  1. From what I've experienced with o rings, I would not use a gasket, just the o ring. Hope you get her going and no damage!
  2. Start with a small drill bit, and keep getting bigger until you almost touch the threads. Then you can dig it out or try an easy out to get the remainder out of the threads.
  3. Did you try an easy out, or does that chew up the plastic? Step drill it until you can dig it out of there. That's a bummer.
  4. I might be interested. Any word on the price? Nice find in the junkyard!
  5. Here is the Dorman,Help! handle: Here is the OEM handle I got in this thread: Looks pretty much the same, so something is a little crooked. Or just the way it is, didn't notice when I took the old one off. The upside and a big one to me is that the OEM handle works much better. The aftermarket had a catch on the right side when opening it.
  6. Great! Good job, it'll be nice when you're done. Haven't seen undercoating for awhile. Remember the commercial as a kid in Indiana, "Ziebart, it's us or rust!"
  7. OK, thanks Gary, that helps me to see what you're looking for. First, I'm not completely tech savvy, but not too bad. The pages that took a scroll down to load, I thought it was me being impatient! Don't like those as much. The 30.3 CA-CZ, the PDF, I like that because as you said you can pop it out and zoom and what not. It is also clear to me, as in focused, easier to read.
  8. Man, that's a lot of info.! I spent more time in 30.4 as that is where my truck axle is. After looking through them all, I liked 30.4 the best, I think.
  9. Pffft!.... Real tailgates have chains!! Just kiddin. Ain't nothing wrong with simplicity! Ended up getting it for the minimum bid. With shipping still cheaper than the Dorman! Thanks again 1986F150Six!
  10. I put activated charcoal filters in mine, and it stays in place. https://supermotors.net/getfile/959061/thumbnail/22wipervfilter.jpg It doesn't all come through the slots, anyway. Much of it slides down the w/s, behind the trim, and under the wiper valance into the cowl. Look at the PREVious several pics in that album, and this one: https://supermotors.net/getfile/861043/thumbnail/56wstrimleaves.jpg No, and the locks aren't the issue, anyway. It's the snout of the actual wheel hub. https://supermotors.net/getfile/72056/thumbnail/b58.jpg Steve83, thanks! I've been gently lifting the trim and vacuuming it out. May have to remove the trim.
  11. That's funny! If I would have done that the block would have cracked immediately and I'd be swimming out! But, thank God I'm a country boy!
  12. Thank you! I cleaned it out this summer and already it's piling up in there! I sweep it off and reach and grab stuff but, boy it doesn't seem to take long to get debris in there. I'll do something to try to stop it, or make it an annual clean up. I was thinking I could blow it down the sides and get in from the cab again.
  13. Do you have a thread on this? I might try this.
  14. I don't know, but I'm interested. I would like to put one on my truck. My Bronco has this style of course, much better.
