  1. Pump was not pumping. Sender is working so far.
  2. Well, they couldn't find a sender unit for the 19 gallon rear steel tank. (I don't think there are any) They got my old sender out and put the new pump on it, I elected to keep the new tank. Don't want to regret it later! And they called and I picked up my truck, assuming they checked it out. Filled it up and the pump is not working. Took it back. Another service writer took care of me as the other was gone. He made the comment they couldn't check it as it had no gas in it, which I thought was odd. New pump may be bad, or the wiring got damaged somehow I'm guessing. At least they gave me a loaner car, makes it much easier to get back and pick it up.
  3. 19, I don't want to relocate the spare. I know she's thirsty and can always use more fuel! But I've found I'm usually ready to stop before switching tanks, on longer trips. I'll be glad to be able to run the rear tank down!
  4. That's great! I have bought spare parts for that reason. Then I stuff the original away, for what I am not sure. When I sell the vehicle I proudly tell them here are the original parts that I did not want to alter, and they're like, yeah, OK, whatever.
  5. Ok, I misunderstood. Thanks! Well, the shop could not get the sending unit out, the lock ring is rusted to the tank. I wasn't surprised, they're getting a new tank, sending unit and all. Estimate is $550 or so. I'll just be glad to have this behind me.
  6. Opening the page was right away with the med res. Opening the high res was almost 20 seconds, the first page came right up, then the wait to be able to scroll down.
  7. A saw a Centurion a week or two ago that was a work truck, like a contractor's rig. IIRC it was an Aero Nose. I've seen a few, some ranchers around here have had them.
  8. Mine took closer to 20 seconds. I looked at the two and zoomed in with the Chrome zoom for the page. The high res was much easier to read but it cut off some parts, i.e. the payload for 4x4's. Then I tried the pop out feature and that worked great. I could zoom in with no problems.
  9. :nabble_smiley_good: Before I read the later posts I looked around and thought another tab on the FAQ page. Then I reread your post and the next two. Duh! So I agree, the FAQ page.
  10. Same problem on my cowl seal, guess I'll be gluing it on tomorrow!
  11. Oh OK, I assumed it had to be powered out of the rear position. Good to know. I finally got the pump to fail. It is loud too. I can hear it from the drivers seat with the door open and the fuel cap off and the engine running. The front one I can barely hear with the cap off and my ear next to the filler with the engine running. Going to a shop next Tuesday, quoted me $265 for parts and labor. Also 85lebaron, on the connector, I don't think a 1/4 inch type connector will work, unless I misunderstood you. Here is a picture of the connector.
  12. I'll assume you fixed it. The 400 came up slow, but it came up after I scrolled down then back up, don't know if that's significant. I won't mention that I had a 1972 Hurst/Olds 442, 455 and loaded, man I wish I had that car...
  13. After Dyn Blin, I'm interested also, been thinking of getting something for the Bronco.
  14. That's funny! Some places I go for appointments and such, I take the Bronco because it's so much easier to park, it's like a sports car after driving the truck. These old 4x4's have a large turning radius!
  15. In the electrical, the brochure says lights on/door buzzer changed to a chime on XLT, XLT Lariat in 1986, in the 1986 brochure. Mine has a build date of 02/86, it's a XLT Lariat and it has a buzzer. Could be somebody changed it to a buzzer, but that seems kind of unlikely.
  16. Oh OK, I assumed it had to be powered out of the rear position. Good to know.
