  1. I don't know what that is, but it's not a Flareside part that I'm aware of.
  2. I was only a little kid in the Disco era, but my Mom's Maverick (with under dash tape deck) had a Blondie tape in it for years, and my stepfather's 1978 Ford 4x4 (also with an under dash tape deck) had Pink Floyd's The Wall in it, also for years. Meanwhile, even as a kid...the song on a constant loop in my head would have been mostly Jerry Reed's East Bound and Down, or Waylon Jennings theme to the Dukes of Hazzard...lol.
  3. Still out there Ron?>.. I dragged home some more backyard Bullnose junk today. This time an old 1980 4x4 Flareside. For now I'll say that it's a parts truck instead of a project truck...but it came with enough good Bullnose stuff (and Flareside stuff) I grabbed it so that it could even be a donor for another non-Bullnose or Non-Flareside that could be converted.
  4. This truck has been for sale a couple times in the past few years....it seems to move around a little bit. I thought that one of the owners even posted on here once.
  5. Dave, I can only speak in reference to the half tons, but on them the bars were always in the front, at least from 1980-1996. Also, I can't answer about the bar sizes on the F250's. I know the bars were basically all the same on the F100 and F150's on both 2wd and 4x4. On the 4x4 trucks the rear bar end links attach to the bottom of the frame where as the 2wd attaches to the side of the frame. The bars are the same, just different end links. The sway bars I have both came from early 1990's trucks.
  6. Dave, Rear bar is in front of the rear axle and has a curve that goes up and over the rear diff. See below. The bar's and the end links are all the same...all that changed were the brackets that mount to the axle tubes, and I'm sure you could modify the 8.8 brackets to fit the 9" rear (or simply fabricate new brackets).
  7. Dave, You can install front and rear swaybars from any other F150 right up until 1996. They literally bolt right in. I know you could make the 8.8 brackets fit a 9" without any issue (or just make new brackets). By comparison, you will find way WAY more swaybars on the 1987-1996 trucks than you ever will on a Bullnose. Next time I'm at Chris's place we could pull a swaybar off an 8.8 and see how close the brackets will fit on a 9" rearend. I know he has that stuff laying around.
  8. We have one, but rarely use it. We run a load through it every month or two to exercise it, but that's it. With only two of us in the house, it takes a week to even fill the dishwasher with dishes...lol.
  9. So I finally got to go have a better look at this old relic today. To answer your question about the bumper...it actually IS on straight...lol. The left front rad support mount is separated (well, actually, the mounted is rusted out like they all do around here) so the cab and front clip are sitting straight, but the ground is not level so I guess the frame is flexed where it's sitting. I'll be picking it up next weekend. I need to go over it better and see what is salvageable...but it was cheap enough I can junk it and keep the Flareside parts for another truck if need be.
  10. This must be the same truck;). https://austin.craigslist.org/cto/d/austin-1986-f250-4x4-lariat-460/7152657538.html
  11. Gary, Did you see the F250 Bullnose that Christopher Lott just listed for sale? It reminded me of your truck. It's gorgeous! https://austin.craigslist.org/cto/d/austin-1986-f250-4x4-lariat-460/7152657538.html
  12. It still seems a bit buggy today too Gary, or is it just me?
  13. I bought a new desktop PC in 1999 (I think that's when it was)....a Pentium 3 with Windows ME and a huge at the time 20GB hard drive. I remember the guy that put it together for me telling me that I would never ever fill that hard drive...ha! To his credit, that computer did last us a very long time, all things considered.
  14. You are both on the list. Thanks. I think I'm on the list but I'll reply here just in case;).
  15. I agree. Between the border issues and my decrease in income, I think virtual will be as good as it gets for me. We were 100% Covid-19 free here for two plus weeks...and now we've had 3 new cases in as many days...all people that traveled from outside. What a mess. I'd absolutely love to roadtrip my Bull to Skiatook. Gary, you need to move to New England!!...lol. However it works out I'd love to take part, and besides you guys should have a funny Canadian accent to make fun of, EH?...lol. I could get some BBQ takeout and have it while we're together (virtually together).
  16. I like it. Notice the 9” rear end. It’s odd how it showed up in some of the later trucks, but a 302 and 4spd was guaranteed to have a 9”. The same truck with an AOD would have an 8.8 rear end.
  17. Gary, I guess I wasn't paying attention as I didn't even know the forum had gone down. I usually check-in A LOT, but we are on vacation and visiting family and friends for a few days in the RV, and I haven't been online much at all. When I first tried to reply to this message (at around 7:18 Atlantic time) I got the message below...seems a bit odd for that hour of the day. Still some bugs maybe?
  18. Gary, Frame is rusty, yes...but I've certainly seen a lot worse. I didn't get underneath to get a real good look at it, but the truck had been undercoated at some point in it's life, and that's a good thing. It doesn't save them completely, but often times it makes them worth fixing. I don't mind patching holes...but I do have limits in how much work I'm willing to take on. Once the front cab mounts collapse, I'm out. Cab corners and holes in the floor are one thing, but once the structure starts to sag on the frame...Rembrant is out. I can't go see it until the weekend, so I won't have any more info until then. He claims that the Flareside bed is in pretty decent condition, so we'll see.
  19. Thanks David! Ya know, going to the second drive-in event that was further from home was pretty cool...just to go somewhere different. I was excited about actually going to some car shows this season, but with the Covid of course they are all cancelled. Oh well...there's always next year! In the meantime, I'll take in what I can. I had at least one guy stop by and let me know that although he wasn't a Ford guy, he still thought the truck looked great! Going to have a look at another truck in the weeds this weekend. It's not even all that far away...maybe 50 miles. I stopped by the other day but the guy wasn't home. I didn't get to look at it too closely, but it is obviously a 1980-1981 (Certification label was missing). It is a 300/6 truck with auto trans, 4x4 Flareside (Bed is disassembled and stored in the house). The Swiss Cheese frame is in questionable condition...it would need a little bit of repair work at the least, if not complete replacement.

  21. That is a lovely little truck. I'd rock it in a heartbeat, just like it is (OK, maybe I'd install a set of wheels and tires, but that's it).
