  1. I've lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and even the UK. Plus I've visited all of the 50 states and have spent time in countries from Nicaragua to Russia. Each brought a different slant on things and I'm glad I got to see them. Some I wouldn't want to live in and others I'd love to live in. But they've all helped me to see the world in a different way than if I'd never got to see them.
  2. I like it! You will certainly appreciate the change and all of the work will be well worth it.
  3. That's cool! Well done! And glad you like the site.
  4. LOL! Each time I'm sure I've done all I had to, there's something that happens. Divide the remaining total (2%) by two, for each new step forward. Next will be 1%. Then 0.5%... and so on. We never reach zero. Love it!!!! Looks great! But I agree, we never get done.
  5. No, I've not. As said, things have been rather busy for me at the moment. But I'm glad that bit has been fixed. Carry on!
  6. David has a point. Has it been proven that the mechanical advance is working properly and starts pretty quickly off idle? I've not been following this very closely with all else going on at the moment.
  7. The process to use and the torque specs are in the factory shop manual section on our page at Documentation/Suspension & Steering/Front Suspension and then the Instructions tab.
  8. I know you are. But doubt that many of the others are. So I said that for their benefit, whomever "they" may be. I'm REALLY looking forward to the move to InVision. I know there will be some bumps in the road, but there's so much more road! So many places to explore. New horizons.
  9. Unfortunately no. We have a tab for it on the page at Documentation/HVAC/HVAC Systems but no entry. So if you find one please let me know and I'll update the page.
  10. I think that is a good idea. But since we don't know what nor how many files we will have at any point in time maybe you should just put in a link.... oops, that won't work. You can't put in a link to a non-clickable menu entry. So maybe the best thing you can do is to say that we have a set of pages with 3D files available at Documentation/3D Printing in the menu. I have a feeling, with nothing to substantiate it, that when we get to know InVision we will discover new ways of doing things. But right now we are limited by the two different products we are using - Nabble and Weebly. Both have limitations and we are living in the overlap of those two.
  11. I don't know how the vacuum system works on an '87 but suspect it is just like an '86 and the recirc door only gets vacuum in A/C and Off. W/o A/C you probably don't have that position so getting vacuum to the valve isn't easy. A manual valve is easy.
  12. In the back of my mind I think I assumed that the two had different purposes, with the thread being to discuss additive manufacturing and the page being to provide a place for us to store files we can use on 3D printers. But I'd not really thought about it. So let's discuss it here and see what we want to do. Here are some thoughts of mine: At the moment Chris/ckuske and I are the only ones with editing capability of the Weebly site while any member can comment or upload files on the Nabble thread. I said "Nabble" because I don't actually know whether InVision supports uploading files other than pics for storage, nor how big those files can be. I set the menu item called "3D Printing" up to be non-clickable for two reasons. First, you have problems getting to the sub-pages when the menu item is clickable. Second, I didn't think we had anything to say about 3D printing itself and were just using this set of pages to hold uploaded files. But if we want to make it clickable we could then put a link on it to the thread. What are your thoughts, Jim? And what about the rest of y'all? It doesn't have to be just the two of us.
  13. Nice job Gary! Simply cropping the pict before posting does the job. Thanks, Jeff. Somehow I doubt the judges at the shows, plural, will crop like that. Maybe I'll park where the sun can't get in there? I've not tried to clean that up, so will give it a try. Didn't know it looked that bad until the flash lit it up.
  14. Engine looks great, and the seats look fantastic! Gonna be a really nice truck.
  15. Minor update. I posted this in WHYDTYTT. Added the rubber trim to the behind the doors, on the cab corners.
  16. I'm not sure what part you are wanting the PN for. Maybe the valve to shut the coolant off? If so it is on the page at Documenation/HVAC/HVAC Systems and then the Heat Shutoff tab and then the Vacuum Valve tab. But, by the way, heed the caution on that page, which says "However, it only works on trucks with the 1980 - 82 HVAC controls as the 1983 - 86 controls can't be easily modified for this use. But, you can swap the earlier controls into a later truck, as explained on the Swapping Controls tab above." Anyway, read the page. And if you don't want to make that mod you can tap into the vacuum line under the hood that goes to the recirculate door and use it to control the shut off valve. The recirc door closes in Max A/C so you'll not have the heat shut off in Vent, but you will in Max.
  17. We now have a new section - 3D Printing. You can see it in the menu: Documentation/3D Printing. And as of today the only page is the Brake Booster Pushrod Gauge page, which is a tool that Vivek designed and printed. But the files are on there for any of you to print. Having said that, while the factory shop manual calls for it to be 2 15/16" wide he found that it was a bit too wide for his '78 Bronco. But it worked perfectly on his '86 F250 parts truck. So we need to remember what the stud spacing is for the various Bullnose trucks to ensure it'll fit everything. Anyway, thanks Vivek!
  18. Between continuing to disassemble the 216 from the '50 and adding pages for 3D printing I decided to do something on Big Blue. After all, our show is coming four weeks from today, and I plan to take BB to my home town two weeks later for the Last Run show. So I need to work on some details. Today was the rubber on the trim behind the doors on the cab corners. It has been missing since I got the truck and people have donated the full trim pieces, but it is a pain to get up into the corner to replace the whole piece. So I peeled the rubber off the trim pieces and glued it on to the trim that is installed on the truck using 3M Hi-Strength 90 Spray Adhesive. I've used that successfully to hold emblems, like the Lariat one, in the chrome surround so I know it works well. Here's a before & after: (But it looks like I need to cover that rust showing on the bed. It is just where a camper tiedown was. It isn't normally seen but the flash sure picked it up. )
  19. Got the files but emailed back asking for a bit of explanation.
  20. There is a difference somewhere in the F100, F150, F250, F350, F450 range on the stud spacing. I'll have to dredge up that info if someone else doesn't come up with it. But for now can you email me the file? I can put it up with the caveat that we are researching the width issue.
  21. Well done! By the way, if you do the same thing to Port 1 you can run a vacuum shutoff valve to stop the flow of coolant to the heater core in both Vent & Max A/C.
  22. I have the page up: Documentation/3D Printing/Brake Booster Pushrod Gauge. And the illustration from the FSM is on there, as shown below. But it shows that the surface of the booster isn't even between the studs. So you'll want to ensure you catch the high spot.
  23. Do you want to revise the drawing with the smaller width and then send me the file?
  24. All of the gauges, save for the ammeter, are the same. You may have gotten by with it, but when I tested to create that writeup on the gauges I smoked a few resistors. I probably ought to rewrite that page to include those calculations so people will understand the amount of power they'll be playing with. But right now I'm writing up a 3D page...
