  1. You need to read it as -action- then product-action-then product. It is a lot clearer that way. Scrub in the scuff 'n clean Rinse and dry Wipe on the plastic & leather prep Sand Wipe on the plastic & leather prep Spray a light coat of colour 5 minutes to tack Spray on a wet coat of colour within 15-20 minutes and dry to touch for 30 minutes
  2. Steps 2 & 4) say 38353, which is the 16oz aerosol. Step 3) Yes. But P400, the international grit rating system.
  3. I don't think the heads changed from the D3TE until the E7TE (EFI) heads that were used beginning in '88. I do know that they all used the thermactor passages (humps) in the exhaust ports. I'm interested in what you find!
  4. The 300 is literally a tractor engine, it should be NO problem. (Maybe you're asking in relation to the transmission noise?) If that's the case, I have no AOD advice.
  5. "I no NOTHING!" about auto tranny whines but what's on the trailer? I drove the Blazer version in VT when my transfer case burnt up. We hauled two sleds on mountains without any trailer brakes and no problem.
  6. Once I discovered him I watched his whole back catalog. He used to do it all by hand. He definitely has that investment casting down!
  7. I know that "Reeeeee" well! Quite perplexing. You wouldn't think something as vicious as oil could reach a pitch that high. But I suppose if there's enough pressure.... ***I've had hydraulic lines 'scream' when they rupture. Roll with it, the answer will come, you're very observant and know these trucks well
  8. I think it's one of those "If you have to ask, this isn't for you" type of deals... I'm still impressed that some random guy pours these in his driveway! ðŸĪŠ
  9. These are bespoke, for concours cars owned by VERY wealthy people. He's not trying to hide the fact that he makes them. I don't think he has anything to worry about... ðŸĪ·â€â™‚ïļ I've tagged Bill before (I think for a downdraft Pantera intake and one for a GT40) but he must not read the mail, or he has notifications turned off globally. Some of these old Ford carb setups are pretty cool!
  10. So the fiber gear can't wear or lose a tooth? **The ones I've seen were phenolic. Like Garolite or thick Micarta. Whatever... It "sounds like" the valve timing is off. 😕
  11. I wasn't meaning to be obtuse. I've got a vocabulary, and I use it
  12. Jim - Help me understand. Are you saying that with the HEI you "don't need a resistor, module, coil or anything but power" or that's all you need with any ignition? I understand and agree with the HEI not needing anything else, but how does that work with DS-II? It doesn't "work with DSII," it replaces it entirely ALL-IN-ONE There's not much to grasp. ðŸĪ·â€â™‚ïļ The coil and ignition module are in the distributor cap. It's like everything GM, one wire... If you want a tach there's a second wire, leading to that
  13. Where are you seeing these options? Links to both? I don't have a light 250 with a semi-floater. I would have thought "flange mount" would be the D60/61, where you have to pull the axle to get the drum off? Unfortunately, Gary didn't seem to get to the correct parts list for your vehicle. Edit, id be willing to bet that this one, that's fits 8.8 & 10.25 w/ 2 1/2" shoes is correct. Though I don't think I've ever seen an 8" w/ 8 on 6.5.
  14. That's the guy! Please visit the market place and leave a review of service and quality, so other members have a better picture of what to expect. Thanks!
  15. The solution always used to be a "test pipe" No, 302's were never stock in *the* over 8,500 gvw 250's without a cat, but was the cat integral to the Y-pipe, like 300's? "Cat eliminators" were always popular in the Mustang community. The engine bay and routing were a bit different (especially with 4x4) but I'd really be surprised if you couldn't find one that fit. Also, while an exhaust shop is never going to risk a federal fine or having their state license pulled, a mom-n-pop type place would probably make one 'for off road/track use only.' I know that I could go over to Four Way Garage and have anything bent. Even if they won't install it on something driven off their lot. In fact their Tee shirts say "Get Bent with 4-Way" 😄😄😄
  16. It's the only way that all your interior plastics come out matching. 👍
  17. All you need is power to the coil, a momentary button for the starter relay and maybe 7V to the choke? Is he going to have instrumentation? What's he using for ignition? An HEI would definitely be the simplest solution. You don't need a resistor, module, coil or anything but power
  18. This is the place for random off topic things.... Here's another video that Bill would appreciate. This guy makes AMAZING reproduction intakes and has some of the rarest performance carburetor setups I've ever seen.
  19. . That's one to file away! ðŸ’Ą I was a bit surprised that the local dealer had a half dozen crush collars and sealed pinion nuts on the shelf.**for the short pinion 10.25** (Unless the current trucks still use them) Counter monkeys are the best! Encyclopedic knowledge and total recall. **edit**
  20. Thanks for the insight Myrl! I had no idea about Cheapo Depot! ðŸĪŊ
  21. That is just the initial Transition to Glass and definitely internal temperature. You have to be sure to calibrate the emissivity of your gun depending on the surface. Chrome/mirror and flat black are about the two polar opposite ends of the spectrum we can access. I'm sure the JWST millions of miles out in space with a half dozen heat shields is on another level. Kydex is something between ABS & Polycarbonate. Though I love horsehide it keeps its shape and won't absorb sweat, corroding your piece. I also have a dot, so it needs the channel. I don't know how you'd accomplish that in leather
  22. Those little things sure are handy! I had all kind of shelving made of kindorf hanging from the beams of my old shop. It's amazing how much a 3/8-16 ready rod can hold! ðŸĪŊ
  23. Okay I know you're older, but '59 was before I was born. It's just a few days after the anniversary.
  24. The ACTUAL day? Or "drove my Chevy to the levee..."?
  25. Peter Frampton had a huge hit in the (mid?) '70's with 'Show me the way"
