  1. Some of the stuff LMC carries appears to be NOS, and the prices will reflect that. Problem is, when they're gone, they're gone. They have a bunch of odds and ends from the interior that must be NOS parts just by how they're listed imho. There are a bunch in the catalogs. A lot of plastic pieces likely have to be ordered in huge quantities, so I could see them having inventory of something for a long time, but then possibly not reorder it again due to lower demand.
  2. Outstanding idea!! I'm all in, 100%. I would have loved to attend the show this year Gary, but between the virus issues...and now the economic issues...and border issues, it's not looking like it will happen. Heck, even all of the local car shows here are cancelled for the foreseeable future. A Virtual show should turn into many more entries than would actually be there physically, no?
  3. Pretty sure it doesn't fit my 117" WB truck, so it must be for 133" WB and longer? David, you and I are out buddy! The only crossmember I have that is similar to this one has little bends/curls where the gas tank sits, and this one is flat...so I assume it goes AFT of the fuel tank crossmember on 133" and longer trucks?...
  4. Looks to be in nice condition, and $75 isn't bad. Edit...sorry, I see it's an auction starting at $75...
  5. Well, here's the thing...if we make a publicly-available post with a list of parts that need to be reproduced, other vendors are going to see that list too, and could possibly beat us to the punch. Granted, it's going to be a 3-4 weeks before I'm actually there working in an official capacity, but I'd sure like to not have to beat other vendors in a race to see who can come out with a part first. I'm in a new unique situation where I now need to consider, for example, the possible loss of resources by my future employer if someone else releases a new part first that we're currently working on. So while I don't have an immediate answer, I'm thinking that perhaps just making a post suggesting that folks contact me directly with suggestions of things to look into in the future. I'll have to give this some thought to come up with a way for you all to make suggestions in private. I hope you understand what I'm getting at here. When I first got word I was being considered for this position, I made a post in a couple Facebooks groups asking member's opinions on what should be reproduced, and I happen to know for a fact that at least one other aftermarket parts vendor (the owner of the company) was monitoring the thread for ideas for his own company. Now obviously I have no way of knowing what that vendor decided to do with the suggestions posted, but I'm going to have to assume he's using it to try to be the first source available for some of the parts suggested. This is all great news! I guess the downside of not having a public list is that you won't get the feedback that goes with it. If that feedback is riff-raff on Facebook, then maybe you wouldn't want it anyway...lol. My point is, I guess you'll have to gauge the viability of a proposed reproduction part/idea on your own. I'm sure you have the experience to do that, so it would hardly be a concern. My truck is mostly finished now, so I won't be needing much in the future, but I started scratching down a list of Bullnose items that might be worth investigating that I can forward along
  6. Outstanding! And, congratulations on the new gig. I buy a lot from LMC and I enjoy the catalogs as well. I read each one cover to cover, and have a couple years worth of them saved (in chronological order). Something LMC is really good at is international orders/shipping, and that is one of the reasons I use them so often. Their system is seamless, and easy to use. Some companies are not all that keen on shipping outside of the US, and if they do offer it, it's usually not convenient OR inexpensive. So a tip of the hat to LMC for that. I know of at least one error in the LMC Ford catalog, so I'll have to go back through my orders and see if I can identify the parts again, but there was an issue with the parts listings for the Bullnose rear cab mounts. In any case, congrats!
  7. Well I guess the fact that the truck still only has 40,000 miles on it is why the keys lasted so long. I had never given them a second thought, but did read some comments recently about them.
  8. I bought a nice little Lincoln machine a few years ago. It's uses gas, and it is a small one...but I bought it specifically for doing light sheet metal work. It's a commercial grade machine, but at the bottom end of the scale. It is absolutely lovely to weld with, I must say, but it wasn't cheap either. I've done a lot of stick welding over the years, and I've done quite a bit of work with this one I have now, but I have never touched a flux core wire machine without gas, so I know nothing about them. I had to weld new rocker panels on to a VW New Beetle a few years ago, and they were paper thin...I think 22ga steel, but the welder worked great on them. Anyway, that's sort of off topic... I don't know anything about the welder in question, but for $100 it certainly seems worth the risk.
  9. In the past little while, I've seen a couple comments on Facebook about people still having the original Ford aluminum keys. I had never given them a thought previously, but my keys are aluminum, and a spare set came with the truck are aluminum that I don't think were ever used. They are light as a feather, I'll give them that. I assume they wore out quickly? Is that why they have any significance 35-40 years later?
  10. We got a dusting yesterday as well. It is SO gross in April...lol.
  11. I know nothing about these $100 welders, but the price makes me curious. I have a nice little Lincoln machine, so I don't need a welder, but I'd be curious to hear how well a $100 machine works.
  12. Bidding price hasn't budged on this truck. Sign of the times? The reserve is probably $10k, or more... I know the values vary wildly, but bidding on a truck like this would normally be higher than $2500 bucks by now.
  13. I dumped it for almost 5 years for the same reason, and only in the last year or two re-activated my account so that I had access to FB Marketplace and Vendor pages (where they post their sales and discount codes). Otherwise, I would probably have stayed off it forever. In any case, I too voted no. I think it would be too difficult to police and keep it as nice/calm/cool/collected as Gary's forum.
  14. Dave, it was kind of a tough spot to fix as it is directly under where the hose clamp needs to tighten the hose/duct on. I glued the two broken pieces in place just to hold them where they needed to be, then using some sheet metal I made a sleeve that fit snugly inside the plastic. With the sleeve in place, I then stuck some 1/8" rivets through the plastic to hold it firmly in place. It's not pretty, but you can't see it anyway....and it works...lol. I was planning to stick a hose directly on the filter, but when I found the breather line, I jumped with joy to have that fitting...lol. PS: That is not what I went to the junkyard to find, so I was happy that I did find it.
  15. I think it's all good as is Gary. Frank, understood. I prefer the help I get here on Non-Bullnose stuff over having to hunt for it elsewhere;).
  16. Haha, I suppose so... Well, in that case move it over to my RV thread and I'll keep it all together there;).
  17. Gary, For what it's worth, returning the entire intake system on this thing back to stock will probably do nothing other than lighten my wallet, but the psychological effect will be huge for my mild (sometimes severe) OCD...lol. You can move these new comments back over to the RV thread if you wish Gary. I just figured I'd keep the non-Bullnose stuff out of general population...lol. While not Bullnose related, you guys have been very helpful on the 460/E4OD/Dana topics that I am an extreme rookie with;).
  18. Figured I'd move the Ford specific parts of my RV discussion over to this thread. For the Garagemahal, I'll consider this to be an E350 460 EFI E40D Dana project, and keep the RV portion out of it. In any case, I did finally piece together an almost complete correct* air intake system for the 460 EFI, with some NOS parts from Texas and some ratty old parts removed from a junked cube van in Connecticut. In the end I paid way too much for all of this stuff, but I wanted to get everything back to a baseline with this thing. I also have to remove all of the propane conversion wiring, and I haven't even started that yet...ugh. This is what the old now inop propane conversion looks like under the hood... The new/old stock air intake assembly waiting to be installed: It actually got busted up in shipping, but I was able to repair it and get it cleaned up: Something I was missing was the correct tube/line for the crankcase breather. I went out to the junkyard on Sunday to wander around and I found a crankcase breather line still intact on a 1991 F350 w/460, so I snagged it, and removed the fitting from the airbox end. I'll just buy some 1/2" hose for this, but I needed this end to properly connect the crankcase breather/filter in the airbox. Anyway, we're on the road to recover with this thing. I also picked up new gaskets for the throttle body, EGR, and IAC. Going to try and get a whole bunch of stuff done to this thing in one big swoop once I have all of the parts ready to roll.
  19. I had to use a press to remove and install all 4 of my 2wd ball joints. The old/original joints were pretty tough coming out as it was all rusted together. The new ball joints were the Moog ones with the splines on them. I got the press kit from a local shop through a loan a tool program, so it didn't cost me anything other than the time to pick it up and drop it off. Same as this kit below. https://www.amazon.com/RAM-PRO-Service-Removal-Installer-Adapters/dp/B01MT5HA0X?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_5
  20. I purchased one of his new distributors for my 302 last fall. Works great. I recommend him as well.
  21. Nice lookin' old F250 on Ebay. Seems to be fairly well intact. That blue seems different...is that a factory color or a repaint? https://www.ebay.com/itm/353053511340
  22. I don't know much about the QF carbs either, but the shop that built my 302 said they use them all the time and were very happy with them. The reason the topic came up was I asked them what carb they would have installed on my engine, and they said QF (instead of the basic 4160 that I supplied to them). Edit: Now that I look at all the pictures, it looks like QF carbs must use different bases. See in the picture I posted about from the Holley book that there is one slot machined in the base for the two barbs? They are both on the same manifold vacuum. But when I go back up and look at your pictures, it shows separate slots machined for the two ports. Very interesting. Hope I didn't cause any confusion here Scott. I would have assumed that Holley would use the same bases, but I guess not.
