You already posted that in a separate section, although it is just a link to an external site.

Thanks, Shaun.  I was thinking I had, but didn't find it.  Obviously didn't look long enough.  I'll clean that up.  Any suggestions?

I like having the document on the site as that ensures it won't go away.  But the info on the pins is good and needs to be retained.

Ok, after perusing what I have in the Documentation/Electrical section with regard to terminals, connectors, etc I've come to realize that IT IS A MESS!  Here are the pages and contents we have, with the bullet showing the name of the page and then the tabs listed:

Connectors: This is the new page and just has the 2015 version of the Wiring Pigtail Kits Identification Guide

Terminals & Connectors: Illustrations of the connectors, including a type #; Connectors - part numbers for many of the connectors/sleeves used and their type #; Terminals & Connectors - I think these are actually the terminals; Sources - has Bill's spreadsheet on where to get some of the terminals

Wiring Connectors: Has supposedly links to both the 2008 and 2015 Wiring Pigtail Kits Identification Guides, but the 2008 version is MIA; also has info and pics of two terminal types.

Obviously this needs to be reconciled.

I think the two connector sections just need to be merged, with your most recent catalog addition being primary, and the external links being just that, external links with no image.

As for the rest of the electrical section, I haven't looked at it enough to notice the issues so I have no suggestions.

I forgot about that, Shaun.  Need to fix that.

Anyway, I added a page today.  Was looking for something in the Illustrations section of the MPC and ran across the wiring routing.  Had been looking for it, so added this page: Documentation/Electrical/Wiring Routing.  Has info on the:

Camper, aux battery, and trailer tow relay wiring

Main wiring harness, including a nice shot of the back of the instrument cluster, under hood, fuse block, down the frame, etc

Battery & starter, which answers the question we discussed recently about how those wires are to be run

Power door lock wiring

I added a new "section" to the website today - Reference.  (Documentation/Reference)  And in it so far you'll find:

Hose & Fittings: This is the page Angelo asked for with the fitting and hose size chart

Standard & Utility Parts Catalog: This tells you the details about all of those things in the Master Parts Catalog's illustrations.  Let's take the cooling system illustration below.  I see these fasteners and the new catalog tells me:

N606676: M6 22.5mm long and 9.8 hardness.  And, it is a Type 11 so it looks like

383375: This is a #12 spring nut that has A & B dimensions of 5/8", is Grade 5, and looks like

383152: This is a 1/4 - 14 self-tapping screw that is 5/8" long and looks like

At least on my 1984 F150 with a 4.9, the radiator mounts use two of the M6 type 11 bolts (not one), and the shroud is held on with two more M6 type 11's. Go figure.

I've already ordered a box of 25 of the black phosphate 6.0x1x22.5 type 11 screws as most of the ones in the front of my truck are rusty.

Funny they have a 1/4 screw in a #12 clip nut.
1/4" should be #14

Re: Merry Christmas! Documentation Is Ready

Funny story, Jim.  The absolute best time I had in school was when at the age of 60 I went back for lathe and mill schooling.

I had a huge list of questions stored up when class started, including one about #14 screws.  I actually had a #14 tap but couldn't find anything in our text book about it so asked the instructor.  He said there wasn't such an animal, and before I could say "I have one" the guy in the front row said "Then why does that chart behind you have it listed?"

I wrote my research paper on fasteners and learned that there was a whole lot of consolidation of fastener sizes during the late 1800's and early 1900's.  Forgetting what other countries had, the US had a different set of fastener sizes for each industry.  So as things standardized some sizes were left off.  And the #14 fasteners were one of those.  Almost but not quite the same as 1/4", and we didn't need both.

Right.

And we have #10 but no 3/16.

For me, in my trades, it's a very specific 12-24 undercut flat (wafer) head screw that is required for fire doors in metal jambs.

I used to buy these by the gross, when I went to the industrial supply that I knew stocked them.

Sadly when the industry went away so did they.

When was the last time you bought a box of 144 of anything????

Don't remember buying 144 of anything for a long, long time.  I remember getting that many 1/4-20 G2 bolts long ago and discovering G2's are way too soft for most things.  Took forever to use them up.

The only thing I can buy a dozen dozen of now is acid brushes at the plumbing supply.

Grade 2,  what were you thinking???

Re: Merry Christmas! Documentation Is Ready

I wasn't thinking.  I didn't know about different fastener grades.  Don't think Dad knew, so I didn't learn it until during that project.

Bought a full-sized Chevy van that was open and empty behind the second seat and created a raised platform using angle, plywood, and 1/4" fasteners.  The platform was covered in carpet matching that of the rest of the van, and a mattress was on top of it.

I learned pretty quickly that a G2 1/4-20 is SOOOOOFT.  I twisted several of them off as I was building that thing.  And this was long before I got air impacts and long before battery-powered ones that worked, so it was all by hand.  But I don't think I've purchased a G2 fastener since.
