  1. Is the square on the LMC bolts way too small? Do your bolts have chrome caps?
  2. Impressive! I'm sure your wife loves you very much! Any particular kind of heavy equipment, or one brand? Do you work for a big company or just your own shop? (No need to answer, if this seems too personal)
  3. What is the problem that made you want a switch? The gauge is switched by the valve (diagram above) If you can't switch tanks, it's the valve. If the gauge doesn't read on one side it's the wiring after the valve
  4. Glad you DID find the forum, Paul! Welcome! Do you drive a triaxle, or a bigger truck?
  5. Why would someone go to get parts If everything is functioning correctly? 'm kinda surprised with all the salt and mag chloride on the roads up here. But, as they say, don't mess with success.
  6. Yes, Welcome! I'm no expert on IDI conversions, but I will tag our Admin Jonathan to your thread if you start one. He can probably help.
  7. I can definitely understand being fed up but I have to disagree that the wiring sucked when new I bought my truck with less than 10k on it in '88 (because the guy wanted EFI) and I'm still on my original valves and wiring. I don't think inv ever had to touch it. (But I do have a mechanical pump, so only senders through my 6-port switch valve.
  8. I remember when the original Samsung Note was considered a Phablet! I like mine at 6" or just above.
  9. 8.75"!!!! Wow, what kind of phone do you have? I don't have much choice how I consume and interact with this forum. I do my best, and just accept that I'm not going to be bothered to do things like rotate photos or ever wait for one of Gary's charts to load.
  10. It's also 21/2* hours away. Driving Highway on the front wheels is much easier than turning, as we discussed in the 'jerkyness with hubs locked' thread about driveline angles... CV's (like THAT French brand) would be a godsend.
  11. I can find them, but no one will let me open it up and look inside, before paying and dragging it home. 30 day exchange policy I'm not going to screw around, driving over an hour each way and dropping $800, nor going to the effort of changing out an almost 40 year old often neglected and abused part. I just don't know enough people any more. Was a time I could have one of those complete, from the spring perches (tires, and all) for free... tomorrow.
  12. Like a fragmentation grenade. There are plenty of pics, I even started a thread. But since I'm broke I have to keep going until I can afford parts.
  13. Well, I never need 1st and if I short shift I could be in 4th before 30mph. But my worn Zf-5 doesn't like to be lugged and I'm almost always at 2k. 4th is 1:1 just like a T-19. Highway speed around here is 80-85 without traffic. I'm literally pushing a Brick into the wind. In town could be better... perhaps. Fuel isn't worth wasting time and I am a decisive driver. Having front wheel only makes me consider turning, because the front axles bins and jerk around.
  14. I'm more a Tapitio kinda guy, but Frank's has its place on wings and things.
  15. I put a layer F150 shaft with U-joints at both ends. It has a cruciform shaft w/ polymer bushings (I suspect acetal) It doesn't make any weird noise.
  16. The bulbs go into quarter turn holders that make contact with the flex board behind the instruments.
  17. You can use the speedo gear calculator, here on the site. If you have a GPS speed, or distance from your phone. 💡
  18. I can get 12 hwy with 4.10's and a Zf-5. Always 10 in town. My 4wd truck's tare weight is 6270 and it has a lumber rack. Hard to imagine that a 2wd w/ 3.06 can't do better. I suppose that says a lot about the C6's ability to turn torque into heat?
  19. Rear tanks are all 19 gallon, except Bronco's.
  20. I hope that works out for you! Otherwise, you're not limited to only 83-86 IDI, you can use a 460 switch (they are identical). 😉
  21. I haven't had a problem with any replacement Pollak valve, diesel or gas. (though they were the ones that made the original valves for the Big Three) I haven't used one recently and don't recall when SMP bought them out. Maybe the newer ones are not as good (China) 🤔
  22. I definitely am. But evidently that's all in response to Chris having mentioned his fuel tanks sending units plural directly underneath your original post. I apologize for the tangent, and should have known to more closely read the subject and not just correct the responses.
  23. Thank you for sharing your experience, and set up!
