  1. It doesn't really function the same way a pump submerged in the fuel does. It takes a LONG time for a mechanical pump with no prime to suck from 16' away
  2. Bradley, is that your Plymouth Rock hen?
  3. Canadian truck's are different (even imports from Ontario assembly, are different than those sold there) Things like no EGR on 300's. Etc.... My truck is a lowly "Custom" but 37 years later, I'm grateful there isn't more 'features' to screw up
  4. Mechanical pumps can't prime the carb, and they suck if you let one tank run out(remember my gauges didn't work at all with Metermatch) But I am adept at noticing fuel starvation and very quick to flip the switch! Electric pumps worked in millions of trucks for billions of miles. Don't mess with success...
  5. The dimensional tolerance, metallurgy and surface finish was nothing like it is today. Why do you think that cars use 0W20 oil today? It's not just to reduce pumping losses.... 💡
  6. It also seems to be a FB scam... 😡
  7. Christ the Savior. (we aren't supposed to talk about religion here, sorry)
  8. Comp definitely had a batch of soft cores years ago. But they could have solved it by checking brinell or Rockwell and sending the batch out for heat treat. But they jumped the shark, got bought out, and won't listen to the guys who had been grinding their cams for decades.... Proper break-in involves plenty of oil, with ZDDP, and varying the rpms for at least 1/2 hour. (Don't let it drop below 2k and you'll be okay)
  9. Those wagon wheels are near Hickory, way up near the 40 & 321 crossroads. $50 ea NIB is a deal! But if you want, we can find a way! Otherwise, Matt???
  10. TJ do you have a Facebook or some way Sylvia can interact directly with you? Email? She's blowing up my texts with questions I can't answer.
  11. Those wagon wheels are in NC, $200 for the lot.... Maybe Dave or Matt? But anyhow, I'm going to try to get her to sign up, just so she can interact with TJ who is mere 1/2 hour from her in Duck Ditch.
  12. Lucia Pineda was an indentured Honduran house keeper. We (as kids in the early '70's) watched "stuff" unfold down there, like volcanos, landslides and coup's. TJ, name what you want, because I know if it's out there she WILL find it.
  13. I permalinked her to this thread. You don't understand "We had a slave, her name was Lucia" This is fn personal now!!!
  14. Do you mean an inch taller on wheels or tires? You should look to see what tire available in 16" wheels. I don't know what is better. One inch bigger rims will net you 1/2" with the same sidewall. 235/85 R 16 is a 32" tire but would ride too rough on a 150. I have awoken Cerberus! Let's see what happens....
  15. Yes, spoked means Wagon Wheels, but the ones with round holes are aluminum. I think you'd be happier with 7" (at least there's a FAR better selection of tires in that 220--240 range than 185-220) "Poverty" dog dish wheel covers on steelies might look great on your truck. (But I AM a little biased!)
  16. 6" wide Alcoa's? You DO want the skinny pizza cutter look! Thanks TJ, it's about time to wake the my sister and put her on the hunt.
  17. You care, and it shows! No one can ask for more than that.
  18. I know what he does. Costa Rica because it's been a CIA stronghold forever and there are lots of prostitution tourists, so lots of flights and 'good' airports.
  19. It's Not salt, it's water (which is a pretty small molecule) WD-40 is thin for a reason and it will creep into pinch welds and laps like (you know, and I can't say it here)
  20. Mag chloride eats aluminum trailers like nobody's business. Truckers are suing in my state. Yeah, magnesium is worse than sodium in this case. He needs to use oil, then cover with the sheep grease...
  21. There are three orifices available (coded Red, White and Blue!) 40, 60 & 90 thou I believe. Depending on how much recirculation you need. The in-tank pump is pressure limited.
  22. "this thing" is the intake filter and bypass muffler. Yeah, that looks like it. All you have to do is follow the hose from the A.I.R. pump.
  23. Alright, I'm calling in the bloodhound. There will be no rock unturned if I know ANYTHING about someone I've known for 59+ years (She's just as "special" as I am, but mechanics is not her jam)
