  1. My truck had one of these (poorly installed). I still have it in the parts boxes somewhere I think.
  2. Oh boy is it ever rare...these things have been obsolete since the 90's are really REALLY hard to find. Nice find David.
  3. David, the colors are quite different, but it's not the armrest that is the issue...it's the paint I used that is obviously too dark. I was going to send you some pictures. I might paint the armrest just to keep it all uniform, but I don't think there's much left in my paint cans besides fumes...
  4. I just talked to a good friend of mine on the phone. His sister and her husband both have the virus...they'd be early 40's the two of them. They sent them home to quarantine. They have cold like symptoms, but that's it. I haven't been paying much attention to the news lately, so I don't know what the situation is like currently. Everything is fairly well locked down up here. As of a couple days ago we had 122 cases, but only 3 in the hospital still, and several considered resolved.
  5. I've had a bunch of Toyota extra-cabs over the years that had the center facing jump seats and they're really just for kids or something...nothing else could fit back there...lol. They're cute seats though;).
  6. Terrapin himself (Jason?) commented on FB a week or two ago that he thought he still had one left. Somebody may have grabbed it already...not sure. I thought the JBG braces were made by somebody else though, no?
  7. Ray, I probably did at one point as I was trying to gather all of the parts to built the '85 that I had briefly. I have since abandoned that project and everything I had collected for it is now gone.
  8. I think the XE250H is quite a popular choice for a truck 351w. I was going to install one in my 302, but ended up going with the XE256H. It works really well, and it sounds absolutely awesome, but in hindsight I think I would have been happier and better off with the XE250H. Just my 2 cents worth. In all of the reading that I did, I found a lot of people that were really pleased with the XE250H, and not one single complaint or regret in installing it.
  9. Since unmolested Bronco's so rarely pop up for sale I figured I'd post this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/274321212834 Hubcaps and white walls?...doesn't get any more stock-ish in appearance than that.
  10. This same seller keeps listing trucks on Ebay for sale in SoCal. This one sure is pretty. I'm not all that crazy about black, but it sure looks good when it's all shined up. https://www.ebay.com/itm/193399463315 And, I know nothing about the Supercab trucks, but are these the optional center facing jump seats? I don't think I've seen these before.
  11. Ron, Do you have contact info for Christopher Lott? He has a Facebook page for the Freewheelin' Broncos, etc. He has had a whole bunch of factory paint 2-tone Flaresides, and he probably still has a few now in mid restoration. I betcha he'd be able to answer the question.
  12. Gary, A lot of places won't ship things like paint or other fluids (aerosols) internationally, and when I ordered the paint online from LMC, I was expecting a call saying that they wouldn't ship it, but sure enough it showed up. Thanks Jim. I'm picking at it bit by bit. The weather has been a bit wonky lately. Two weeks ago it felt like spring and I had the truck out for a few days running around. It has since snowed again like 3 times, and each time the salt trucks are out. This time of year it melts quick and is often gone the next day, but they salt regardless. And the wife has me working on the RV too... Anyway, the old Flareside will be all shined up her weekly car nights soon.
  13. As I mentioned above, Scott suggested a less restrictive air filter. Are there options other than K&N or a K&N style filter for this?>.. A paper element filter is a paper element filter...don't they all flow about the same? Found this decal in one of the manuals last night. Kind of odd. Don't know where it was supposed to be. I guess to indicate that it was set up as an RV chassis and not something else....but at 31ft, it's not like it would end up being anything else either...
  14. That was quite a good video I must say. Thanks for sharing. I'm not real keen on K&N filters anyway, so I'd not likely ever install one. I can see their benefit on race engines that are getting torn down all the time anyway, but on a low revving street machine, there's not much sense really.
  15. I used the Colorbond blue that is sold by LMC, and the pictures/discussion in the thread below are kinda what sold me on it. I thought it looked really good on his panels, and I've seen a couple on the FB pages done with the same stuff. http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Interior-paint-color-blue-tp10922.html I know that SEM probably has better matches in the factory colors, but at the end of the day, I don't always have easy access to the same products that you guys have in the USA. While LMC's reviews are not always the best, one thing LMC does offer is hassle free and inexpensive international shipping. Many other sellers do not ship outside of the US, and if they do...it's either a big hassle, or it's expensive, or both.
  16. Finally got around to doing some interior painting this morning. The door panels and kick panels had been painted previously in an incorrect light blue color. They didn't look terrible, but the color was just off and I've been waiting to get them painted before reinstalling them. And a little while later with a few coats of Colorbond... I put my original (non-painted) A-pillar posts along side of the new paint as a comparison, and the new paint is definitely on the darker side. Of course my 36 year old a-pillar covers are probably a bit faded as well, but still...they're different. In any case, I'm OK with them being a little darker as opposed to being a pale blue that was way too light. I will be painting my "new" AC dash later on, so maybe I'll paint the A-pillar covers at that time and then everything will match up nicely.
  17. Welcome aboard Cameron. Nice trucks you've got there, and you live in a very beautiful part of the world as well. Congrats.
  18. That is very cool! Turns your engine into a compressor, ha! Interesting that the inner ring of the gauge is labelled as "KG"...which would be Kilograms per cubic meter. It's just an interesting scale. Same as pressure in Bar, which would be more common these days in Metric countries (except Canada...lol).
  19. Up until yesterday here, every single case of C19 was with a person that had traveled internationally, or was a person that had come into contact with one of those travelers. Apparently the first case unrelated to travel showed up yesterday, although imho it is related...they just don't know how. The media has not really been reporting how many people were actually IN the hospital, or their ages or nationalities. I wish they would report that info, although I'm sure they are not doing it to prevent discrimination, and I get that. The price of oil is going to be low for a good long time, that is for sure.
  20. Love these Idaho trucks. This old girl appears to be nice and straight looking. Has had a 5spd swap obviously...according to the CL it had a T19 in it. I'd imagine that a 5spd would work fairly well with 4:10 gears? https://www.ebay.com/itm/193398033661
  21. I'd jam a little bit of RTV in the small voids where the flats of the shaft are inside the bearing. Once that stuff hardens up, it would lock that shaft to the inner race of the bearing as tight or tighter than the O-ring ever did. That's all IMHO of course. I don't need one of these bearing housings, but if I did, that is what I'd do.
  22. Man that thing is jacked! Love your backyard there Shaun. Level ground and nicely shaded in.
  23. I find that the media is not accurately reporting on this virus crisis. You have to read a dozen articles and piece together all of the little bits and pieces to get the whole story. The province I live in is probably about the same size as Florida...maybe a little smaller, but we have less than 5% of the population, so we are quite spread out up here. As of yesterday, I believe we had 70 confirmed cases of C19. There are only 2 people in hospital, and the rest are at home. Apparently 2 people have fully recovered and are considered "resolved". As I think Shaun said above, it is going to get worse before it gets better. Currently, I'm more worried about the economy than I am the virus...but ask me again in a couple weeks or a month, and I might have a different answer. Be safe everybody.
  24. I searched for the replacement seals and felts and did not have any luck. I found a really nice condition factory sliding rear window in a 1996 F150 at the local junkyard for $35 bucks. I completely disassembled the whole thing and cleaned all of the felts and seals with a toothbrush and cleaner, and once cleaned and dried they seemed to bounce back to life pretty well. They were not in bad condition anyway, but a little clean-up seemed to do them well. I don't know what the lifespan of these seals are, but everything with this window seemed to be in really nice condition (of course it is 16 years newer than a 1980, so that matters...). As I understand it the 1994-1996/7 sliding rear windows had two minor changes from the previous years. One is that they have an improved latching mechanism that is much tougher than the previous version, and the outer main seal is all black...no chrome insert/trim piece. PS: If you have a junkyard near by, it's worth looking for one of the newer windows. For the couple minutes it takes to remove it, and a little bit of elbow grease to clean up, it was worth the trouble imho. I had fully intended on buying a complete new CRL window prior to finding this one. I had a new Fairchild seal installed briefly with my solid/non-slider rear window prior to installing this slider, and it seemed like it fit OK. It came with the full cab seal kit, so I don't know what part number the individual seal was. My only complaint with it was that it did not fully cover the the lower corners...but in defense of the Fairchild seal, my original 1984 seal wasn't fully covering the lower corners either. The 1996 window/seal I have installed now fully fills in and covers the lower corners fwiw. The rubber on this one has a larger lip/flange on it than the others.
