  1. Thanks Gary! Amazon tomorrow, they're saying "by 10 pm", but I really don't want to be out in that mess pulling my carb (especially after being cold and wet all night) Monday's supposed to be sunny with a high of 40. I suppose that is my window of opportunity. Then the rain moves in.... if you trust the forecast.
  2. Sorry I got very busy and had truck trouble this morning. Let me go dig up some specific numbers for your vehicle....
  3. More of a 'What Happened To Your Truck Today'... On my way from work this morning and I went to switch tanks. The truck hiccuped and blew it's Powervalve. It's 13 years old at this point, and I probably should have been more on top of maintenance (it certainly doesn't owe me anything) but the truck is pig rich and won't idle. At least it's manual that I can heel & toe. No more old school speed shops around here and none of the chains have a 7.5 or higher available through the warehouse. It's going to be a fun couple of days of 3.5 mpg and fogging for mosquitoes in the snow/slush storm that's about to envelope us. And if I wasn't busy enough last night, the first significant slippery event of the year is always amateur hour where every unaccustomed driver does stupid things and wins stupid prizes. 🏆. 😣 I need to go dig out my farm boots and hi-viz Grunden bibs....
  4. You don't like the button, but with an automatic column the key will only come out in park. I asked about the key because the only non-destructive way I know to get the cylinder out is to have it in the Run position There are simple ways to defeat the lock cylinder. I won't discuss that on the forum..
  5. Thanks for that! I haven't looked in probably two decades. The more you know! 🌠
  6. You asked about an "HVAC control switch E1AH-19D961". Please read How To Decode Ford Part Numbers as you read the # off the part, probably expecting it to be a part number, and then only read part of it. But according to the cross ref: E1AH 19D961-AA ID # crosses to Motorcraft # YH-379 which is part # E1AZ 19B888-A E1AH 19D961-BA ID # crosses to Motorcraft # YH-380 which is part # E1AZ 198BBB-A You can look those part numbers up on the page at Documentation/HVAC/HVAC Systems.
  7. Welcome! You've got the first year T-19 with hydraulic clutch. Let's go see about your part...
  8. I don't know if Marti can reproduce these things if you can provide documentation that it's legit It might be an option. I've never had to do it
  9. This might take a while.🙄 I have to get her back over the guardrail... 🙃
  10. 9a589 is a generic part# for the spacer under the carb. (these sketches are deliberately universal) I can look for the specific part for your truck in a bit (I know Gary is busy) But right now I'm collecting a wreck on the side of a highway.. 😄
  11. Okay, here's an exploded view with the 9447 gaskets on either side of the EGR plate under the carb.
  12. Happy Birthday CJ! Congratulations, that IS quite a milestone I will look closer at the gaskets. BRB....
  13. As I recall the throttle cable made a big loop (up?) on these engines. I never had one so perhaps someone who does can explain it and maybe even post a picture for you? I do think that's the correct number for your Bronco.
  14. Just deadhead a Fuel pressure gauge at the carburetor connection and start the truck with the fuel left in the float bowl
  15. It looks like 42ish inches is correct for an '85 EFI with automatic. (You have automatic???) Anyway this is the correct part # according to Ford. https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-cable-assy-throttle-control_e5tz-9a758-a.html?vin=&make=Ford&model=Bronco&year=1985&submodel=&extra1=8%20Cyl%205.0L&extra2=3-Speed%20Automatic%20Transmission%20C6&filter=() This is JBG's listing https://shop.broncograveyard.com/mobile/Throttle-Cable-1985-90-Bronco-1983-91-F-Series/productinfo/30792A/
  16. Glad you've joined Lee! We always love to hear and share what we've learned about our trucks. The Vanilla Gorilla is very entertaining! 😄 I'm glad to hear your kids are into it.
  17. Welcome! http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/uploads/6/5/8/7/65879365/waving_orig.gif The throttle cable on my 460 is 23" long. There's not much to it.... I'm not sure what the EFI 5.0 uses, but I bet it isn't this.
  18. Thanks! It could be useful for others in the future, reading this thread.
  19. Jeff, do you have a number for that NAPA harness connector? That's the one plug I haven't been able to identify (and it's not available in the Motorcraft pigtail catalog)
  20. I guess you're good as long as you have some way to make sure it stays in the Park position without any indicator in the cluster. Did it come with keys?
  21. As I recall our local hospital used the same type of thing to print (emboss) patient information onto documents. These were normal credit card sized with notches on the bottom to be kept in a Rolodex. Source: my grandmother worked in the hospital administration until her retirement in the late '70's Triple carbon was a thing back then... 👴
  22. Okay. I think we have a winner! (Edit for side by side comparison)
  23. Embossed rivets always. If you know an auto body shop they would have them. 💡 (but you'd still need a proper tag) I can check my book when I get off around 7am
  24. You know.... I'm going to suggest that that tag came in the owners manual when first delivered. The dealers would use a carbon printer like an old credit card machine to get all that information onto their service invoices.
  25. My first thought was that it looked like a buck tag, but mine are more rectangular. (rad support, firewall, front of bed, and they're all screwed on in one corner. Maybe it's just because I have a newer body style, but I don't think Ford would change those things.
