  1. I love it! Never knew they had that chrome strip. Really looks good. The 76 ball is awesome. Have one on my 86 also. It definitely fits these trucks. My only complaint is that it bends the antenna back quite a bit on the highway but figure all toppers are the same in that way. You have great taste
  2. Hey Dan, It does. I know the site only lists the diesel but I figure that's just because it's Banks. I ordered the Black Ops so looking forward to seeing how it looks under there. Apparently I am hard to buy bday gifts for (aren't all guys?) so this will take care of that for some family members :) You going for one?
  3. Here is some more detail for you Shaun. These are the ones I got for my 86 460. http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Fuel-cap-for-7-5L-only-td21426.html#a21480
  4. What about the same color as the light blue on the exterior? With the black exterior trim you are adding though, I don't think black is a bad way to go.
  5. Bunch of info and photos here: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/steering-columns1.html
  6. I used vapor barrier leftover from my crawlspace encapsulation and held it on with Eastwood flexible strip caulk. Considering it doesn't get any 'traffic' you'd be fine with the rolls of plastic you lay down for painting. $5 for (5) 9'x12' rolls here locally.
  7. I haven't seen those with magnifying lenses - that's a good idea. I have a pair of Craftsman branded ones that I keep in my electrical toolbox for when in crawlspaces or attics. Another style that is really handy for cooler months are the stocking/beanie caps with the leds on the front.
  8. Very nice! I have the Ender 3 Pro and it's amazing what you will find to print. Mines been working tonight printing a spacer for the Odyssey battery so the factory hold down bracket will fit it Excited to see what you print with yours. Speaking of the speaker grill, for those that are too far gone I like the idea of a recessed tray for coins, sunglasses, etc.
  9. Can't speak for the 300 but seems like those that do on the 8cyls don't really see any benefit and often worse cooling. Alt/electrical load will need considered.
  10. Sounds just like my Borlas under the supercab. Love being able to cruise quietly but get on it and hear them crackle. Looks great Gary! Very clean install
  11. I am guessing his will be the smooth 'reduced' bend vs the crinkle type. Edit: found this photo here: http://cateraninc.com/catalytic-converter/. I guess the correct names are: Mandrel, Press Bent, Empty Bent ?
  12. You're exactly right about tearing them up I experimented first on one I pulled out of the spare and it wasn't happening. I am still looking for replacement terminals for anyone else that might feel like doing this but doesn't have a spare block. BX2091C does not work.
  13. To elaborate on the option about using an open fuse slot... As I mentioned in #1, I was using that for my GVOD. Worked fine but I didn't like 1) having it on in ACC and 2) I don't like having fuses hidden away if I can help it (this was the main reason). I decided that I wanted the fuse for the overdrive in the fuse block. I ordered some fuse block connectors but they turned out to be too small so am still unsure of where to obtain new ones. Ended up pulling two wires/terminals from my spare harness. I pulled the Y/LB for the horn/cigar as it was a larger one and then the one for the Fuel Tank Selector At the top of the fuseblock is a GY/Y wire that is Hot in Run. It feeds fuses 5 and 9 therefore it's a double terminal strip. Since the GY/Y wire only takes up one, you are left with an extra input on the backside The wire crimp section was tight enough I couldn't spread it open but the strain relief part can be used. I soldered on the end of the short, larger Y/LB wire I pulled from the spare fuse block and then inserted the terminal into one leg of fuse slot 13 I then inserted the R wire I pulled into the other leg and ran it to my GVOD controller You can see the two wires at the bottom with the Y/LB running to the top and the Red running 'out' [you can also see the Hazard flasher adapter that really helps with the taller LED flasher] Now the 3 amp GVOD fuse is located at the bottom of the block beneath the power lock cb.
  14. I won't act like I know anymore than what the guy told me when laying out the routing but these v-bands (just googled and seems like that is the proper name?) are just clamping two pieces together in the middle of the run. Like Jim said, they are a different connection than ball and socket. The installer recommended them to make it easier to remove a shorter piece (from the header ball and socket to right behind the tcase) in order to provide more room when doing tcase or transmission work. Haven't touched them so not sure how it pans out in practice...
  15. Sounds like you guys have a plan but I've got one I pulled off an 86 460. I need it for a future project (long ways away) but happy to send it to you if you want to send it back when you have one made.
  16. Looking great Gary! I couldn't find anyone locally doing mandrel bends when I had mine done earlier this year but that may have been due to using stainless. If it gives any ideas, happy to show the path mine take since a similar setup aside from the tranny. The driver crosses over the tcase and then both go over the skid plate and are tucked up nicely. Also worth asking about having some of those vclamps installed behind the tcase so easier to drop part of the exhaust for working room.
  17. "These are USED OEM Emblems would make ok Daily Drivers or re-chrome for Show." Guess they had a box laying around...
  18. Thanks Gary. So it's a 3 wire? I'll have to look at mine sometime. Was thinking it just had two wires but can't say I paid that much attention to it when hooking it up.
  19. I like the NOCO brand but no personal experience with their jump starters. I've got one of their big jump starters in my wishlist but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
  20. Do you mean 'next to oil pressure sending unit'? Not trying to be picky but just want to ensure we're on the same page. You are looking for the switch that has two R/Y wires in the plug located behind the intake? Likely screwed into a tree along with the pressure sending unit.
  21. Yep, when I did mine I just took some pliers and pressed the rod holding the green gears through one end.
  22. Looked at a truck before getting Camano that had one of these. It really looked pretty good.
