  1. If the idle speed doesn't change when you spray carb cleaner on the throttle shaft then you don't have enough leak there to be an issue. I think all carbs leak there to some extent. On setting the float level, have you looked at our documentation at Documentation/Fuel Systems/Carbs, Chokes, & EFI/Motorcraft 2150? We have the section from the FSM there.
  2. Jim - The link takes me to a page that says "We've looked everywhere" but not to those lights. However, using the Safego from your pics and the 10w spec I found these from Amazon. Or these from ebay. Should be them, right? I like the idea of a flood light, but the "incredibly bright" worries me. They don't hurt your eyes? One of those on each of the uprights of the "rack", pointed somewhat fore and aft, would light up beside the truck nicely, and the backup lights would get to the rear. The cargo light is LED and lights the bed some, but with the tent installed wouldn't do much but hit the tent. So the LED strips you used under the hood would be nice under the gunwales. And all of that could be run off the cargo/dome light switch. Seem like a decent plan?
  3. The lower piece on the 460 is part of the engine plate. So maybe the one on the diesel is separate? And 6397 is a locating pin. It goes into a hole in the engine and locates the transmission. And I think there are two of them, one on each side. However, I believe they are the same for all transmissions.
  4. Ty - Glad it is working for you. But you may not have enough vacuum advance dialed in. You should see what your vac advance is giving at various vacuum levels.
  5. Chad - The MPC says that P-20770 is the right illustration for several transmissions, inc the ZF5 as it was the one used in the 1988 and later F350s, as shown below. And here's P-20770, which says "under 8500# GVW", which isn't correct for an F350. So I'm thinking it is right, and will add it to the ZF5 page.
  6. The kwik sleeves I used on Big Blue’s front hubs were closed like that to allow pressing them in easily. And they were perforated so the closed part could be broke off. But what exploded views are you looking for?
  7. A kwik sleeve is a repair for the a shaft. Used for when there's too much wear on the shaft from the seal. Many are open but that one is closed, so you probably have to break off the closed part once you get it in position. Does your input shaft have a lot of wear or roughness where the seal hits? If not, then you shouldn't need that.
  8. I agree a parking brake isn’t the best thing to hold with on the trail, but I like the idea as another layer of security. Big Blue’s parking brake is binary - on or off. And when on and in 4wd the front wheels are included. Plus with the locker on you have both front wheels locked. But I agree that it isn’t necessary, so isn’t a “need”. With your gearing it won’t move. And I think your idea on the carb is good. Just keep the cleaner away from the little umbrella check valve for the accelerator pump. Don’t ask.
  9. Well, I agree the pedal isn't pretty. But if it works you can move on to the cables - and won't you need them at Moab? As for the carb, that's strange. It does make sense that you had to have the screws out earlier due to the leak, and needed to turn them in now that the leak has been fixed. But that doesn't explain at all the lean condition at cruise nor stalling at other times. Good luck!
  10. Yes, please find the link to your lamps, although there's no hurry. But I searched for it and didn't find it. And you are right, it is gunwales and is pronounced gunnels. My bad. As for camping and packing out, no prob. No offense taken.
  11. You did teach them well, obviously. I call it the privilege of having had good parents . Thanks, Cory. They have turned out pretty well, even if I say so myself.
  12. That's EXPENSIVE! But you don't have any other choice to have such a cool vehicle in Norway. Apparently your wife likes driving it?
  13. Looks really GOOD, John! Those kinds of things make it much more pleasant to drive.
  14. You were wrong when you thought you were wrong? Seriously though, glad it worked out.
  15. Jim - I would like to know what the lights are. I could put them on the racks and tie them into the cargo light, although I might put a switch on the dome light to kill it. And, now that I'm pulling the drop-in bed liner I'm thinking about placing some the LED strips you used under the gunnels, if you will. As for camping vs glamping, I'm doing what my kids want to do, call it what you will. But none of my kids would think of trashing a place. Not that I taught them well, but they are concerned about the environment, so we'll be packing out whatever we take in.
  16. Great! Both kids have/are buying new-to-them houses. Our son is doing a massive refurbish on their house, and our daughter is just working through the inspection to see what has to be done. So right now they have other things on their minds. But the seed will grow. And the grandkids won’t let them forget.
  17. I actually like the DeeZee better. It spans more of the cab with more compartments and is open. Mine now has a 3KW inverter, 12v outlets, USB charger ports, jump-start battery, hand-held radios, flash lights, and camp lights. Plus a fire extinguisher and soon-to-be first aid kit. Also lots of room left.
  18. jaxonj - Thanks for that. I'm sure it will be helpful. But you may have missed the email to you that asked you to go to the New Members Start Here folder, read the guidelines, and then start a new thread/topic to introduce yourself. Not only do we like to get to know people, but it is important that you read the guidelines as we hold everyone to them.
  19. Had conversations with our daughter & family and son & family regarding going to Yellowstone the summer of 2022. And during those discussions I said Big Blue would be there so we could do some offroading in the area. And I told them about the probability of having a roof-top tent on it. The grandtwins are enthusiastic about wanting to go camping with Pop Pop. And my SiL seems to be interested in taking off with me somewhere. My son was trying to figure out how we get from Yellowstone to Moab, but then realized that it is quite far, so is thinking that it needs to be a separate trip. However, he then started explaining what gear we will need, what gear he has, etc. And suggested that I need to add "area lights" so we'll have light around the truck at night for camping. So the seed has been planted.
  20. Thanks. My 9 year old granddaughter has bookmarked the forum on her tablet, so will be checking on what Pop Pop is doing. And, she quickly, and loudly, said she wants to go camping with me when she saw the picture of the tent.
  21. Yep. The 3N1's were sold by HF, Grizzly, Busy Bee, and at least two other outfits. And they were different colors, had different collet sizes, and different badges, but all four of the owner's manuals I pulled down had exactly the same error. And it was just a glaring error that the guy at Grizzly said "You can't even make that thing!" I laughed cause I'd said the same thing to Janey.
  22. Dave - Yours looks just like mine, which is a DeeZee. It is shown in their brochure here: Documentation/Literature/Misc Literature/DeeZee/DEEZEE CAB ORGANIZER BROCHURE.
