  1. Haven't been to Daylight Donuts in C'ville, but have been many times to the one in 'Took. And maybe we can have some when you visit?
  2. I always hated that song back when I was a kid and my mom played it over and over. I had forgotten it until you just mentioned it and I still hate it to this day. Sorry for reminding you. But do you know of Groucho?
  3. With the PSOM you can reprogram for the new gears?
  4. I have a repro bezel, one that I had made when Ron and I were playing with them. It isn't perfect, but it may do. The big issues is that I don't have a switch.
  5. Do you want a pic of one with A/C or just heat? If A/C I can get pics in the morning.
  6. You, Jim. Just wasn't sure that's who you meant.
  7. Didn't know about Timmy's, but read up on it. (LOVE the internet. Earlier today heard Creeque Alley and remembered to read up on it as I'd always wanted to do from the first time I heard it.) Anyway, didn't get out to the shop today so needed to "do something to my truck today". Given that I ordered the bezel on the left from Dennis Carpenter. Hopefully I can make it fairly well match the instrument bezel on the right. But I'm guessing I'll have to paint both of them to get a match.
  8. Groucho? As in Marx? (I'm showing my age.)
  9. Lots easier to do the test with the engine on the stand. Biggest problem is in laying out the balancer every 90 degrees, and that's easy. I have a small tape measure with a flat tape so it is easier to wrap around the balancer. Divide the measurement by 4 and mark it. Put the #1 piston on TDC on the compression stroke, remove the breaker bar from the crank, and put the air to the tester. If your balancer's marks are spot-on the crank shouldn't turn. But if it is off a bit it might, so you want that breaker bar out.
  10. Run a leak-down test with the engine out. If there's a headgasket problem you'll lose air into the cooling passages or to another cylinder.
  11. Not sure this is rotated correctly, but I saved it, opened it in Photos, rotated it, and saved it.
  12. Good job, Cory! They really look good. As for getting them black, I wouldn't use ArmorAll until I was sure that's the right approach. I say that because I'm afraid nothing else will stick after the ArmorAll is used. So, Back To Black or something like SEM's Black. BtB is brush-on, right? Will that create an even color? Wouldn't a paint, like SEM, be sure to give a more even color? But, would it require masking things somewhat?
  13. Yes, that is thick hose/walls. And, I'm not finding it, although I'm not sure I want something that thick. Here are the possible sizes I found with this supplier on Amazon:
  14. Looking good, Dave!!! Cannot wait until you get it out and we get good shots of it.
  15. Probably a good idea as that one has what look to be hard spots on it where it has gotten hot from slippage. To use it I think it would need to be ground, and that might cost as much as that new one.
  16. I'm sure that is true unless you are a lot older than I think you are since the only one as bad was in 1935.
  17. That would make it difficult. Not enough slack to make it go to the back and tie it to the hood part way up? Three is a cool age. Lots of energy and more questions than can be believed. Have fun and remember these days.
  18. That's good progress, especially if you have a "little one". How little?
  19. Lots of good ideas, guys. Steve - We already have the New Members folder, and everyone is encouraged to post about themselves in there. So, how would your suggestion be different? Not pushing back, just trying to understand. Jonathan - You are right, there is vehicle info in About Me. And it really doesn't belong there. Nor does the stuff on building web sites nor on Bible lessons. So I do need to find a better home for them. But, I agree that there has to be an About section to explain what the site is for and how to contact the "owner". Gonna be out and about for a medical test for Janey this afternoon, but back this evening. Keep the ideas coming.
  20. That's old info. On my TV right now it is showing 185 MPH. And our son, DiL, and granddaughter are where the red dot is at West Palm.
