  1. Not To but With. In prep for lambing season, needed to move some feeders/troughs around so put Chanute to use.
  2. Oh, I think you're onto it. These have the woodgrain panels (manual windows). Pretty sure they have the bright moulding but didn't really notice. Will try and remember to check tomorrow just so we have the data.
  3. I am near the 82 F250 this evening so checked and it's the same as Shaun's. Build date: 4/82 Inserts, no studs.
  4. If going the tape route, looks like you could apply it to either the cab or the vent itself. If on the vent side you'd want to stick some tape to itself (except for the ends where it attaches) so it doesn't attract dust or stick the the sliding door. Black duct tape would be a quick solution.
  5. Good deal! My 80 is the same way. What about adding some black (or blue) tape to the cab horizontally? A single strip ought to hide that or at least make it a lot less noticeable.
  6. Sure it is - if you twist hard enough. No, just my poor artistic ability
  7. Agreed - looks very nice. No doubt going to get a lot of looks when out and about
  8. Just for comparison, here is the drivers side- I just ran out and checked the 80 since it has these vents and the dash bracket is a close fit into the slanted notch seen above in the top left.
  9. Those do look really good. I didn't realize the pad above the armrest was still around in 82. For some reason I was thinking it was only an 80 year thing.
  10. Is it possible you are trying the drivers vent (flipped upside down) on the passenger side? They both have notches for that bolt/bracket though the passenger side is more pronounced -
  11. Nice purchase Danny! Looking forward to hearing your experience with it. Cory - haha that's a new one for me. Bee's knees and cat's meow, sure. I would question the origin but I guess 'knees' and 'meows' don't make much more sense...
  12. They all look good but man, those kick panels look better than new. You're saying that door panel is the same blue?! 🤨
  13. The gentleman had listed the booklets for free on Craigslist about 30min away so coincidentally it seemed like a great night for a dinner out The nos pieces he showed up with and asked if I had a 20... (So didn't technically find them I guess) In addition to his 86, he also had some photos of a 91 f150 and a 70's fairlane. Both beautiful.
  14. Looking great and a shame the radiator has to be hidden under the shroud Didn't do anything on the truck but found a couple NOS parts for sale locally so went and picked them up. Extremely nice former Bullnose owner who showed me a photo of a beautiful tan/blue 6.9 F250 with a GVOD. Ended up with a headlight bezel, door lock bezel, and some near, if not new, booklets.
  15. Don’t think so Scott. The 1995 F150 I just disassembled for the chassis was a rear tank only truck, and it has a crossmember that my 1984 (side tank only) does not have. Both are swb trucks, but my ‘84 does not have the crossmember for a rear tank. It has a bolted in crossmember for the spare tire to hit but it is completely different. Thanks guys. So Dutch, there will be some sourcing of parts needed but the plus side is that you won't have to take the truck out of commission for the majority of the project.
  16. That will add a little complexity to it You'll need the two top straps (look like the side tank straps) and the two bottom ones. Those are wider and thicker. Skid plates will also work. Routing the filler/vent hose, extending the wiring, and fuel line can all be done but will just take time. To all - do the single tank trucks have the needed crossmember? All my pickups are dual tanks but I know on my c&c trucks they didn't have the second from the rear crossmember if they were single tank.
  17. This thread has some good data in it : http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/C6-plumbing-td57026.html I recall Angelo was interested in the transmission end though so focus is likely there. Do you have the adapters that Ford used?
  18. Oh wait. So you don't currently have a rear tank at all?
  19. Cory - I need to find that thread from a year or so ago where you mentioned this process and was the first time I'd heard of it. I didn't really do a ton of price comparisons but the Woolwax site seemed pretty competitive and their bundles (with gun) were nice. Also, really nice to know that this stuff never spoils so no worries on stocking up or having extra. Oh man Gary, that had to be a trick backing in there. With the length of a trailer, that inch could be taken up in no time. I was actually thinking last night that it would be nice to have a lift to work on the trailer, not to mention the vehicles. Would it work though? Or does your "no way to get it up in the air" mean you tried and it's a no go? Length I assume would be ok but you've got width as well as the single contact point (the jack) in the front to find a solution for. Maybe a 4 post instead of 2? Regarding the speedometer setup, to quote the gentleman at Deluxe Speedometers, it is an 'engineering nightmare'. While I agree that it is by no means a clean looking solution I don't know of a better alternative that is fairly universal (among Fords) and doesn't require much work on the overdrive owner's part. This is the adapter. The left side is a slip on fit with an oring that the original [red] speedometer gear slips into. The right side (disconnected in this photo) is threaded. [Here is a quick sketch I did while identifying what the replacement needed to look like] The speed sensor screws into the adapter and the little piece protruding from the end accepts the inner speedometer cable from the factory cable. They meet in the middle of the adapter.
  20. Glad to have you! That is a great looking truck
  21. Are you looking at the F26D? It's been awhile since I've researched it but it comes (or used to) with the hardware needed to drop the straps (or plates) lower and extend the pickup. Here is a link I bookmarked awhile back. In addition to the spare, will you need to reroute your exhaust?
  22. Recent one David found: E1 but an insert - assumes package is correct. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1980-1986-FORD-F100-F150-F250-F350-BRONCO-LH-DOOR-HANDLE-OPENING-TRIM-BOOT/392964586758?hash=item5b7e83bd06:g:MPwAAOSwIrNfdYDo
  23. The panels I have handy aren't from middle years so not that helpful... 80 - studs 85(x2) - insert (no studs present) 86(x3) - insert (no studs present)
  24. If I recall correctly, you had a pretty nice NOS score on the earlier style not long ago. Shame they are different. I can picture 5 later years blue trucks between the jy and mine so will look at them the next time I am around them to see if any survived.
