It has a head that folds front and back 180*
Two light levels and a pinpoint led on the tip.
(At least it doesn't have the seizure provoking flash mode you have to cycle through every time you want to shut it off!)

Charges with a micro usb.
Cable, but no wallwart included.
It is BRIGHT on high!
Sticks quite well thanks to the large diameter neodymium magnet on its tail.

Here's my plan:  I have 2 or 3 brand new Ford lights, so am I thinking of putting one on each side of the hood.  First I will do away with the micro switches and run new grounds and then run them both off a switch on the inside of the drivers fender.  What do you guys think?

Thanks Jim, that looks nice!

I’ve joked that the older I get the better my work light collection gets!

If keeping with the originals what is the gain by getting rid of the internal switches?

Really like that image of the lit up bay and will have to keep an eye out for that HF light.

My only thought with the switches is that in the day time you will be able to shut them off.

If they're LED does it really matter?

1/10 of an amp isn't much at all.
1/40th the 4W #90 bulb.

I agree with Jim in that if you change to led there won't be a concern with power usage or heat. If you do want to add a switch I wouldn't mess with the internal switch or the ground but just add one inline with the connector by the brake booster.
If the hood is up the internal switch will be making contact anyways so no point removing it.

I ordered four 300mm sections of 12V 6k LED tape light with 1m tails from Amazon this morning.

I'm thinking 2 across the front of the hood and 1 by the hinge on each side.
I guess ill figure it out when they get here.

I like that approach.  Gotta see how it works.  Could easily wire that into the mercury switch in the underhood light and power all of them.

I don't own an underhood light, but a do have a few Honeywell thermostats...

I'm going to change my power source and use the provided power supply IF I can find a plug to match that socket.

So the lights will come on at a preset temp?

No, I get it.  Mercury switch in a Ford.

Thank you Gary!

I would have thought it's like the AC clutch/Stator connector, but I really haven't looked too close.
Those are available.

And if Gary doesn't I know I do. Had it in my hand tonight while going through my box of spare wiring/connectors.

I've got some time to figure it out.
Even Prime, things are looking like they are a week out due to the Covid.

Jim - Bad news.  I have an extra one of the cross-hood cables with the right connectors.  But, it is mated to an underhood light, and I don't want to part them.  So, I'm going to send you both.

Having said that, the lens has gotten toasty at some point, and the wires coming out of the box are ..... OLD.  Hard.  Breaking.  So the light needs to be gone through, cleaned, and re-wired.

Can send it one box w/the other thing if you want.

Gary, please no.

I have LED's coming, I just need to know the plug.
Is it the same as a 3G stator, or a AC clutch?
