  1. How loud do you want it? I have a giant school bus muffler with dual 2 1/2 in and 3" out. I think it's from a 1975 international 455. I wish they still made it.
  2. As an engineer you understand that there is no such thing as "too much" heat shedding capacity. But that's also heat you're wasting (also out the manifolds...) Glad your better half was able to help. Extra hands are always welcome.
  3. You might try a different pitman arm. A little change in geometry there will change how progressive or regressive the steering is.
  4. What year is that clip? I'm glad you were able to get the radiator support sorted out. My cliche on the forum is. 'Progress is GOOD! , and you are definitely moving right along...
  5. Look here: https://www.garysgaragemahal.com/1985-evtm.html
  6. Here it is in the palm of my hand lol. It's all I got...an old picture. Have to measure the hole I guess. It looks like you could get a caliper in the hole.
  7. This oval plug showed up I believe for the 1983 model year, or whenever the feedback carbs showed up. A large wiring harness passed through the firewall (also for the later 1985-1986 5.0 EFI equipped trucks). If you happen to get a truck that didn't have a feedback carb, then there was a large oval rubber plug put in this hole where the EFI/Feedback harness would normally be. My 1984 F150 had one from the factory: These oval plugs are really hard to find, and they're desirable for the guys that swap out a feedback carb for a regular carb with DSII ignition. If you remove this harness, you need that oval plug to fill the hole. I used to grab them at the junkyard when I came across them, but I ended up mailing them out to guys that needed them. Not sure what the part number is...it's surely to be a junkyard only item. Do you have dimensions? This doesn't exist on my Bricknose...
  8. Above the DS valve cover? The cowl access plug?
  9. If this topic is "electrical confusion and mayhem," then post all your electrical problems here.
  10. One of the things that annoys me the most about this forum, is that it opens the reply in a new tab, always! I would complain about how it behaves from Gmail, but that's them, so I just long click and 'open in browser'
  11. I've heard that many times but never bothered to look it up and read what he did. So I did a quick Google and didn't find it. Do you know the year? When you actually get it done you don't need to boast. 😉 https://www.460ford.com/threads/scott-j-edges-out-mckoan-and-will-be-no-lower-than-3rd.102804/
  12. "a grand here, and a grand there, pretty soon it adds up to real money!"
  13. I figured it out on Big Blue. I found out that my insurance company at the time, State Farm, would give me a couple thousand for Big Blue, and "maybe more if I had comps". So I went looking for comps and Hagerty had them. I contacted them and they said they'd insure it for what I have in it, so I documented it. For those of you married, probably want to keep this well hidden....

  16. Help me help you. I have NO idea where you are.. My rear axle in in a zillion pieces. But I can read a schematic, and know these trucks. Show some pictures of your questions. Make it big enough that I recognize exactly what you mean.
  17. Don't forget to mention that Scottie came in right behind John Kasse at the Engine Masters challenge.... 💡
