I'm sure by now the lower starter bolt needs a helicoil. The distributor is supposed to be connected to manifold vacuum -through a restriction- and the thermal switch in the water neck. If the coolant gets much above (atmospheric) boiling the valve opens applying full manifold, and more timing to increase idle speed and get the water pump turning. Is there no routing diagram and tuning sticker on the rad support?

38 years of untold abuse. It didn't even throw a chunk through the tin cover. I'm sticking with my story.

I put the trashed yoke back on to hold the pinion in place, and I glued the cover back on so I could put lube in. What's the worst that could happen? 🤷‍♂️ The carrier, pinion, ring, spiders and pin are already trashed. No crunchy noises. This rear end is tough.🐂

I don't think so. 🤷‍♂️ The Zf shifts well. I haven't blown a shift since I was a teenager (45 years ago) I noticed a weepy pinion seal a while back. I checked the lube. Made sure it was topped up and had the seal in hand waiting for a clear day when I wasn't literally exhausted. Then one day I backed off to coast through an intersection. Bang! Skid... Roll into a lot and look underneath. Go back to the intersection to see that both wheels locked (this is an open diff) Xxxx it, I've got to go. I was very cautious from there on, but at 0-dark-30 one morning doing about 70 on the Parkway.... BOOM! 😳 And the driveshaft is flailing around!... I dove to the right and rolled off a ramp. I walked back to snatch the driveshaft from the center lane. I looked for my hubcap but just went back to the truck, locked the hubs and got out of there before someone showed up. I'll just keep driving until I can afford the grand worth of parts I need to put this thing back together. 😄

I'm going to order a weld in bung for the cover, because I have to take this back apart when I can afford to put new guts in, so there's no rush. I appreciate it!

(and that's what I do, sitting in my truck all night) So I make recommendations to JBG, Rock Auto, even Amazon. It may be small potatoes, the sales they lose, but you will never see me recommend purchasing something there. And as an admin I REALLY try to remain unbiased.

No, not really. Was the 737 Max-8.that had the AOA anti-stall software in fly-by-wire override executive control from the front seat. The mud daubers on the Airbus are the reason we have "Remove Before Flight" pins in the pitots that should be ,manually removed by the flight crew on their walk-around immediately before taxiing away from the gate.

Maybe that would make Jeff happy? The manual says to reset the radio memory if you've removed power from the head unit or the battery from the vehicle.... If you want to unpair it's pretty much the same as pairing Settings/Bluetooth/set pairing then select the device and press the button.

R&P, carrier, spiders and pin, Timken master install kit, kit with shims. All this is over $1,000 at RA,(I have a additional 5% discount code, so =$50) and I'm going to be driving fwd for the foreseeable future. 😄
