  1. This Florida Man joke remembers me another we have here: Moose hunting accident, the valid guy takes his shot friend to the hospital emergency. After waiting about the doctor, this latter comes back: — Hey Doc, I shot my friend, I swear, this was an accident! Will he survive? — Well, maybe I could have saved him, if you have not emptied him before taking him here...
  2. Cool! Thanks to Erik! And many MANY thanks to Gary for maintaining this HUGE library!
  3. OK guys, I'm OK to conclude that my spare cluster should be compatible with Big Brother? If so, I will probably put this cluster in Big Bro, since it has the million km odometer w/tripometer. Needs good cleaning, but was not expansive (paid it around 30$ USD at my local yard, 5 years ago). • But I will keep Big Bro's gauges, I got them separately, all NOS, while restoring. • I will put HiPo cool white LED bulbs without filter as of Gary's tests conclusion. I like how they look. Questions: • Can I transfer Big Bro's NOS gauges without issue in this "tripometer" cluster? • Big Bro's speedometer looks almost new, very clean. Do you think I can easily transfer its needle to the "tripometer" one? • The cluster transparent cover has some minor scratches. Any advice about a good product to polish and restore it?
  4. Jim, I receive these thanks for all my compatriots. But I need to return this compliment to all US governments that allowed Canadians to participate to the North American automotive industry for decades. We could have be easily obliterated in this trade. Maybe Canada is a "great" nation (thanks again), but it remains a very small population (and market), in comparison with USA.
  5. Interesting... but the author needs a bit of geography knowledge: «The massive "small block" engine takes its name from the Windsor Engine Plant that birthed it in Windsor, Ohio». Time to be chauvinistic and get it back on the right track. 351 Windsor plant is located in Windsor. Ontario. Canada. Hey. The Cleveland version of the 351 was made in Cleveland, OH. USA. Yep. Our friendly neighbours. No need to apologize, these things happen.
  6. 40 years ago, Quebec City to Key Largo FL, 1840 miles, 23 hours non stop, Renault 5, two drivers (my girl friend and me). We're still together. Being young is the right time to do this kind of "crazy" trip!
  7. Very interesting! Every time I saw a "square design" cluster, I was concluding it was a 1980-86 F-Series, E-series or Bronco one. With your help, I now realize that I was wrong. This "square design" cluster continued at least until 1997, for the heavy truck, such as F-700. Like this eBay one (w-trip and w/o-tach, as Ralph pointed out earlier), supposedly for 1994-97 F-700. I notice that this version has its Oil and Charge gauges swapped for idiot lights. Should we call this a progress? Ok now, about the cluster with "trip and tach" I have in stock, how to determine if this is a Diesel or Gasoline one? Any advice? Thanks!
  8. Gentlemen, I am a bit confused. I have two spare clusters in stock, and trying to understand/identify the one with tripometer (E1TF-10C956-B). Diesel? Gasoline? So, taking a look on what used stock is available on eBay, I find that some diesels and gasoline clusters have the same part number on their back. And there I find some speedometers without cable, but having a connector instead. Digging in the Documention section, I don't find info about these two questions...
  9. Yes sir, Canadian trucks got million km odometers with and without trip meters in 1983. The US market pickup trucks never did get the million mile odometers...they stayed with the 100k mile units until the end in 1986. Curious... For me, 99,000 miles (just under 160,000 km) isn't unusual. Maybe the '80s f-series manufactured in Canada were built more solid and durable than their US counterparts?
  10. I regularly saw w/o-trip km odometers with million, but never with trip. Cory, did you see such million km odometer w/trip? That's a good question. I've never seen one either with trip. I'm tempted to transplant a medium duty million mile speedometer/odometer in my truck myself. Loosing the tripometer is the main reason why I haven't yet. Well, seems that they were available, actually: From November '82. https://www.garysgaragemahal.com/gauges1.html Thanks to Gary's Library! Edit: Looking closer, seems that million speedo were "Dual Band 120 KMpH / 85MpH", but not the reverse (MpH/KMpH).
  11. I regularly saw w/o-trip km odometers with million, but never with trip. Cory, did you see such million km odometer w/trip?
  12. I guess that makes you a very, VERY clever Ford guy. You bet!
  13. Wow! I didn't know this kind of stuff was existing!
  14. Thanks to Gary, I had a good night. And from yesterday evening I could now be this very clever Ford guy you met.
  15. Hhhaaaaa.... Now I'm feeling better-calmed down-serein-peaceful. Thanks Gary!
  16. Wow! What a nice country (and SO exotic for the North guy I am)! Hmmm... Caldera, does it have to see with Super Volcanoes?
  17. Hi Gentlemen! I am wondering-preoccupied-tormented about a very fundamental-trivial-existential question: Was the speedo with trip counter/reset an option? Was it available on any Bullnose year, or this was an option that appeared with the latest trucks editions? Can't sleep, help please!
  18. Boy! I understand why the spring is so cold here! Today we got a poor 46ºF, and it was almost freezing last night... If you have snow down there, we're not going to see warm weather soon up here!
  19. I don't understand how it is possible in BB's cockpit... Any warning gauge or alarm about RPM/shifting?
