  1. Mine's an '87 but I'll be glad to take pictures of the harness.
  2. Yes, you're right. Doesn't your daughter work up that way? I only know from a map. But if course I don't think James Island is like that. There's always Amazon if you don't need it right this minute I can get stuff in the afternoon, or for $3 I can get it between 4-6 AM since they've opened a new hub near me.
  3. I have four (plus my cordless one). I suggested to Shaun that he gets a second one for that very reason. I don't know much about the area, but my sister's headed back down to Charleston today. (I know she's close to a Lowe's) Still a good deal. Just don't buy the cheap Warrior ones.
  4. I saw you suggested glue. 💡 Welding rusty sheet metal just makes more holes. Looks like he'll need that outer floor tip down to the flange, that Tabco doesn't make. (Raybuck is ok, but it's not galvanized or annealed) Hopefully the seat support Z strips are okay. Zirconia flap discs are on sale at Horrid Fate. You'll certainly need a few to get a good bite.
  5. Have a safe trip. Enjoy your family and setting Lil Blue straight this holiday.
  6. Somewhere I've got a small tote full of C13, SCSI, parallel cables and those odd old USB with the square end for printers and such. Why? I've got no idea. 🤷‍♂️
  7. It's not logical or rational, it's just a chatbot. Neural networks and quantum computing are a thing now. It WILL become sentient. I DO NOT welcome our robot overlords. Hopefully you had a spare cable at home (in that box of random serial cables and arcane connectors
  8. Well, you weren't crazy. Stinks that your starter didn't last, but at least you can get by until you change it. Thank you for closing the loop.
  9. If you look at the diagram, C190 and C128 are there in any case. It just depends on where Ford chose to put the jumper. So I'm not really understanding why you think there would be a cut wire or empty connector. I do know the factory clutch switch jumper (used with an automatic transmission) is a single plug with a loop of R/LB wire sticking out.
  10. This is why I arm myself with screenshots of the listing and my purchase window. I make sure the item numbers match. I don't bother with a phone call or online chat. I get someone with authority in my presence before I ever open my phone And I offer to CC them, but never let it out of my hands. Bait and switch is no way to retain customers. Fortunately we have had proactive AG's here in my state for decades. This doesn't go down well when you're a big company like Best Buy.
  11. Really? 1999???? I see a pic of Cory's blue Flareside on the about page, and the sticker image (sans a giant winch bumper or forward camera) at the head of each forum page. What "homepage" is this 'intelligence" looking at?
  12. Yep. I know that. (now) So scratch a clean vanilla Win 10 image that I already have on USB. Then I was trying to load a Surface specific OS version. Microsoft wouldn't allow me to install it on the drive saying there wasn't enough space (this is a NEW 1Tb drive freshly formatted!) I wasn't allowed to create a "recovery disc" for the Surface on a non- Surface desktop, just to get it going. I couldn't put it on a thumb drive and boot from that. If they want people to use their OS they shouldn't make it damn near impossible now that the options are well supported. I don't really need their 365 suite (or whatever it's called today) and I really don't want their cloud. Some random Linux distro is looking more and more attractive.
  13. I just got a scrapped Surface that i replaced the SSD. Microsoft is NOT cooperating with a fresh Win10 install! 😡 I'm sure I'll have to resort to something like CoPilot to figure this out.
  14. It says 10.25" Spicer axle (as does your sig) But Dana/Spicer made the D60/70/80 Ford/Sterling made the 10.25/10.50 axles. CoPilot is not 'intelligent' it just regurgitates what it sees.
  15. "Several eight page microanalyses".... I didn't know you'd published, Gary. Where can I purchase these tomes? I'd like to shelve them in a place of honour, right next to my jar of chicken lips.
  16. OK, I see... I don't have any of these "security switches" in Big Bro. Manual, not clutch safety, nothing. Did someone add a remote start to your truck, Jeff? If so, that would explain why it's bypassed.
  17. If you look at the Duraspark page it says "from start pg. 31" That is page 31... 🤷 Ford definitely had clutch lockout when they went to hydraulic clutch (1984 for your Windsor)
  18. OK, I see... I don't have any of these "security switches" in Big Bro. Manual, not clutch safety, nothing. Maybe that's a Canadian thing? Or some PO just jammed a spare fuse in the clutch safety interlock pigtail? Because it's shown in the '85 EVTM. Edit: . I forgot how Gary had the '85 manual posted...
  19. Interesting article Jim #2! I don't find it too technical, and think Nathan did a good job dumbing it down for the rest of us. Surprised he suggests 'S' is sense in an article highlighting the 2G, when we know 'A' is sense 'I' is ignition on and 'S' is stator with these units. Maybe he's pointing out that other (Delco?) alternators don't follow this convention?
  20. I guess just another thing to consider if trying to use that wave as a signal, Gary I'm very sure the Hall pickup in the stock configuration doesn't reach battery voltage. (Clarity)
  21. Customer complaint "engine rattling" The Honda was completely filled, from the air filter to the snorkel....
  22. Your repair looks good! Now you just have to keep the rodents away. 😅 I have some pics from last week where I pulled 2 gallons of acorns out of an airbox/intake plenum!!!
  23. Have you installed a stock diesel tach cluster or are you considering an aftermarket tach? IIRC the alternator pulley is 3:1 for diesels. How many pulses does the stator output for each alternator revolution? As I recall I had to find a pump housing with the boss for the tach pickup (actually I swiped the housing and pickup+wiring from a wreck)
  24. We had a big discussion about the stator wire on the 2G alternator recently. In fact Gary modified the EVTM diagram to show the correct pin out on the regulator plug. The 'S' wire from the output plug goes to the choke heater on gas engines, but you have a diesel so it's not there. I don't think the stator wire from the regulator plug is going to provide any meaningful pulse you can use for a tach. (but I'm not absolutely sure about that) As i recall retrofitting a tach to an IDI was a challenge involving some hard to find parts.
