  1. Imagine the front wheels on the shopping cart... I understand a lot of geometry from building race bikes. The fork yokes have offset and then you have the fork angle, forward. Project a line through the steering headstock. And determine how far behind that point the contact patch of the front wheel is...
  2. Ironically, Wes was working on a Ford parking brake yesterday. The 'Giving Truck' had one of those. I wonder what's become of that and the Zf-5 S47 that I bolted to a pallet and stretch wrapped for Don, now that he's passed.
  3. Condolences to you and your wife! 😞 Happy to hear about your future together! I recall that Shaun (Salans7) lives in the central part of the state, near Orlando. I know that he used to work at The Villages running the hospital stock rooms. Certainly have a look at the map and update your location, if you're included. Congratulations on your forever home.
  4. I'm not familiar with adjustments to these lighter duty pickups. Where is your toe?
  5. I don't have radius arms.... So, the hole is off center and you install with the hole at the top to increase the spindle upright angle? And you still have issues with the steering returning to center??? Is your box set too tight?
  6. You need to remember that all the power to the cab and the ignition everything with those fusible links that attach to the battery hot side of the starter fender relay.... Don't skimp out on an 18-in cable. You can get one intended for a tractor, or something like that..
  7. I said above...... 40A to pull and 13A to hold. Gary has the data sheet from my starter posted in the PMGR upgrade section.
  8. Acetylene always works. Even in the back of beyond, where you have no power 💡 "It can't be frozen, if it's molten". 😉
  9. I know Ray Cecil made an all wood flatbed for a pickup that ended up on a farm in Kentucky. There were CAD drawings. If you're considering a steel bed frame with wooden deck, you should probably look at the body builders handbook here on the site. It has all the critical dimensions of bolt holes, the heights of bends in the frame, axle location and travel, etc...
  10. You can use any stud as a junction. I don't understand what you mean by "smaller wire". What gauge are you talking about?
  11. In my case, I'm using a little 40A cube -Bosch style- relay in the tiny power distribution center that you see (aft of the battery) I have high, low, fog light, horn and lighting relays. A starter relay, that replaces the big Ford fender mounted relay. My PMGR is 40A to pull and 13A to hold. Edit: you can kinda see the HMEG fuse holder from the 3G screwed to the side of the box beneath my fingers.
  12. I run my starter cable directly from the+ battery terminal..... Edit: photo for clarity.
  13. The Marti report relies on factory documentation. If the dealer (or some PO) resprayed the accent colour to Argent, it's not "factory"...
  14. Use an LED and heat isn't an issue. Vibration is, though. If you go the steel filled epoxy route you might consider building up either side, like a fillet or gusset.
  15. Yeah. Him and Vehicor... They're both obviously talented in their fields, but ... They reach too hard and too far, and come off like ***holes that I couldn't stand to be around for five minutes. I like Watch Wes Work. He can be incredibly snarky, without insulting your intelligence I would pay to hang out and have a beer with him (and the Hufflepuff, and Max)
  16. Why mess with success? ETA: 96 dually..... Which is NOT from a 150. Like I said above, 250/350 trucks kept the body style through 97. There were NO 98 250/350's, and then came the Superduty for 99. The new trucks are higher, because of side impact regulations. Look at how thick the pillars are and how tall the doors are... There's no way you could ever reach over the side of even an F-150, today...
  17. I'm not saying you're wrong.... It isn't his specialty, I don't think he knows.
  18. He said Aeronose or OBS. If it came from a 150, then it wasn't it was the newer body style.... They had 302s 351s 300s and 460s up into 97
  19. '97 for 250-350's (no '98's, then the Superduty for '99) The 150's got the body refresh in '96. Not a fan of that tailgate. I do watch this guy's teardowns sometimes, but his level of snark generally has me cutting it short.
  20. There are lots of pictures of Bricknose beds mounted behind Bullnose cabs. The body lines match . I know I've posted a few. A year and a half ago (October) there was a really clean white one from the Folsom Home Depot parking lot on McDade Blvd. when I was down fixing my sister's house in Swathmore, PA. before she moved to SC.
  21. I carry the little ones with the offset jaws that fit nuts in the right side pocket of my dickies carpenter jeans, along with a utility knife...
  22. Early bull knows have hinges, instead of calling. The bricknose trucks have a pin, a post like a door striker... The latches can be made to work.
  23. I like my Kinpex better, but I haven't seen a pair this big. Plenty of leverage, no chance of spark....💡
