  1. I agree, NOS might not like today's gas. And, the diaphragm might be old and brittle. The Carter should be good.
  2. According to Wikipedia is it just a likeness of some unknown man w/a guitar. But here's a better pic w/o the old man in it:
  3. 4. Another example of the trucks in the PNW being nice and affordable. Wow!
  5. Yes, the window motors are just wimps. Just barely able to lift that glass when new, and when the window runs get hard, the grease runs out, etc they just don't do the job. But, I still think I'm going back electric on Dad's truck. However, it might be novel to have cranks as most kids have never used them. So, ......As for the transfer case, it is such a simple fix that it really should have been standard. Sharp edges of hard metal against soft metal is not a good idea.
  6. It is in amazing shape! And, it shows the door panels and dash panels I've been thinking about for Dad's truck.
  7. I can take a pic with the t-case and show him what's needed. Hard to believe BW didn't do that. So simple.
  8. Jonathan says it is for both 1345's and 1356's. Yes, I can easily add the rod to the end. But, I'd need to go down and pick it up, bring it back and tack it, then take it back. Easy to do, just have to coord w/Scotty. And, measure how large the rod should be.
  9. No prob. I was just worried you'd order the Type F. And your call on whether you do a new thread or not. No charge anywhere for the number of threads.
  10. Do you have the decoder ring to tell you what those are? I'm not sure we do on here.
  11. There won't be a rush. Its the one in Big Blue, and when I pull him down for EFI and that ZF I want the 1345 refreshed and the mod added to the oil pump arm. Do you know if he does the mod?
  12. I've started reading a bit about tracking social media shares, and found a site where I can sign up and automatically get the results, or manual search. So I did some checking of the ones I'd been listing before, and they are identical. But, notice that you can click the drop-down on any of them, as I've done on the forum itself (garysgaragemahal.com) and get more detail. So we've had 616 shares on FB, there have been 327 reactions and 75 comments to those shares. And, notice that there are NO Pinterest pins. NADA. Apparently Ford guys aren't into Pinterest. So, we could easily delete that button. Anyway, I'm still learning. So if you have suggestions, ideas, guidance please let me know.
  13. Yes, I think it is not compatible. The Hemmings article I referenced above says: So you want some form of Dexron III or Mercon V.
  14. Bubba sure gets around. But the bolts being loose can cause problems with the alignment of the mechanism. Those motors are just barely adequate when new, so it doesn't take much to stop them. By the way, is James still working out of his garage? May have a BW1345 for him to go through.
  15. Delco - I see that you posted: And I tried to respond: But there was no post to respond to, so it bounced. What happened?
  16. If the choke not working is an issue, then yes you'll have an issue. If your truck came equipped with a 351HO, meaning the Holley 4bbl carb, then it should have had a choke relay, as shown below. If so, then you are looking for the white/black wire.
  17. The answer to your question, Vinny, is stuff I don't think you should see. "Goodone" shared a link that may have malware in it. So far that and my responses to that post is all that's there, but over time it is where other spam, or even posts that use profanity, will be placed. (I'll email whomever posts profanity and ask them to edit it out, but after a few days if they don't I'll have to remove the post.)
  18. Wiring diagrams are here for the seat belt warning: Electrical/EVTM/1981 EVTM/Warning Indicators & Seat Belt Warning. And here's the diagram for the ash tray light: Electrical/EVTM/1981 EVTM/Instrument Illumination. As for the seat belt switch, it should be in the driver's buckle with a pair of wires down by where it bolts to the floor.
  19. Interesting! 30 MPG is twice what I'm dreaming of getting on Big Blue.
  20. You might want to read this post, or the whole thread for that matter. As for the e-brake, sometimes that moves the shoes out so far it lets the pistons get into a rusted area of the brake cylinder, and causes leaks to start.
  21. Trent Alexander, a FB friend of mine as well as at least one more on here, messaged me to ask for a part number for a 460's exhaust system. So I went to our Exhaust Systems page and found it a dog's breakfast. (Ask a Brit.)So, I've now thoroughly revised the page, including all of the parts information from the catalog. Thirty seven pages of parts lists. And, I've included Ford's how-to, albeit slightly revised to fit with tabs rather than sections of the catalog. Anyway, please take a look and let me know if it works for you.
  22. Thanks for the . We've tried to make this simple, clean, logical, and w/o adverts, and it is good to know that we are achieving that. And, we do have a very good community. Or family. And, we try to be "family friendly", which is important to me. In fact, on Facebook I have a rule that someone that uses the "f" word gets blocked. I don't just hide the comment, I block the user. That sure is cutting the number of such posts that I see down on the FB pages I follow. But, you have a very good point - a lot of the poor manners that happens on FB is because there are so many people on those pages that some think they are anon. Here, we get to know each other and behave like friends.
  23. Did some plug weld tests and I think the 1/4" holes will work the best Gary. Hopefully I can get this these sides assembled next weekend. I don't think you'll even want to dress them.
  24. The "where" question is very valid as the prices vary dramatically by the region of the country. For instance, in the Pacific Northwest these trucks are cheap and in good shape. In the North East they are expensive and rusted hulks. But I dunno about VA. It would seem like that's far enough from snow or ice that rust isn't prevalent. Anyway, here is OK that would probably be a $2500 truck. It is in better shape than Rusty, which was an '81 F150 regular cab long bed 4wd, and I got $2500 for him. Yes, yours is 2wd, but it is in better shape.
