  1. I love this truck! Looks great, and you've done an amazing restoration in a relatively short amount of time. Wow! Just WOW! Wonderful job. That power steering pump bracket looks very well done. Was the old one broken? And what is "Mike-Sanders" fat?
  2. I agree with Jim. Read and plan first, then build. One resource is Scotty at Parkland Performance Auto Machine. I bought a short-block, an engine w/o heads or pan, from him and may not have been able to beat his price much by having the work done locally. However, shipping heavy things is expensive, especially to far northern Norway, so I can see the desire to do it locally.
  3. Not bad for the price. Like the wheels, and it looks straight. But the A/C compressor is gone.
  4. Have you pulled the codes? The ECU should be telling you what it thinks the problem is.
  5. Shaun - I don't know what I was thinking. It needs support. Bill - These big engines need big batteries, even with the PMGR starters. So I certainly want to go back with the monster I have. Jim - Thanks for the offer to grab a pic, but I think I've had an epiphany. The old battery tray is rusty but was working. It bolts to fender where the later one does, comes up under the fender liner, and also bolt to 16A236 - Reinforcement Assy (Front Fender Apron To Radiator Support). So, why couldn't I put those back and sandwich the fender liner 'tween the old and the new? I'll surely have to cut the ears off the old one where it pokes through the fender liner so the j-rods can grab it, but that's no biggee. Thoughts?
  6. So you could see MacGyver in action on the bypass valve Also don't know if you would of liked the music I was playing, Outlaw Country this time Weather still has me out of work tomorrow so I will put the valve together and do the final testing of the valve and take for a test drive. Dave ---- Yes, and yes. I saw MacGyver in action, and I'm not a fan of country music. But, my "I wish I was there" meant I wish I am as far along on at least one of my projects as you are. However, "done" isn't in my vocabulary, so I'm with you on that.
  7. Bob - Can you use coupling nuts, both as spacers as well as to accept bolts from the bracket? On the metal trouble light, I threw mine away decades ago after I burned the interior of whatever I was working on.
  8. The ladder in the background explains how you got to the come-along to pick up the engine, but it looks like you had to be standing on the top of the ladder to do it. Yes? I hope not, but if so I'll tell my story. So, how did you keep the strap (tree saver?) from slipping? Is there a knot or something we can't see that prevented that?

  10. I guess it doesn't really matter anyway because E27B = 1982 (really 1983) Ranger. Very true. But I'm perplexed that I can't even find it. Oh well, as you say it doesn't matter.
  11. Gary, Bit of a catch-22 situation at the moment. Gas is just a hair over 70 cents a Liter here now...the cheapest it has been in 30 years I'm quite sure. What a wonderful time to buy something that gets what, 8mpg?...lol. We were quite excited and made the deal with a bit of extra enthusiasm as we figured we'd get to possibly take it a even a little further this summer than we had originally planned. A week goes by and the economy is all but shut down, I've taken approx a 30% pay cut, and we can't go anywhere...lol. Still, Mrs. Rembrant is super excited regardless and she keeps reminding me that this his/hers project is an excellent distraction even if we only get to use it very little this summer. It is super cool to see her so excited. (She does not get very excited about my old Bullnose...lol). It will keep us busy. Annd...I got notice today that an order from LMC that I've been waiting a month for has finally shipped. I'll be back at the Bullnose shortly;). Yes, that is a Catch-22 thing. Unfortunate. But, it won't last forever, and meanwhile you both have things to do that you want to do. So, stay at home having fun, and you'll have it ready to go when you actually can go. And that reminds me, I didn't look at my extra air cleaner box yesterday. Was I supposed to? Or were you going to ensure that yours isn't in the storage compartment? I forgot.
  12. Yes, it does look nice. But, I bought a running truck for less than that!
  13. These "teething problems" are for those have gotten that far. Loose shock bolts? They are laying in a tote awaiting installation. Loooooong way to go. So, Dave, while I am sorry for your problems, I wish I was there.
  14. Quite a bit of news, actually. To quote Jim, progress is good! It really looks good inside. You'uns are going to really enjoy it.
  15. Battery dimensions are below, from Jegs: L W H 56: 10 x 6 1/16 x 8 3/8 65: 12 1/16 x 7 1/2 x 7 9/16 According to that I should be ok with the later battery tray and my big battery. Will have to look tomorrow to see how to brace it. Should be able to figure something robust out.
  16. I don't find that number in the MPC. In fact, I don't even find "10279", much less the whole thing.

  18. Can't find that number in the MPC. As you can see below, it gets close. Instead of E2TZ 9A350-C there is an E2TZ -D and an E2UZ-C.

Here was my issue... I bought the aftermarket bracket. It had to be modified a little, the throttle linkage rubbed against the frame. It came with two return springs, which is too powerful(I could not push it to full throttle with my hand), so I'm using one. My original cable has a broken plastic sleeve inside its return spring, but the issue was simply connecting it to the linkage. I considered just getting an end-assembly and cutting mine. But I found this in the carb's box... So problem solved, I think. I'm going to cut the plastic sleeve and return spring off my cable and it should work fine with the aftermarket bracket. I'll find out tomorrow. I also replaced a couple of the washers on the manifolds with larger ones, where I could. And here's a preview with the air cleaner. Color suggestions? Options are black, aluminum(aka aluminium:nabble_smiley_evil:) or the same blue as the block... Yes, the stud is the way to go. I think it'll work. Color? Not aluminum as that is too much of the same thing. I think I like blue.
  22. I think the title is wrong, so I changed my response. 80/86 F 100/350.U150 EOTZ 9280-A White symbol on dial
