  1. Yep, you'll be powder coating the inside parts of the HVAC system next.
  2. That would have come in handy to help this baby boomer straighten the frame recently.
  3. The 1988 Bronco Type 5's were indeed 15 x 8", as were those for 1987. But the same looking wheel was 15 x 7 up through 1986. The page at Driveline/Wheels shows how to ID wheels via the code stamped near the valve stem on the back side. The 1987 & '88 wagonwheel/spoked argent wheels are E7TZ 1015-A.
  4. My excuse is that I just got up and have only had two sips of coffee.
  5. Right, Jim. But, I'm pretty sure the 400 never came with anything but DS-II. I'm not 100% on that because it was used through 1982 and some funky stuff was trickling in that year. However, since the 400 wasn't available in the lighter trucks, I'm reasonably sure 400 means DS-II.
  6. Jim - I like shopping locally or helping people who have helped me by buying from them. But when the price diff is almost 2x it makes it hard. That isolator is $103 on Amazon and $196 on that site. Scott - That's a good file to have as it explains the different modes better than the other one. But, it also tells me something I didn't know - the switch to parallel the batteries only needs to be a momentary. The isolator parallels the batteries for 1 minute when the switch closes. That's not said on the other sheet. However, there's something that is said on that sheet that can be an issue. It says "Allows bi-directional charging from alternator or from shore/campground power charger/converter when available." But what it doesn't say is that it will parallel the batteries when the charger gets either battery to 13.2 volts. And, if you are using a small enough charger, like a Battery Tender, the pull-in current of the isolator is more than the output of the charger. So the combined battery voltage starts down until you get to 12.7, at which point it opens again and the batteries start charging. I didn't like that, so I put a relay in the ground circuit to the isolator. The relay is pulled in by the ignition circuit, so when the engine is off and the chargers are on the isolator is dead.
  7. I don't know 'bout VinylProVinyl, but yes.
  8. Jim, you've actually hit on a few of my first things. I don't like the brushguard and unfortunately it's welded right to the frame. You're also right about the seals and caulk, but unfortunately that leads to being wrong about the rust. The floor pans definitely have some and I believe it was most likely from the inside out. Anyway, I'll get to all that. Big Blue's floor pans have some rust, from the inside, and I'm going to clean it, wire brush it, and POR15 it to kill the rust.
  9. Man, if it held air pressure that long you are golden. But, are you going to replace the other core plugs while it is out? Or, wait for the leak-down test and then replace them if it passes that? My NP208 is cracked at the bottom and seeps ATF. Could you tell where the leak was coming from? All in all, several more layers off the onion.
  10. And there aren't even that many little things to do: Oil change Check tire pressure Check lights Wash windows Hang license plate collection Um...??? How long has it been since the front wheel bearings were checked? Brakes & brake fluid? Lug nut torque?
  11. Mine hasn't had gas added to it in a month, and probably won't for the next six months.
  12. Looking good, Matthew! And only about 2 weeks to do the little things.
  13. Interesting! I'd heard about that cap, but don't guess I've ever seen one. Maybe I don't care to?
  14. I don't think that's close enough, but let's see what other say. Personally, with the problems you are having, I'd replace the TPS. Here are the readings: Factory Yours 0 degrees: 0v .45v 100 deg 5v 4.20v
  15. That’s why the page we have on their 4-digit paints says “But, note that these are not off-the-shelf paints. You will have to have them mixed by a SEM dealer....”
  16. They may work, but they aren't the right part number for our trucks. The "HZ" is the wrong bit, with all of the "right" part numbers having "TZ" in the prefix.
  17. I guess I have misunderstood all the way around. First, I thought there was some concern that it might not be Dark Harbor Blue. Second, I thought SEM's 3042 was the correct formula for that color.
  18. WHYDTYTT? Nada. Zip. Nothing. But, much of the day has been Ford-truck related. After a meeting at church, wherein I reminded people that the show is in just less than two weeks, I spent the rest of the morning distributing flyers for the show around town. The town isn't that big, but it took a while as many of the people I met wanted to talk. Some of it was about the show, some about trucks, and one guy started his 460 to let me hear the exhaust note. Another guy, a member on here but who is AWOL, talked about the 418 Windsor he's planning on ordering, which will have a 4 3/8" stroke and 600 ft-lbs. At another stop I asked about Steve/FoxFord33 but was told this is his day off. The last stop was at Ron's Hamburgers, so I had to take lunch home. Then it was time to pull out the left over goodies from last year to see what I might need to seek more of. Turns out the "window/windshield cards" were in short supply, and since they came from LMC I called my contact there to make sure she includes more of them in the stuff she's supposed to send. But, she no longer works there, and the lady that took over didn't have our show on the list. So I resubmitted that request. And, I also realized that while I have goody bags from Summit I'd not hit them up this year. So I called them and after a series of false starts was finally transferred to the Car Show Kit voice recording. (Or so I thought.) At that extension a lady reads the list of needed info in order to supply a kit, and that includes reading aloud an email address. So I created yet another email with all the info they were looking for and sent it. And it bounced. So I called and listened again: carshowkit@summitracing.com. Yep, that's where I sent it. So I called and after waiting a while drew someone who expected me to order something. But when I explained what had happened he transferred me to Customer Support. And many minutes later they answered, listened to my story, and went off the investigate. When she came back she said "The address is carshowkitS@summitracing.com. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I called the folks that make the trophies. After several telephone calls they are now on order and are to be delivered late next week, if not early the week of the show. And between those calls I counted blank ballots (62) and ballots used in '18 (63). That's not enough 'cause all y'all say you'se guys are coming, so I ordered another 50 - to be available for pickup late next week or early the week of the show. Tonight at church I'll ask the lady making the t-shirts where that stands, and also check with the lady who is coordinating the 'utes on the concessions. Having said all that 'bout Fords, I also got a text message from Janey's cousin that my trip to Grove to fetch his '65 Malibu back for John Keeline to work on is back on the calendar. So, my newest Ford is going to be doing what Fords do best - haul a Chevrolet. I think I'll call it a day, y'all.
  19. There's a remote chance I can crossref the #'s on the back of your parts to a part # that would give the color. Remote. But I'd need good shots of those numbers, especially including the suffix info as that's where the color info will be.
  20. David - Thanks a bunch. Scott - I think they are these. But they were on the truck when I got it so I don't know for sure. Surely 4wd as they fit, and they are nickle plated, but have rust spots. I can post pics if you'd like.
  21. I think they'll compress 1/4" inch - w/o grease. I didn't measure mine, but I think they came down about that much.
  22. When in the forum and not editing I think there are these search bars: Google Custom Search: That's the one that is partially obscured in your pic. It can come out - when I figure out how I put it in. Search Garagemahal: This one needs to stay as it searches the whole of the website, meaning forum and documentation. Empty Search Bar: This is the one below the pic at present and above the page listings. It searches the forum only, and needs to stay. But it would be nice if there was a way to tell people what it is, like "Forum Search". Google Custom Search: Same as the top one but at the bottom of the page. It can come out - when I figure out how I put it in.
  23. I see what you are saying on the clean look, and that makes sense. However, I'll have to play around with it on my test forum to see that it can even be done. Or, maybe I should say "can be done for mobile devices". At one point the hamburger was forced when the website detected a mobile device. But that may be dependent upon the "theme" that is chosen. And Weebly doesn't provide a table that I can find which describes the bits and pieces of each theme. So I have to try them and see what they create. But, you've given me a lot to think about. Thanks!
