  1. That's what I was thinking, but then was trying to figure out how it is wired, and apparently they just take the power to the relay's coil from before the flasher. Makes sense.
  2. Sounds like a gear not truly engaged. Jut touching. And I agree, I doubt that you damaged anything. Before going to all the trouble of draining and pulling the cover, what about shifting it through the gears? And maybe even driving it, slowly in the other gears?
  3. Do they flash with the turn signals or just come on and stay on as long as the turn signal switch is depressed?
  4. Cheap, but would need a lot of work. Nice wheels and a tach though.
  5. Phil - You are now on the map. And you can see the discussion about bed covers in the thread called Thoughts On Tonneau/Bed Covers. I wound up ordering the Pace Edwards Bed Locker With Explorer Rails.
  6. No! Just thinking of how useful that would be. I think Big Blue looks better.
  7. Notice how the press-apply side trim was carried back onto the utility bed? Boy, you talk about good storage for overlanding!
  8. That is a "BRACE (INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER FLANGE REINFORCEMENT)" according to the MPC, and it is for all 1980 - 87 F-Series and Broncos.
  9. I expect you to get a lot of business on those. To me the price is right and it is well worth it to be able to repair those bezels.
  10. Welcome, Phil! Glad you joined. That looks like a really good project on which to teach a lot of skills. On the idea of a "camping rig", that's kind of what Big Blue is evolving into. I'm getting ready to add a bed cover that has tracks that will hold racks and a tent, allowing us to camp pretty much wherever we stop. What part of East Tenn are you in? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we could add you with a city or zip.
  11. Wyatt - You, or maybe the truck, is now on the map. As for Granny's, haven't tried the pancakes. Janey and I split a chicken fried stake and declared it as good as about any we've had. But you didn't mention Blue Spruce. Have you not had their gelato? It is really good. May try The Garage for burgers some day, but don't get over there that often from Skiatook, so tend to go for the chicken fry. As for my background, I retired from Computer Sciences Corp, which was the #2 IT outsourcing company in the world at the time. My degrees are in math and physics, but that was before computer science degrees were available. On the idea of a King Ranch Bullnose, one thought has to do with "stitching" I remember seeing pretty prominent stitching on the 2015 KR I looked at, so you might have the seats covered and add some. But there is actually stitching on the door panels that is usually covered up in the high end truck with a piece of chrome. So you could use new door panels w/o the holes in the stitching for attaching the chrome, leaving the stitching exposed. And, perhaps even highlight it somehow?
  12. Me too, Jim. I refuse to use their catalog. If I search for something via Google that takes me to their correct page then I might buy from them. But it sure won't be because I found it in their catalog.
  13. I don't think I did anything with the radio in Rusty, but if I did I sure don't remember it. Sorry. And Jim is right, there seems to be no universal connection scheme. I took a Sony out of Big Blue and put another in and even they had different connections.
  14. Wow! Well done! I'm sure that took a lot of work, but they look amazing! I'll have to do that on the ones for Dad's truck.
  15. Yes, welcome! Glad you joined! However, I'm not sure about the "supportive community". A Texan going to school in Okiehoma? Seriously though, you are welcome here. I have nothing against the Cowboys except that they changed the name of the stadium several years ago. Yep, it was previously known as Lewis Stadium after a distant relative. But a nephew graduated from there in engineering and seems to have learned a lot, so it must be a good school. My wife and I love the chicken fried steak at Granny's Kitchen, although it was closed for remodeling a few weeks ago, so we went across the street to Louie's. And from there we usually go to Blue Spruce for desert. Anyway, would you like to be on our map? Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu. We could put you on in Stillwater or wherever home is in Texas.
  16. I'm sorry, but you implied a 7.5L, aka 460, in the same paragraph as "efficiency". I think if you look in your Funk & Wagnalls you'll find that is a faux pas. Seriously though, my 460 was fine with a 600 CFM Edelbrock but had more high-RPM go with a 750 Eddy. So anything between those two limits would work. And I like Edelbrocks better than Holleys, but that's a personal preference.
  17. Thanks, guys. As for needing a hydraulic crimper for #10 & 12 wires, I can't say that I really do. The need is for a crimper that does a good job on 2/0 wire, which this crimper is said to do, but it just so happens to also do down to #12. So I'll give it a try.
  18. It does sound like a plan is coming together! The latest info on EF and their blocks as well as willingness to work with you seems like an extremely good fit. And having had problems pouring the shop floor when we got a hot load on a hot day with too few helpers makes me realize how important having the right help can be.
  19. It varies. From our page at Documentation/Driveline/Transfer Cases and the Applications tab:
  20. Absolutely. My wife and I've been to both rims of the Canyon, hiked it as well as ridden the mules down, and have even seen an inversion in it. And we've been on Powell several times. Plus we driven all over the area. And, we've floated the Green River. Last, I've read every one of Zane Grey's books, many of which are about that area. Love the area!
  21. As an update on this subject, I just ordered the TEMCo Hydraulic Cable Lug Crimper TH0006 V2.0 5 US TON. But instead of ordering it from Amazon, where the cost is $114.95 and is supposed to be "In stock on April 21, 2021", I ordered it from TEMCo where the cost was $103.46. And while their website says it is supposed be in stock today, Drew said it will be "a couple more days", and that if I'd order online I'd go to the head of the line for it. Further, we discussed the "wings" that I've been getting as well as the idea of getting a specification for the size of a properly-crimped terminal. On the wings, he said just to fold them back in, as I've been doing, because they aren't harmful. But he said I'm not going to find a spec on a properly-crimped terminal because that depends on the die, the terminal, and the # of strands in the wire used. So since the terminal manufacturer doesn't know what die nor wire is going to be used they can't provide a spec. Having said that, he's confident that with their AWG die and the fact that you get intermediate die, meaning the equivalent of a #11 between 12 and 10, we can find the right combo of die, terminal, and wire that gives a clean crimp. So I ordered it and will let you know.
  22. It is still "them"... look closely at the "C" pillar on the driver's side. You are right, David. Well spotted!
