like they are for a semi-floating axle like a D61. I don't think those '90's style wheel covers will fit over your 350 rear hubs.
  19. How wide are the springs on your Bronco? If the axle perches of a 150/Bronco setup won't handle them it's going to prove frustrating, but I wish you the best. 👍
  20. Today it rained in the morning (and it's pizzing down now) but I managed to R&R the pinion -i didn't trust the crush collar- I assembled the carrier and lubed all the bearings with STP. I got the carrier installed with a 0.010 shim to the right. Play seems right, at 0.012", but I have to pattern it. My knees just couldn't handle any more. Hopefully it looks good, I can button it up and fill it. I have a hard drive magnet epoxied to the 'sump'. I'll drive it 15-20 miles and see how hot it gets. If it's good, I'll take it home and get to work.
  21. That's very kind of you to share! 👍 Every bit of documentation we get fills another chunk in the wall. 😉
  22. You're the one that wants to have a get together near Carlisle PA?
  23. I was hoping to fix my axle but it rained all morning. I'm still waiting for it to dry up a bit. 🤷‍♂️
