Metric speedometer on a bullnose truck

I tried opening the image in another tab, then copying the address, then pasting the address into the look up the URL bar on the insert image tab. It doesn't work, for me.... -
Just crack the bowls loose and dump it out.,.

Yup!

Enjoy them while they're young and still speaking to you! 😊 Hope the much deserved break is refreshing. (I've found retrospection is always a good reason to go 'home')

5/8-11 x 1/2" long on the Windsors, but the 385's use a little crowsfoot looking clip to hold the flared tubes in place. You can reuse these little clips to hold just about anything in there. Squirt in a glob of red high temp RTV and clamp something.... anything, over it. 💡 One issue I think you'll have (but I don't have a 70's ford truck) is that you'll need to run a remote oil filter. L&L make all kinds of stuff for this swap and JBG is pretty much the Go-To for this kind of thing. Looking forward to the build!

The tubes are reverse flare, but each of them goes into a NPT fitting that is screwed into the manifold itself. I have my DS manifold off and will get you pictures later today if you like. I have participated in literally dozens of these desmog threads, both here (since the revolution) and over on FTE. I know I bought a 10 pack of plugs, and the .666" Welsh plugs from NAPA. if you have an oxy torch and want them both out just use a set of 1/4 NPT like this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/264272181312?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=264272181312&targetid=1645685073328&device=t&mktype=pla&googleloc=1014778&poi=&campaignid=20133407470&mkgroupid=147476396765&rlsatarget=pla-1645685073328&abcId=9312979&merchantid=138373313&gclid=Cj0KCQiAzoeuBhDqARIsAMdH14HcRlIcUKXAwOPcfMPmTS04JphaWdheInlrqqpqna99OrYzQ6LjJiYaAgaXEALw_wcB Edit: You might want to look at this thread too

EFI cam gear still has a space for the eccentric. I've got a mechanical pump, i know it works. A stock cam with zero retard in the timing is plenty spicy on top (for a pickup) If there was that much slop I'm trying to understand how the chain didn't eat the timing cover. Id be a little leery of re- using lifters that old, but it seems that whoever owned that engine 53 years ago stayed on top of oil changes if they are still crowned..

Thanks!

Motorcraft numbers are listed in the MPC, under the Ford p/n

I need to go get ready. Hobbling around and up/down is NOT doing it any favors! Keep Janey from trying to much. 🙏

Have you confirmed the balancer asnt slipped and that TDC #1 is at 0? The first times the charm IMHO. But with a Pertronix instead of DS-II you can't just rap the cap with a screwdriver to get a single pulse from the ignition.

I installed my updated cover and filled the pumpkin. My knee is starting to feel a little better, once I tear the scar tissue loose each morning. I should be able to give the car back and start driving the truck (in FWD) by the weekend, I think.
-
Where does your light put you? There are reasons I'm not interested in MSD. First of which is that if my fuel and timing are good there's no way I should need to light it off three times.
-
That's not going to be cheap. What flavor of pistons/rings/bearings does your machine shop use? How did the cam look? I'm going to suggest a straight up double roller timing set from an 88/ EFI engine.

Conflicting Battery Test results
ArdWrknTrk replied to ratdude747's topic in Bullnose Enthusiasts Forum
I suppose I have selective memory. I've never had one that didn't fit a 320, 351 or 560. It's unfortunate that most people around here aren't more interested in keeping their 300. I think it's a great pickup truck engine. -
And , I'm a lunatic.

I remember But I can't say I have high opinions of most big batch remans, even Motorcraft. There is a saying that I can't repeat here. Maybe try one from DB? -
Oh, how I wish that was true for me!

I'm sure you can find a forum with whatever behavior you like. We occasionally get the guy that really belongs on Pirate 4x4, and even had one that was banned from every truck forum I know of. He eventually made himself persona non grata.... even here. 🙄

I don't think old gas is going to cause a bad timing event. Drain the bowls and fill them with fresh through the two vent stems The engine should idle for at least a minute on that.
