  1. Nice! How are installed the rivets, in order to no see them from the top side?
  2. I vote No. I my opinion, chapterizing a club is a way of dividing it in smaller concentrated organizations, each of them going independently and reporting to the Head Office from time to time. The goal of this kind of structure was (yep, I use the past form) to stimulate proximity and easy communication between members. It was probably the only logical way to keep members interacting together on a regular basis. It was before the internet and instant worldwide communication. And, we'll... If we go the chapter way, than I'll probably be the president plus the single and only member of Quebec's one.
  3. Christopher, are you looking for the crossmember/transmission insulators I discussed in this thread?
  4. Gary, I love it. This is reminding me of the song « ».
  5. NPD says «ABSORBER, CAB MOUNT, #1, UPPER». This diagram seems to confirm...
  6. For those interested, I took off the existing banjo, 9/16" ID confirmed. So, my plan sounds good. I ordered the 3 fittings.
  7. I take it you dont have the ability to do an -AN flare on the hardline right? If you do I would recommend that, you would just need a -6 tube nut and tube nut sleeve (fits 3/8" line) and flare it to -6 AN then it will fit the banjo fitting. You got it, I am not equipped for tubing fitting/modification. And here, not easy to find specific threads tubes. That's why I need an easy "plug and play" solution. I am wondering about the banjo size, cannot find clear carburetor specs for that part on the web. Is 9/16" ID the right diameter for my new Holley Carb?
  8. Wow! That's pretty low, almost rocket launch seats angle! Looking more to the Moon than at the road, maybe comfortable for a sleeping passenger, although not sure about the driver's position...
  9. Gary, sorry for my stupid question, but do I conclude that Ford bucket seats did not have back angle adjustments, back in these years? Same as the bench seats?
  10. My response was that I am more than happy to pay the DHL fee as I want to get it on for the trip to New Mexico in about a month. Wow! Very kind from them to let you test the thing!
  11. Ok guys, here is my plan. In my basket, ready to order: Adapter, AN to Inverted Flare, Straight (-6 AN to 1/2-20 in. Inverted Flare) Coupler, Straight, Swivel (-6 AN Female AN to -6 AN Female AN) 9/16 in. Banjo (-6 AN Male Threads) Any comments before I order?
  12. I appreciate GPS and find them very useful. Although they can be very frustrating when there's a lot of road works, they're not always up-to-date. On the other hand, I fully agree with you Matt. For example, I never go in the woods for hunting or hiking without a map and my compass in the backpack. These hold school tools never break down, I cannot rely only on technology, too risky that my GPS suddenly decides to... not work. Yep, I'm that guy!
  13. I have a puller and had trouble inserting the bolts. It worked, but I suspect they did not have the good threads. Later, I read somewhere (certainly in this wonderful forum), that bolt size for steering wheel puller is 5/16” with fine thread (5/16”-24).
  14. Are you moving to Quebec? More seriously, I cannot help you since Big Brother never had AC system. I live in Quebec. Pretty sure some forum friends will have the required knowledge to help you. I suggest that Gary moves your question into a specifically created topic, otherwise it will "disappear" in the «Projects» one.
  15. That makes sense. The contact surface is more important between the inserts and the "host" metal, larger circumference, more threads length. A larger bolt hangs better than a smaller one, and the insert acts as a larger bolt does. Not sure this hypothesis holds up, but I like it!
  16. Small easy job today. When rebuilding Big Bro, I installed a brand new windshield washer/rad overflow bottle, and a new washer fluid pump. I realized that the pump gasket was slowly leaking. I decided to change the pump again, and while disconnecting the plug, one wire broke. So, I ordered a new pigtail. Today I installed a new pump and the new S596 style plug. About this latter, I had to cut a small flange on the plug contour, in order to insert it in the pump end. Strange... Maybe this pigtail connector is made to fit slightly wider pumps plug models? Otherwise, without the flange, it fits perfectly, pins aligned in the connector holes, and connector clipped and secured correctly.
  17. I agree, I had the same doubts about the torque test... Although one thing is clear, don't rely on "copper trick" or Loctite for serious repair! Yep, these "sleeve" kits are surprisingly strong! And, in order to secure vehicle seats to the floor, the torque issue isn't the main concern in case of accident... The bolt not tearing out is the goal!
  18. Gary, your post made me intrigued about different ways/brands of taping bolt threads. Found interesting video on YouTube.
