  1. I already have 120 LED 1156's in my stock taillight housings and they are bright. 1Y000019 I bought these as work lights to mount low on the headache rack of the flatbed so you can see under the car you're trying to get hooks on. The option of a pack of four 27W 2160 lumen lights for $25.66 delivered just seemed like I should get them @ $6.50 a piece. If I do the rsk and put 350 blocks in the rear the stock lights will be up higher and the dark area due to the bumper will be bigger. They certainly make a huge difference on the tow truck. Sometimes eBay has better gems than Amazon.
  2. After seeing the red paint thread I'm thinking Lil' Red-Hot, or maybe Lil' Red Devil. From what Scott has said the engine will be very linear. And while it won't have the aluminum heads or as much cam as your engine, it will be a huge improvement over a stock carbureted 460.
  3. I got some new backup lights for my truck today. Do you think the heatsink is big enough?
  4. My 650 Thunder will be up for sale soon. For the Holley you can get the quick change spring kit, so you don't have to take everything apart.
  5. Well, I have 272 pounds of welding electrode!!!!! I upscaled the crappy little cart with HF's finest wheels. I moved the axle back by using a piece of 1x2 box, which helps keep the cart from tipping backwards.
  6. My '85 GT was Performance Red. The truck was 2E Light Canyon Red. Now it's Ben Moore Superspec OSHA Safety Red.
  7. Big Red, maybe. or Smokey. Or some sleeper name. It is just a hard working truck, everyday. I think I need to hook up my foot pedal because it is inconvenient to adjust speed with the dial. It is always good to practice foot control. For TIG, but I'm probably going to need it with half again as much power as this truck had stock. Anyway, I have cutters coming in today. And a little inspection light to dedicate to the vacuum adapter. And a torch to practice with. And, and, and
  8. Probably big enough to run the battery cables through... Gary could bank some agm or gel cells (anything sealed) in there and run his winch all day long.
  9. Well, I finally got the baby torch set to go with my baby tanks and cart. With some heat I hope to be able to get the manifolds off the engine without tipping the cart over. Then it will be time to strip the '95 engine and measure things up for a master rebuild kit. Then confer with Scott on the valvetrain. With the damage I've already done to the seats in *this* head I wonder if bigger valves are the way to go? I'll also need to cc the heads and possibly equalize volumes. Hope I can find my burette and plate. Depending on what this engine really has when it's finished I may have to rename the truck.
  10. Get it back???? To what? Stock at 7.8:1? I'm going with the '88-'92 5cc dish pistons at whatever deck will allow me to run 93 R+M/2 pump premium. Even if the slugs end up out of the hole. Kinda wish E85 was widely available around here.
  11. Unshroud the valves by cutting straight down to the peremiter of the head gasket. And lay back the chamber right from the seat.
  12. So, I'm having a hard time reaching deep inside enough into the ports without banging up the seats with the collet. Longer burrs on order. Maybe I should work on the chambers? I did make an adapter yesterday. There was no way to even get my fingertip past the Thermactor hump. Now....
  13. Gary, I had mail when I got home last night. The dash pad piece is perfect for paint! Unfortunately the little square box didn't fare so well. The seat belt (& little bungee! ) seem fine, but I'll have to check out the switch and especially the governor that says "DO NOT DROP" Longer burrs shipped by Amazon. I banged up a few seats with the collet trying to reach deeper into the ports. I did manage to finish the vacuum adapter. That will be a big help if my little generator can keep everything running.
  14. I did make some progress. Not too much more, with a bent burr. And I definitely need some longer ones. Amazon has burrs, Prime, so I'm going to be waiting.
  15. There's really nothing wrong with Posi-tap connectors as long as you fill them with silicone grease first. Scotchlok and the even more pathetic knockoffs are at the other end of the spectrum.
  16. I haven't gotten to making it yet. My tiny generator has a hard time running anything more than the lights and grinder *or* vacuum. I did get an inverter at Harbor Freight yesterday.
  17. I'm really happy with just my Ringke fusion case and a screen protector. As for what I did today (so far) I spent some time roughing out the ports in one of my heads. I also bent a burr and nicked an intake seat when the cord caught on the other end of the head. Hard to get good pics when working in a shipping container.
  18. So maybe still too much for a 2" lift? Can you measure them against the stock length lines as well? Thanks!
  19. I don't understand the point of these armored cases anymore. I had a Otterbox back when the only smart phone available was from that fruity company that puts form before function. There are phones on the market that are IP67, there are phones with shatterPROOF screens, there are phones that have expandable memory, or allow you root access. Mine is machined from aluminum bullet, and hard anodized. The only reason I have a polycarbonate bumper sleeve on it is because Qi won't pass through metal, And I need something to keep the wireless charging sticker from snagging on my pocket. So i customize it by cutting a picture postcard (remember those?) and slipping it in the back. If you're going to make a fashion statement do it in style. Glass may be radio transparent and resistant to most liquids but -to me- it doesn't make a wise choice for something that rides in my pocket 18/24. I need to not lose my grip when wet. I put it down on concrete and stone. I'm a dirty individual that some times gets sand or grinding grit in my clothing. I knock it off the nightstand on occasion. I don't need to pay more than my annual car insurance for a frail tracking beacon. /rant off/ I guess....
  20. Just get a pair of earbuds. It's not like you have any fidelity from the phone over the grinder noise anyhow. One nice thing about an electric grinder, they don't get freezing cold in your hand. The weight is a little too much but I don't imagine a suspension system would offer enough flexibility.
  21. It's working now. I want to print some of Scott's pictures from his website so I don't have to expose my tablet to all the iron filings
  22. Just getting done with today's running around. I'm going to put the Chineseium die grinder back together and I'll be porting in the morning, before work.
  23. I expected it would last more than an hour..... It ok I've got a metric snap ring now
  24. Yeah I know, I'm a rocket geek and I follow all this stuff On Nov 12, 2017 1:45 PM, "85lebaront2 [via Bullnose Enthusiasts]" <redacted_email_address> wrote:
