  1. IDK Gary. The fill plug says use type H, which is superceded by Mercon V. RP seemed to work well for me

  3. We use this forklift to move the containers around. I think it'll have no problem with the 460. Gary's pile with the cleaned up cross member. Bill's dash all wrapped up
  4. Today's the day to get this engine out of my truck. Can't find a cherry picker sooooo.... The weather sucks today. Think the throw out bearing was a little dry???
  5. I wish I could find someone for the 10 bolt, disc brake, dually, superduty rear. Those are rare as hens teeth, and worth some $ But as heavy as it is there's no sending It anywhere.
  6. You see I used quotes on the switch. Yes, look at the circuit.
  7. Computer Controlled Dwell, or Push Start. Two kinds of EEC-IV modules.
  8. I replaced the beltline on my truck today. I wirebrushed and painted Gary's crossmember. (Not because I expect Rustoleum is good enough for him, but because I don't want to box it) After I asked *everybody* if they wanted the carpet in the F-450..... The wrecker driver Theo takes one look at the truck (at 9:00 last night) and says this cab is beautiful! I could have used that carpet. Can I have the interior trim and headliner? SURE! How much for the front bumper, grille, headlights, etc...? This is the truck that just keeps on giving! I cut a piece out of the utility body to make some taillights for the flatbed. I still need to cut a piece out of the roof to send to Oz. Gary, those are great pictures.
  9. Vacuum canisters "Mercury switch" Yes, that is the remote TFI. Black is CCD, while gray is PS.
  10. I wish you were closer. Got rid of a 4x4 460 E4OD with the dump truck less than two weeks ago. It was a brand new rebuild and torque converter. Plow trucks live a hard life. That one had under 500 miles on it before the cab fell off the truck and they junked it.
  11. I worked in an art store when I was a kid. That's what it's called. I don't think you're slow. I'm just wondering if you think they're worth anything.
  12. You, run out of projects????? ROTFL I like to use soft solder. Then you can measure with calipers. Trying to stick a rule through the plasticine without disturbing it and then reading the rule is iffy at best.
  13. Whatever. As long as the cam doesn't cause the valves to hit because of the dish, there's no way for a stock head to cause too much compression. Edit: unless early C8, C9, or D0VE heads on an early short deck block. 11:1 is not happening on today's pump gas. Except if you have E85 where you live. Then, look out! That is a whole different animal.
  14. My other friend *with a tow truck*.... If you would like to come by tomorrow and roll the truck over so I can cut the frame in half with the 14" gas saw I would welcome you and even offer a cup of coffee.
  15. I went to go cut up the Super Duty today. But amazingly as the flatbed rolled in there was a tremendous accident right in front of the plant. Some kid ran off the road and into the trees. I guess a paying call wins out over favor every time. So, I got my other friend to come tonight, yank the engine out and lift the transmission so I could pull the crossmember. Just getting home. I need a shower
  16. And.... What pistons do you have? Sure you can put everything from a 90 top end on an earlier block. It will fit.
  17. Yes, but no. It's now Parkland Performance Machine, as I noted in the build thread. His site is antiquated and confusing mishmash. Maybe what I know comes from the paid portion. All EFI heads have different intake and exhaust ports than carb. I need to sign off now. Things are too busy here.
  18. No they don't really have larger chambers than D3VE's To be clear, for efi there are E7's & F3's. Both *engines* have *slightly* higher compression than carbed. E7's have a tiny piston dish, and the same deck height as D3. F3's have smaller chambers but the same dish volume as D3.... but are closer to the top of the hole. You can check all this out on Scott's site. Afa efi on carbed heads idk. Price not only makes the CS460-EFI they also make carb intake to EFI plates that fit where the manifold to head junction is. 19. On the trailer???? ROTFLMAO Not mine, not worth my time to bother (rewire the whole trailer) These people only care that they don't get a ticket the four times a year that the trailer moves. To put the boat in, and take it out at the end of the season.
  20. Yeah, I had to replace a trailer light yesterday up at the yard that had the dreaded IDC halfway up inside the frame rail. WTH are people thinking when they KNOW that they are going to be backing it down into salt water?
  21. There is no earth on a boat, and if I start talking cathode & anode people think I'm referring to a chunk of zinc. I told this guy two months ago that I should just tear it all out and start over. My God some of this wiring is screwed up. There was a wire nut on a cluster of nine wires behind the dash. It was so full of green and white corrosion it cracked the nut. Cutting one wire back, it is still black inside three feet away where it runs through one of the deck frames. Yes, *this* is 'ground'......
