  1. Right. Like I said 12.7x is high if the surface charge is gone. So, that reading must have been fresh off the charger. No battery is 'perfect' and I usually see something a little below the ideal for a LA battery. Regardless, there are any number of ways to figure out if the diodes are bad. Try figuring out if the 2G "fire plug" has gone south.
  2. 12.73V is high for a battery at rest. I'm used to seeing 12.56 or so. If you do have a meter or self powered test light, simply test from the alternator lead to ground. Some DMM's will not pass enough current in 'ohms' to get the diodes to block, but a test light or diode function will show that they are bad. Or just hook the battery back up and wait a half hour, and feel the alternator case. Is it warrm? Yeah the diode(s) are bad.
  3. I redirected the lights but didn't have an opportunity to get a pic in the dark. I will try to get pics of the view in my mirrors, as that's what you need them for.
  4. I made a little (200mile) detour to meet up with Bill this morning. 'The Giving Truck' keeps on giving good parts to new homes. It was REALLY nice to finally meet him! I wish him the best with his craft fair project and hope the winds in Virginia are not as strong as they were in New England, or it may get blown down.
  5. If you don't have a meter, you have to have them test for backflow not just output. Even the free Harbor Freight meters have diode test. It looks like a line with a box and arrow in the middle.
  6. I can't imagine! I had a studio in the bad section back in the day. After the first burglary I went shopping at the surplus store. Between the runway approach strobe that you could feel from 40' away and the air raid warning siren that would make your ears bleed in an enclosed space I never had another problem after once coming back to everyone in the building out on the street.
  7. I need to aim them a bit more to the rear. But it is a lot of light!
  8. Then I set to packing for my little road trip. It was REALLY windy and Bill's AC box took a little tumble out of the bed before I could get it tied down. I think the corner is cracked, but I hope it's ok. And now I have to go pack a bag because I'm all loaded up.
  9. After three jobs I finally got the reverse lights wired. Helps to have the right crimper. Helps to bullet the right wire when LED's are polarity sensitive. Finding the right wire. Packing the Posi-tap full of dielectric grease And.....
  10. Maybe we can get Bill to do a dissection and show the failure point(s)? Kinda like when I cut the heater core in half on FTE to prove to the local experts there was no in and out.
  11. Lol! WHT do you put for Darth? NY transit doesn't ask for color. Just make, model, weight, and tag.
  12. Yeah it's a *required field* upon registration.
  13. I got the 6" shank burrs but don't have time to use them. (I try to avoid running the generator for hours at 3 on Sunday morning) So nothing will be getting done for the next week, as I'm headed down to meet Bill around 05:00 Monday. And then will be at my sisters house through the Thanksgiving holiday. Going with Lil'RedDevil, since I needed a name on the EZ-Pass and Lil'Red was taken.
  14. The white seperator is .090", compared to the red & blue at .045, and .065. You might find this as a way to keep the pressure down without resorting to drastic measures. Then again, I know nothing about return regulators.
  15. I got my lights mounted and a harness installed, but not tapped in before the rain came. I'll post pics of Posi-taps tomorrow, I guess.
  16. I found this little gem for Bill this morning..... I fixed my window crank and mounted my EZ-pass. Hope to get those LED lights wired and installed after work.
  17. I remember those little springs being a pita, so yes, it does have them. The kit I ordered was for all AVS and came with both styles Like I said the carb is good, but runs out of gas on my cammed and straight up 460.
  18. The only real difference in AVS carbs is the jetting they come with. "Street" vs "off road" is the difference between jetting for 'economy' or 'power' on the Edelbrock charts. I'm fairly sure Gary has been down this road, and has the documentation. Maybe you should consider marine fuel hose. That stuff is tough as nails and has a near inpenatrable liner.
  19. It will be available as soon as my new engine goes in with Its 750. }> Idk, what do you think is fair? I paid $128.50, bought an ~$30 rebuild kit, a new choke element and an $89!!!!! dual feed fuel line. Spent a day going through it. The 1826 seems a good match for my 460 but a little short of wind on top.
  20. As a utility light on the flatbed they work great. I'll report back when I get them mounted on my truck. I have not found the Zf plug. I haven't had time to get back there and search in daylight
