I think it will help hold it together.
I would use the mix, and work it in with a tongue depressor or screwdriver blade. I’d have a shallow layer to help bond everything.
If you don’t use to much you may just need a little sanding or none at all.
IIRC, it’s pretty tough to sand.

I use Monroe Gas Magnums. I like them.
Gsmblue, I don’t think any shocks will help your Bronco from bouncing around, that’s what mine does.
As I’ve said, the Bronco is aptly named!
I think there are a lot of opinions on this, some supposedly have video proof.
My opinion is to do what the manufacturer suggests. Might be harder to find that info now though.
In the years I worked on aircraft that’s always how I (we) did it.
Good eye Shaun! Interestingly the 94 F250 I used to own had the non air bag steering wheel. Must have been built earlier.
The F250 and F350 didn't gain an airbag until the F250 LD did in 1997 (new body) and the HD and F350 trucks picked them up right after that. The 3/4 and 1 ton trucks temporarily evaded the regulation that required the half ton trucks to have airbags in the early 90s.
Oh, interesting. I miss that 94 sometimes.
