  1. The picture is kind of dark for me, but I like the look!
  2. Good to know! I was driving my wife nuts on the way back she was in her Suburban. She asked me to go faster. I said no without an overdrive, 65 is enough. I may try 70 next time I have it on the road.
  3. Took my truck on a 800 mile trip. Hauled some things back. Not heavy, but a load. Observations, empty, me and my belongings in the truck. Running 65 MPH mostly, with some pretty good climbs in the mountains, 10.9 MPG. Returning with load (empty part of this portion) mostly flat, a few small climbs, 11.3 MPG. Sadly I was excited about these numbers as I expected worse. I want to do a little tweaking with the timing and maybe go back to the original jets. I think it’s a little lean, may be time to invest in an AFR meter. Edit: a little research and I see an AFR needs an O2 sensor hook up. And a pretty good chunk of change!

  5. Ok, good to know. I didn’t realize, or remember that all 460’s didn’t get MAF.
  6. Nice! Looks like it’s got a MAF Sensor at the air cleaner. Some quick research shows it has the MAF. I thought it was 1994 when these got the MAF. Edit: 1995, I had a 1994, doh!
  7. I got the Echlin from NAPA, it’s adjustable. I put it in the middle of the adjustment and it seems fine.
  8. Is that complex routing necessary? It doesn’t seem like enough but that little bit of line could be for cooling.
  9. After driving it cold I found it was hesitating on acceleration. Not too bad after it warmed up. Went to check the vacuum advance and there wasn’t any! Got a vacuum advance can ordered and it came in today. Much better, advanced the timing a little more and it’s performing well.
  10. Bittersweet, it’s running good but why? Hope it goes well tomorrow.

  12. I’m sorry, two things. An obstruction in the carb. And a leak around the base gasket.
  13. Here’s what I got. https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-stator-asy_d4pz-12a112-a.html
  14. I also would think obstruction. How is the carb base gasket?
  15. The new Stator Assembly from Ford. Put it in, started right up and running great! Checked timing and enjoyed a drive. Did discover in all this that the distributor was off a tooth, much calmer now. I would recommend a Ford part. I’m second guessing myself on the other stators I tried after the first one because I found an alligator test lead was giving me trouble. But I don’t think I took the leads with me. So, the assembly from Ford Parts Giant is great! And I found an Emissions and Diagnostic manual for 1986 on eBay.
  16. I would not. Too much missing and that steering wheel makes me want to hurl! Sorry! But, looks like nice paint.
  17. I don’t like it either. Not even the right era of Bronco. I don’t know if the prices are going up on used vehicles, but the asking sure is!
  18. Amazing it runs and that the welder is working. Very cool! Good job and good luck!
