  1. Ralph, you're right! But I am sure that Big Bro is much noisier than ever this spring. Nope. But this can be an option I can consider. Thanks for the info!
  2. Hi David! Is the interior color original? Probably the optional interior color they called "medium spruce glow"? First time I see one, I like it!
  3. A wise man named Gary said one day: These trucks make a barn look aerodynamic.ยป How it must be heartbreaking to have no choice but put some ethanol in Big Blue's tank!
  4. Guys, that's a lot of information, thanks so much! If prefer to not go with additives for the moment, will start from the base. So, my plan will be: 1- Flush the fluid. It's probably the oldest one in this truck, other ones were recently renewed (brakes and radiator). 2- Verify that cap o-rings are sealed. Renew if needed. 3- If still very noisy after pouring new ps fluid, will probably look for a pump swap. Will have to make a decision between a new C2, a Saginaw, or this "Sag-organs-in-a-C2-Body" I wasn't aware of. And thanks to Jim, will need to confirm if this latter can support a F-350 before going that way. I'll let you know where each step is taking me.
  5. Hi Gentlemen, Yesterday was a warm sunny day, and I was moving my Mom to a new residence. Big Bro was excited about his first ride of the year. Don't know if he found the winter too long, but he has his power steering noisier than ever (never used to be really quiet, but now it's crying loudly). No leak, full of oil. Seems to operate "normally". I understand this pump noise isn't normal, but should I wonder about anything specific, is there any preventive action to take before something breaks? Thanks for your advices!
  6. If the PDF file is too large, you can use WeTransfer. It's free for files under 2Gb. At job, I use it on regular basis. No account to create, no credit card number, simple to use.
  7. I fully agree with James. Before the resto, Big Bro had very tough (but very ugly) homemade rails, heavy C steel channels solidly bolted on top of the bed sides. As tonneau cover, I was sliding plywood sheets in the C channels. I deleted this setup during the resto. Looking at the result, I found that something was missing... so I looked for nice OEM rails. They are nice, and useful for light anchorage. The steel chromed pods are very solid, but the aluminum rails themselves are somewhat "fragile". They are also rare. Good to know before choosing the OEM rails. They are far from perfect... but they are OEM. I like them a lot.
  8. If I can help, I fitted OEM rails on Big Bro last year. I can provide pictures and instructions for the parts. Larry: If you have a 1984 long bed, they should fit. If there are missing parts, I have some spare ones.
  9. Guys, thanks a lot for these detailed explanations!
  10. Gary, thank you for the clarification, very appreciated!
  11. Gentlemen, I am a complete rookie about stabilizer bars. My question is only motivated by curiosity, since I personally do not plan such work on Big Bro. Question: Does a truck need bars on front AND rear, or they can be installed independently and have no influence each on the other?
  12. Late reply but that looks good, I was going to get the deluxe report as well as a copy of my original sticker to replace mine. Mine is perfectly fine but when it comes time for paint and bodywork I want the door jamb painted and I plan on trying to carefully remove the original sticker to put it up and replace it with the marti-report replica. Finally! Back to its place!
  13. Gary, don't laugh too loud, but I had such conversation with my wife, couple of months ago. She looked at me as if I was really sick.
  14. Ralph, we need to define what's a very interesting map. For me, yours is really exotic and much more exciting than Big Bro's East Coast one! I have to confess my impossible dream: Get time (and money for the gaz), and spread paint all over North America in a huge road trip with Big Bro. LOL!
  15. Funny, I like it! Big Brother's map gives a big paint splash, since the country here is divided in very large provinces and territories, LOL! To say the truth, this is a more realistic map of Big Bro's mileage.
  16. Wow, what a huge pile of branches! You're right, better having a rainy day in order to control it. Don't know on your side, but here spring is always very dry just after the snow disappeared, before we get the leaves in the trees. Very risky to spread fire. Couple of years ago, a neighbor almost put the surrounding forest on fire, fortunately the fire fighters responded quickly and were able to stop it.
  17. They sale something really close to Big Blue's paint pattern. You could have T-Shirts for your journey crew!
  18. Thanks Gary, but I am wondering if Bill isn't right in his post, where he suggests that Crew Cabs have their VCL on the door itself, and others on the cab jamb.
  19. Definitely not my best communication day!
