  1. https://bend.craigslist.org/cto/d/bend-1984-ford-bronco-miles/7319426607.html Not sure about 76,000 miles or the radio install. The guy who owned my 87 4Runner before I got it, took the top off to go hunting. Whenever I pulled a panel I would find a lot of dirt.
  2. The Andy and the Adams don’t have the buttons on the mic, they’re 4 pins and you could use your Astatic mic. I do like the mic channel buttons in my Xterra, because the radio is mounted on the passenger side of the center console, by the passengers knee. The Andy in my truck is mounted on the front of my center console and tilted towards me, easy to get to.
  3. I have a Cobra 29 WX NW ST that I got as a gift from my wife and kids years ago. It got funky on me and since it had sentimental value I sent it to Walcott for repair. It works fine, but it is what it is, which to me is 70’s to 80’s technology, made in China. I have 2 President cb radios, an Andy, and a Bill. The Andy is ok, has a good speaker and is in my truck. The Bill really impressed me, put it in my Xterra, with a 3 foot Firestik. Got it in and the swr set, and made a contact 5 miles away at a truck stop. He said it sounded great. What I really like about the President’s is the automatic squelch control. To get my Cobra to where I’m not getting static, I think is too squelched or not enough RF gain. With the ASC, it’s set and I get good reception and no static. The Bill is a little thing with weather and plenty of features. Been thinking of getting another Bill to replace the Cobra in my Bronco. Only thing is the Bill has a small speaker, so I have it hooked to the aux in my stereo in the Xterra. I like it that way though. But, the President’s are made in China too. Edit, fix typo.

  5. That’s good to know about the short whip!
  6. That cracks me up Shaun! I have a Wilson 1000 mag mount, it’s a 62 inch whip, had it on the roof of my truck for awhile. I thought that hit stuff! Been thinking of putting it on my tool box. Get good swr’s with it.
  7. Nice! I like the antenna. I’ve never tried one of the Astatic mics. Have you considered an antenna hold down? I think this one gutter mounts. (Edit, I read the description, it is a gutter mount!) https://www.wearecb.com/kalibur-k101x-cb-antenna-steel-whip-tie-down.html
  8. I concur, when I first read this I wasn’t sure if the six had a mechanical pump or electric pump. But the TFI will act like that, and as Gary said, work again when cooled down.
  9. I agree on the front edge, just to keep from hitting them, although as Scott mentioned at either place it is unlikely they’ll get damaged.
  10. I like the idea of adding a switch for the cargo light. Although my tool box blocks a lot of the light to the back of the bed. Interested to see how this turns out Gary, not something I see myself doing, but I like how you are putting this together.

I used the same carburetor Jim mentioned. It hooked right up to my linkage, I have an automatic transmission. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/carburetors/street/parts/0-80457S
  12. I used small screws, washers and bolts for easy removal.

  14. Yes it is. I went and looked, $74.95.

    Fixing Eddie

I agree with Gary, one other thing is go up a number or 2 on the jets. I did with mine and it helped with a hesitation I had when the engine wasn’t warmed up. It’s my understanding that the secondaries opening too soon will cause a bog or hesitation.
