  1. Both LMC and JBG, as well as many others, sell a plug-in harness. No need for cutting, soldering, etc. That's the way I'd go. There's a discussion about it here: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Lighting-tp66231p66674.html
  2. That's 'spensive! As for the pulley, unless it is in the original packaging the seller won't know the part number. So they'll be listing it via ID # that's on it. So for part # E0TZ 8509-B you would be looking for E2TE-BA. Or, sometimes the manufacturer put the whole code on, so it might be E2TE 8509-BA.
  3. That is a REALLY NICE Bronco! You've done well. Chosen wisely. If by "rewire the headlights" you mean you are adding a headlight relay harness, then I'm very much in agreement. These trucks need that in the worst way as the wiring and switches were marginal when new, and they are far from new.
  4. I used to own a Murano, and they are less bad looking than this thing. (Note that I didn't say "better looking". Neither can be far enough up on the scale to say that.) Looks more like a cartoon. Or, would that be a trucktoon?
  5. Thanks, John. But the work bench you see that is loaded is actually being used as storage of some of the MANY parts that have come off Big Blue and/or Huck and are waiting to go back on Big Blue. So, while it might not count as a messy, loaded work bench, I have a 4 x 8' work table in the other room that is choc-a-block. I'm horrible at keeping things neat. As for the questions, you gave me a break yesterday. Maybe 'cause of the hot weather?
  6. Yep, the 300 is a workhorse! As for "back in the day", those were my days. In fact, I have a '69 Bee, sorta the little brother to the GTX, although they are Dodge and Plymouth, in that order.
  7. Fords doing what they do best. In this one we had to move this 1960 Fleetside to get access to the 1965 Malibu. The Fleetside was guarding the door to the barn where the Malibu was stashed. Brought the Fleetside back that day to be restored. Took the Malibu to storage that day and went back to get it months later so it can be restored.
  8. Yep, my Fords have towed many Chevy and Dodge vehicles.
  9. Thanks. But I have a rather extensive library, including: Master Parts Catalogs: I have several versions of the 1980 - 89 MPC, including two different versions of the "final" 1994 copy on CD. Plus, with the help of another member I have one of only two copies that have several of the missing pages from that version added in. And I have two versions of it on microfiche. Factory Shop Manuals: 1981 & '85 EVTM's: all Bullnose years Technical Service Bulletins: every one from 1979 into the mid-90's Brochures: Not all of them, but a pretty decent start, as shown here: Documentation/Literature. Other: As shown in Literature there are other documents or booklets included, like body builders guides, owner guides, operators manuals, etc Anyway, I'm always on the lookout for more literature!
  10. Generous offer. But my two sets of those books, 1981 and '85, and pretty well hacked up and on the site as pdf's. Yes, there's lots more that can be put out there, but it'll all come over time.
  11. Have you found the page at Documentation/HVAC/HVAC Systems? It has the section from the 1985 factory shop manual on factory-installed A/C systems.
  12. It isn't part of that set, but it is extremely valuable. Never fear, it is here.
  13. I know the "burnt out" feeling. I mowed and did the trimming yesterday, in spite of the heat warning. I was toast.
  14. Yep, that is interesting. I got the feeling that it is a Canadian booklet given the discussion of Canadian standards on electrical interference and noise pollution rather than US. Did I misunderstand? They don't seem to say how many pages there are, but it doesn't look like many.
  15. Those aren't badly priced. The books are in good shape and would come in extremely helpful for those with an '86. Having said that, we have part of that info on the site, with more to come.
  16. Nice trucks! And, you are now on the map. But, that tag appears to be what is commonly called a "buck" tag. There are frequently several of them, like on the front of the bed, on the radiator support, and on the firewall. And I don't know how to decode them. Do you have a certification label on the driver's door jamb? That can be decoded.
  17. Yep, spent some time there. Miss Ices as well. Anyway, I see a DS-II ignition module, so that's good. No TFI. Dave is guessing a fuel system problem, and that's probably it. But I've seen situations where the battery voltage got so low the engine wouldn't pull due to a really poor spark. But now that you have it you can figure all that out. Congratulations!!!
  18. LOL it was the big floor fan in the garage I had pointing at me when working over the fender. I found this picture https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ford-trucks.com-vbulletin/843x500/screen_shot_2018_02_09_at_10_24_01_pm_383fb6c9dadb8ecacba20fd69e8978c2043c068a.png and some other posts on that other forum shows that I may need a different water pump pulley. The other thing is the PS pump is using the front crank pulley groove where it should be in the center one. Now what may be a cause is I am using the GM type PS pump and the way the mounting bracket is mounted to the front of the timing cover may be an issue on moving it back. So tomorrow I move the truck back to my garage and pull the compressor & PS pump to see if I can wove it back to use the center crank groove then see if the AC pump will line up. But it looks like I will need a water pump pulley for AC. Dave ---- You do know we have a page on pulleys: Documentation/Engines/Pulleys?
  19. The Hagerty site isn't making any sense to me. It didn't give me any place to discuss some rather expensive options, like the new ZF5 and the D60 up front. They are just assuming it is a box stock '85 F250. I'm really confused. Years ago I remember having talked with an insurance company that wanted to know all of those details. I'm going to have to do some more research.
  20. Cory - I've already tried to get a quote and got this: "Based on the information provided, your application does not qualify for our program at this time. If you have any questions about this result, please call us at 877.922.4951 referencing the quote number 75032187." I told them it is an '85 F250 RCLB 4x4 w/a 460 with 360 HP, will be driven 5000 miles/year and be used for offroad & towing. And these were the price options, and I picked Excellent/$16,000. #1 Concours #2 Excellent #3 Good #4 Fair $23,700 $16,000 $8,900 $4,300 I'll call them on Monday and see what the deal is.
  21. Are you just towing it up onto a rollback? Or towing it a block or two to your house? I ask because I want you to be safe. But if you have a strap you can connect to the frame right behind the bumper. Maybe go under the bumper and up over the frame and put the hook on the bottom of the frame? While you are out, maybe in the morning, a few World's Fair doughnuts?
  22. Welcome! We have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we would love to add you if you'd give us a city. On the certification label, post a pic and I'll see if I can decode it. And, post pics of your truck. Plus, please add a signature so we can remember where you are and all about your truck.
  23. Ahhh! Perfect! So there's a bushing that just barely slips on the smaller pump outlet and then larger hose fits. And the bit about the two-part hose and the grenade fits what David read me from the catalog today, that there are two hoses. He even had the exact outlet sizes, which I think I wrote down in the shop. So I should be able to find that bushing given the sizes. I'm going to have to keep a list of all the different parts. Thanks, Bill.
  24. If it is turning really slowly then yes, you have a problem. That may be a bad starter, bad cables, or even a bad battery. You may have two problems - electrical and fuel.
  25. Yep and I thought the hoses were going to be the PITA part Wife is not happy I got to put more money into this. When we picked up the compressor she asked then how much more? Told her hoses, dryer, belt and to charge the system. I am so close I can almost feel the cold air blowing ...... oh wait I was standing in front of the fan Dave ---- Don't get too close to that fan!
