  1. Somewhere there is a drivers side listing for the car version that has 4 or 6 of the switches - can't recall - but I thought it would be a neat (and factory looking) addition if one has a use for the other switches.
  2. Possibly Dorman AutoGrade 1.625-16 Inch Thread Spindle Nut? Part # 615-128 Line: DOR at O'Reillys.
  3. Really? That's awesome. I've got a few sets but they are all the black plastic. Never knew there was aluminum versions. Edit: zooming in on this one does look like the easily broken plastics tabs are shiny!
  4. Yeah, without the metal ring it would sit a little too proud of the fender. Fender flex would be another concern. Looks like the flat where the hinge would bolt is 0.03in. As hopefully the picture shows clear enough, there are some reinforcement edge bends in some places.
  5. Here is one from a styleside (looks like they are different in the mold at least) The metal ring is on the inside held on by two rivets (and then the bolts holding the door).
  6. There is a thread about this over on the other forum going on right now. Correct for diesels - they had the hood one and the under dash/floorboard ones. Even the gas hoods have holes in them throughout so I'd always assumed they used the same hood template but from some people over on the other thread it sounds like they didn't and they have to be drilled.
  7. Definitely unrelated. I would just say you got lucky and ended up with the Holy Grail of all magic objects: the replenishing fridge. Ok, so maybe the Holy Grail is your wife....
  8. I know, I know - I am entirely ruining the point so blame it on a childhood of hearing my mom yell: "You brought it in, you take it out" but I can't help but think of this video that cracks me up: "I've got the same coffee table at home"
  9. Ah, that's a great idea. I didn't find that one when searching the forums somehow.
  10. As anyone who has taken their fenders off knows, the longevity and re-usability of the pressed cardboard-type factory shim is limited. When searching for what to use for mine I found a couple different ideas. I won't list them here as I am hoping others that have personally used them (and who knows what else) will chime in with photos and experience. While at a home improvement store this evening I grabbed a few of the vinyl plank samples (slightly disappointed that there wasn't a Rosewood offering...) so I could compare them to the factory shim when I got home. In comparing them they are a little thicker so they may not work but I also don't know how compressed the factory one has gotten over time. So I went ahead and stacked a couple to run through the jigsaw. If the thickness doesn't cause a problem I think they will work well. Again, if you have found something that works for the shim, please chime in as it never hurts to have options and if these are too thick I will be looking for alternatives
  11. Mine? I don't believe I have one. I mean I did have a myspace page with some pretty cool css on it but...
  12. Gotcha. I have been taking my large stuff to Crumps and have been very happy. Just as much with the staff as with the coating.
  13. Very nice looking truck! I like the blue striping throughout although not a fan of the extra stuff (that thing between the O-R on the hood and such). Is says the paint is original - is this blue striping (and the extra stuff) original for a 78?
  14. Why? I did this in jeans, long-sleeve shirt, & hood, and it wasn't too bad, I was considering a blasting hood to be a suit since that's really the only part that matters in an hobby setting (a respirator being a given anytime working outside a cabinet). With that, yes it wouldn't be bad.
  15. Haha if it means not picking coal slag out of my ears because I forgot to put my plugs in, I might be able to live with slow.
  16. Anyone tried one of these? https://www.eastwood.com/liquid-media-blaster.html?SRCCODE=PLA00020&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIltOQ69Hq4wIV0v_jBx3bPgM9EAQYASABEgKDyPD_BwE I use my blasting cabinet a ton but every now and then I find myself needing to prep an item that won't fit. Without having a suit, blasting outside is the worst so this seems good in theory.
  17. Interesting. There is at least one of these (the later model one) in the local jy but I'd just assumed it was a jerry rigged setup. I really like that first clip on one. Yes - I'd hang on to that sensor as among other things, the GVOD uses it. Edit: just zoomed in and looks like your sensor ends aren't threaded like mine for my GVOD so not sure about the interchangeability.
  18. Yeah, it does. Around here that would be gone within the hour in that condition at that price.
  19. It is. Which is really what threw me off. There are a couple listings and they are both flat and with the box that has E3TZ 99431B54-B. Dennis Carpenter under that number shows the round style according to the photo. I've seen two boxes on ebay that below the number have 'w/o' line on them: W/O 183170 012698 W/O 199890 110996 Not sure what those mean though. Shaun - yours is round, correct?
  20. Do you use Crump or Springfield? Another powder coating guy I know was talking about doing a kids fenders and the other body panels down the road. He said they looked really slick. I didn't go into any details on it with him so maybe I am missing something but personally I would leave the body panels in paint. What would you do if you get a chip or scratch in the coating? Getting all the seam sealer out of the cab nooks and crannies and the coating inside the door panels may be a trick not to mention having to make sure you reapply it everywhere after. If you do go with it, I'd love to hear how it goes and drive by to check it out.
  21. Little late to the discussion but anything metal that will fit in my oven off Camano I've coated. And anything too big I've had a local shop do. I had the same question and I was told jb weld would work but it all depends on thickness. As Gary said, if it can't conduct it won't stick although gravity will help out if lucky. So you may have to increase the current on the gun to pull through the jb weld. Same goes with multiple primer coats. Since you're talking about a bumper I assume you are having a dedicated shop do it? If so they will likely have some tricks where you don't have to do a thing but point it out to them. Let us know what comes of it.
  22. My fault, I didn't explain it well. On the box for that listing it is E3TZ 99431B54-B. Maybe just a situation where they had a ton of the round and didn't get to use the flat for awhile....
  23. Referring to this - taken from the ebay listing for E3TZ.
