  1. The smartEST thing to do, would probably be switch over to '87 up filler necks and tubes. They fill down the middle and vent in the circumference.... πŸ’‘
  2. CJ, if you're choosing to go retro and eliminate or bypass any ewissions controls you need to choose an archetype. No Cat, no retarded cam timing? Id suggest a 1968 MY. Just find something that works for you..... Then always use that when asking for parts. (here, at the store, on Rock Auto or eBay) Bypass one, the other or both vacuum devices with a straw or piece of fuel line or something,.... anything. You'll know right away where the leak is, when it stops.
  3. I was listening to Vulgar Display of Power this morning at 50. I think I need to rethink this "bassinet ". πŸ€” I don't always listen to thrash metal in my truck..... but when I do, my neighbors do too! George, are you still out there?
  4. All it takes is a neural network that constantly replenishes itself, and circuits get programmed like instincts in animals. Musk's neuralink is scary indeed! But when it's developed we'll find out if this is the matrix, or minority report. Huxley was more prescient than satirical. 🀯 Just like Judd was with Idiocracy!
  5. https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2024/02/amnesia-begone-soon-chatgpt-will-remember-what-you-tell-it-between-sessions/ Gary, you were saying there was no persistence of "thought" with Microsoft's chatbot.
  6. Really? That's exactly how it works... Every male ever born is weird? The whole planet can relate (except for those freakish puritanical places where art history professors can't critique Michaelangelo's David) Edit: Gary can nuke this if he likes, you should ban me at the same time! πŸ˜„
  7. $41.79. More importantly, it should get here Friday so i can install this weekend. And supposedly has a lifetime warranty, though I’m not sure how that’s handled. I think U-haul wants ~$55 Their shipping is OTD that day. I've NEVER had a problem with them.
  8. Haven't looked at the RockAuto price but let's not forget there's one languishing on eBay the U-Haul parts store does they have it listed as a 97 instead of an 87 E 7 t z-xxxx
  9. Thanks Gary! No rear cover on the housing, so I would presume that means it’s a 9”. In an 86 150, yes.
  10. The Escapade probably has retracting step bars. At least all the limo ones I move around do.....
  11. 250-350 4x4 frames have leaf spring shackles in the boxed frame horns.... That darn 450 (and all C&C trucks) had a thicker frame still! How's your back, Bill? You're commenting early
  12. Like a turtle neck or a foreskin, it folds back on itself. ETA it doesn't really need 'reserve'. As the clutch wears the fingers push the throwout back. The reservoir only has to hold the slack.
  13. It's NOT in tension or shear, it's a spacer block between a frame rail and a forged tow hook. Compression only! The bolts go through BOTH thick pieces of steel on the sandwich, and can't pull through. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  14. You need to be careful with anything thin enough to bend. It's like tapping something into a form. One or two blows with a tiny hammer do nothing, When you have a couple dozen little hammers x 4,800 bpm things move in a real hurry! Nothing better for getting into corners or exposing a corroded faster though.
  15. Like I said, the sem-matte hasn't been a thing in over 3 decades. I'm glad the needle scaler is helping for you! How did you live without one???
  16. I use the Continental stainless 'nut down' type valve stems w/ the knurled caps that have the valve removing fork on the top.
  17. Congratulations! Progress is Good!
  18. Welcome Andrew! I'm not certain of drain back issues with the IDI. Maybe Jonathan or someone better versed in them can answer.
  19. Yep That's how it should actually show Completely normal.
  20. This is working for me.πŸ’‘ I've done them once on the passenger side and twice on my side, in 38yrs since it rolled off the line.
  21. Also: I now know I'd pay to move downwind of your kitchen.... πŸ˜‰ 🀀
  22. I have no idea why a CPA needs a factory, but "engineering" could pretty much have gone unsaid! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
  23. I didn't realize your family was in the textile industry. I do wish your father, and by extension you, the best in dealing with a bad situation
