  1. Gary, it's now clear for the GIF, simply inserting it the same way we insert a JPG is the trick, thanks. I'll give a try later. Gary, yes that's what I meant!Selecting the text before and then click the Link menu in order to paste the copied Hyperlink is the trick!Let's give a try right now:This is your last post in Big Blue's Transformation topic.Working!
  2. Interesting... I've always assume that coolant is supposed to protect the cooling circuit (including engine, pump and rad) against rust and corrosion. How can there be corroding water in the block? Wrong coolant mixture?
  3. Gary, Can you point out a place in the Library explaining how to: - insert an animated gif. - modify the name (or title/text) of an inserted permalink. I searched but did not find the way. You have this secret magic touch, which I'd sometimes like to mimic.
  4. I still remember when you mentioned the different/incorrect mirrors the first time you saw that photo all those years ago, lol. Ray, I prefer the clear lenses as well. Have them on my F350 as well even though it isn't a 1980. Well, there are better days than others... This weekend, had a major hydraulic oil leak on my Kubota B21. The propeller shaft seal died. Went to the Web, bought workshop manual... Not sure, but I think that the tractor has to be split in two in order to reach the clutch cover (and this 15$ seal). Not a job I can do. Tractor is at the garage today, we'll see. If you are curious... https://youtu.be/Qr1zJ88LfrY
  5. Hey Tobias, long time no see! How's your project going?
  6. 7$ from LMC, but not identical to original (sticky and transparent plastic domed). I bought one, but I prefer the original shape, like the eBay one.

  9. Too bad they don't specify the price it was sold. https://classicfordtrucktrader.com/ad/1986-ford-f-150/
  10. Interesting, the idea of a translucent filter before the carb, to monitor if the line is full/empty/leaking. I'll give a try, easy to install. And I'll watch the mechanical fuel pump, we never know.
  11. Gary, I pointed your alarm solution directly in the tailgate locking topic. Could be useful for future search.
  12. Relax Dane, you got your public! I catched and smiled since BigBro doesn't have any neither. I am serioulsly considering to design something that could fit our tailgates, maybe "inspired" by something similar to Pop & Lock. Can't admit there's nothing to do! Last edit: Gary went a different way, installing an alarm system on Big Blue's tailgate: Find the details on Big Blue's Transformation topic: https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Big-Blue-s-Transformation-tp28014p126213.html https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Big-Blue-s-Transformation-tp28014p126364.html https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Big-Blue-s-Transformation-tp28014p126545.html
  13. You're right Gary, but I never found an easy solution. The way our Bullnoses are designed make a lockable hinge almost impossible. The only solution that would potentially work is to install a left closed hinge to the right side, which makes the door not removable (Matt's proposal). That's why I was wondering how Broncos are tailgate secured. Thanks to Dane, I now realize that Bronco's tailgate handle is located on the inner side of the tailgate, and that its window acts as the "security lock" (has to be lowered to enable door opening). I assume that all Broncos tailgate windows were powered, with this key lock that is in fact a switch. This is probably the 11th thing some enthusiasts had to know about 80-86 Broncos.
  14. Gary, is this a standard way to lock a Bronco tailgate? If so, can this be adapted to a Bullnose truck in order to prevent tailgate robbery? http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/uploads/6/5/8/7/65879365/thinking-26_orig.jpg
  15. Gary, Maybe if I sell him today I'll not refund all my "investment"... ...Not urgent, can wait few decades.
  16. Yeah that would make sense, as 3/4 ton pickups with a diesel engine are in high demand as the cool new grocery getters these days. And I was thinking of something quite a bit newer with a lot more power. My old work truck was a F150 6.2L and I wouldn't mind having that engine in a stronger truck, or something comparable from Chevy or Dodge. It got 17mpg highway, which I know wouldn't be the same in a F250 or 350, but optioned as it was, it was as heavy as an F150 can get. Our decision to restore Big Brother was partially (mainly?) motivated by the price of decent recent used trucks. Don't know for US, but here (QC Canada) in early 2019, F250HD 4x4 in decent shape, mileage between 100,000km-150,000km, let's say not older than 2014-2015, were priced between 55000$-85000$ CAD. We spent less money to make Big Bro like new, he's strong enough for our farm job. Compared with a more recent used truck, the only downside about Big Bro is the fuel consumption, but he doesn't do lot of mileage per year. Can't call it an "investment" but I think (hope?) that he's not losing value as time goes on, which would not have be the case for a more recent used truck. And let's admit it's fun that this head turner is a conversation starter with perfect strangers who suddenly need to have a friendly talk with us about this machine. And finally, well... we love him!
  17. Absolutely not! He's going to stay quiet at least until next Sunday, supposed to climb to 27ºF then.
  18. I swapped my truck to a manual in 2014, so those failures have all occurred within an eight-year time frame. On some the seal failed, causing me to lose fluid. On others the throw-out bearing started to chatter. The rest just kept getting air in the system. There's only a few companies that seem to be making slave cylinders for the Ranger, and I have yet to find one with a quality product. It would not be so bad if the slave cylinder was external, but all Rangers are internal slave, so you have to pull the transmission every time. Geee... It's 27ºF right now. Supposed to drop to -24ºF tonight. That a drop...
  19. Interesting, Shaun! I didn't notice it. What's the deal? They didn't work with a standard template to instal the emblems? I was sure the fenders came pre-drilled to align the emblems...
  20. According to the Marti Report, Big Brother was also born "radio deleted". Somehow, somebody installed one in his past. When my father in law acquired BigBro (mid 90's, I think), is was already radio equipped.
  21. To hyphen or not to hyphen, is this your question..? Well, even Ford doesn't seem to know. In their own sales brochure, text is with. But the emblem is without.
  22. Right Matt! Obviously, people on the sale picts aren't working, contractors are perfectly clean, no stain, no dirt, no dust. They're just paid to smile. So, no need for a radio, I suppose.
  23. I have a suggestion for them: The only result for any search about Bullnoses would be a link to this amazing Forum and its incredible Library. Would be much easier for them. Job is already done!
