  1. I think I have the small one I took out of Big Blue. You can have it for the shipping cost. But, I know shipping costs to Canada are high.
  2. They are adjustable, just not externally adjustable. You have to remove the bowls and adjust them that way.
  3. Glad you joined. Looking forward to following your work and learning from your knowledge.
  4. Well, I don't think I've EVER been into anything this far. Probably 'cause I had a job that at one point in time had me turning in over 100 hours/week. So there was just no time for anything else. However, it is my my genes. My mother collected brick. Yes, brick. And the plural of "brick" is "brick". If you don't believe me just ask the International Brick Collector's Association, of which my mother was a major player. I just went to their site and found something that gave me goose bumps. The pic below is from their home page and is their Summer 2004 publication and has my mother's brick on it. I'm sure of that 'cause I hand painted that Columbia Kansas one in the lower right corner. So, it is natural that I'm into something. And since Dad had an '81 F150 he loved, I guess that's my story.
  5. That's a serious piece! You must have a LOT of pressure on that. And no bracket on the firewall?????
  6. Welcome! So, the JunkCollector handle came with the Dodges? No prob, I have a '69 Bee, so I speak Chizzler. Where's home? We have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map on the menu) and we'd be happy to add you if we had a town, zip, or somesuch. Anyway, you are now a full-fledged member and can post anywhere on the forum. Glad you joined.
  7. Wow! That broke it out right at the bend, which would be expected. And it really does look like the wrong flex plate. So, did you get Rusty home?
  8. Oops. Missed the edit. Guess you'd better find out what you have.
  9. What was your build date? This says prior to 10/83 there's the 1" and afterwards 15/16"
  10. You are now on the map. And that lets me see that you aren't far at all from Cory. No wonder that you know him.
  11. Man, that think looks MEAN! But I can't imagine spinning a 460 to those lofty R's.
  12. Yes, REALLY nice project. Looking forward to watching it come to fruition.
  13. Welcome!! Glad you (finally) joined! You are now a full-fledged member and can post anywhere. Maybe a thread about your amazing project? We have a map and could put you on if we had a city. (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu.)
  14. Oh no! Somehow I've conveyed the wrong message. I DO need help, in oh so many ways: You and the other admins help dramatically All of y'all that answer questions help way more than you could ever know. In the beginning I felt like I needed to not only read but respond to every question. But you folks have picked up the gauntlet and are answering most of them yourselves, which frees me to work on the website itself as well as get things done on my truck(s). I feel like we've turned a big corner. Organization: I know there are better ways to do it, I just don't know what they are. Recently I created a new page and Shaun, thank goodness, pointed out that I already had that info on another page. And there are lots of times I can't find what I know we have. So I need help organizing things. I can do the background work of getting into the right spots, but need to have some help figuring out where and what those spots might be. Correction: I get things wrong, so I appreciate the gentle, or not so gentle, nudges to correct my mistakes. As for keeping out of trouble, let's just say she knows where I am and what I'm up to.
  15. Ok Matt, see what you think, please. There are lots of options on how large to make the pics and I can easily adjust them. So let me know what changes you'd like me to make. It is your "page".
  16. I'll convert to serial and the link worked......
  17. My career was in managing IT professionals, so I think I'd have to exclude the part time job, the full time job, and the career. And, it hasn't been a lifelong passion. So that doesn't leave much between: A hobby A part time job A full time job A career A lifelong passion And a disorder....
  18. In the immortal words of : "Hm, you're a little bit late on that one, Charlie." Or, "What was your first clue?" Yes, I crossed over a long time ago. I started the web site several years ago and the forum has been up almost three years. But I've only been "into" Bullnose trucks about ten years. So I've progress, or is that "gone downhill", rather rapidly.
  19. I agree. I'll confess that I didn't watch the video. Didn't feel I had to if he is making statements like that. If it was a carb then I might agree that a rebuilt one can be better. Not that it will be better, but that it can be. The reason there is that the throttle plate of a carb wears and the re-builders measure the wear and reject those that are worn too far. But a home rebuilder probably wouldn't. So there's a chance that rebuilt can be better. But in the case of the calipers, the wear isn't on the body of the caliper. At least not on those I've seen. So if you are replacing everything but the body you have essentially a new caliper assembly. And if you use top shelf parts you probably have a better caliper than one from a rebuilder 'cause they probably don't use the most expensive parts. One of the problems with this internet age is that it is so easy to publish. And then you become "the expert". Trust me, I get email all the time asking for this or that because I have a web site and that must mean I'm an expert. But I'm not! I just have more Ford documentation than most people have - or even should have. But that doesn't mean I know what's in the documentation.
  20. I put the pics side-by-side with the text I thought went with them. But the mobile version doesn't support that, so they go serially. However, with the extra width of the PC's monitor they get put beside the text. Do you want me to put the pics in-line, meaning just as you had them originally? I can do that and then there won't be much, if any, difference between mobile and PC. Yes? As for the pics, I just snagged the ones from your post. But if you want to email the originals they might be better.
  21. From Ford's Master Parts Catalog. That's a 5049 page "book" that lists all of the parts in these trucks as well as has illustrations for many of them. And, by the way, my copy of the MPC is special. I believe there are only two in existence that contain all of the pages they should. A member on here came up with another version of the MPC and I compared all of the pages between his and mine and found several that don't exist in the commercially available versions. So he and I have the only copies of the complete MPC. That's what many of the 600+ pages in the Documentation section come from. That and other Ford publications like factory shop manuals, technical service bulletins, dealer facts books, EVTM's, wiring diagrams, and brochures. Hard to argue with factory documentation. It isn't always right, but it sure beats internet lore.
  22. I don't understand that logic. If you go to the parts store and buy a caliper many/most are rebuilt. Do you trust someone that's doing it as quickly as possible to do a better job than you can do? As for something else being rotted, there is nothing else. The caliper assembly consists of: In the two sets of calipers I've rebuild there was zero wear in the bore. (And even if there was a rebuilder may well use the body anyway.) So if you replace the piston, the o-ring, and the boot the only thing left is the bleed valve. And in the calipers for Big Blue I replaced them. So I have calipers that are every bit as good as the ones I could have purchased, and probably better as I used top shelf parts and know they were put together correctly. Now, I'm not saying you need to rebuild yours. I'm just saying that there is nothing else to rot.
