Nice trailer! Hope you get the trailer brakes working right. I've only used a cheaper controller like you said you had bought, the new ones do intrigue me. But I don't know if I'll ever tow anything with brakes again. My cargo trailer doesn't have brakes. I agree with Jim I liked surge control type trailer brakes.

I do believe that condensor looking thing is a noise suppressor. Yeah, too bad the wiring is in that condition.

From my experience I would say yes, they do not blow very well. I replaced the fan motor on the 86 I used to have and didn't notice an improvement. It did the job though. Maybe they are more efficient, enough flow with less noise!
