  1. You either have a bad regulator or have wired it incorrectly. Do you have it grounded? You have to get the output voltage down to about 5.4 or your gauges will read very high - which is what you are seeing.
  2. Sorry, I missed this. Yes, I'm sure it is hard to get parts in Germany. But those seats are out of a Supercab or Bronco, so if you what some like them you'll have to locate someone with those seats that will ship them. And that's going to be expensive! On the shocks, I think you got good answers from the others.
  3. Do you happen to have a tilt steering wheel? A part in them is known to break and cause similar problems. Go to Documentation/Interior/Steering Columns for a discussion thereof.
  4. Gary, didn't find your conversation in BB Transformation, rather "Hydroboost Planning" thread. Looks like you did what I am considering in modifying a new hose. Was that outfit that you used in Tulsa Ameriflex? I took one of my hoses by to a local guy yesterday that does hydraulic lines, but unfortunately he does not do the smaller stuff, as the lines on our automobiles. He recommended Kim's International. Thanks for the input gentlemen. Sorry, I forgot about that thread. Yes, I think it was Ameriflex.
  5. I had one made in Tulsa, or rather had a different end out on a new hose. But that was for a hydro boost system. You can find what I learned in Big Blues Transformation thread. As explained there, there are at least two different fittings for the Saginaw.
  6. Actually, I think it was Denny’s Drive Shafts. Don’t know for sure though as I haven’t found mention of that order. Still looking...
  7. 10” is WIDE! Anyway, good luck. It is coming together. 👍
  8. I can’t look right now, but somewhere in Big Blue’s Transformation thread I posted where I got my double-cardan front yoke for my 1345. Go search that thread. I’ll check later to see if you’ve found it.
  9. I think you are backwards on the voltage to the pump. The info on that system is at Documentation/Fuel Systems/460 Fuel Systems. But you should get full battery voltage in Start, and reduced voltage in Run. Here's one of the pages showing that. But the wire you are talking about shouldn't be hot all the time. It is the Pk/Bk wire.
  10. Testing is explained at Documentation/Electrical/Gauges. The ICVR is explained at Documentation/Electrical/ICVR. But note that in the latter there's a link to FTE where I posted my testing of the right voltage across several gauges. However, if you fill your tank fully you could adjust your ICVR to read Full on your gas gauge and assume the temp and oil pressure gauges are happy as well. There are no numbers on them, so it isn't critical.
  11. I hadn’t thought of the gas. But that could do it. Hope you’ve found it!
  12. Looking good! The tires will not only improve the looks but also the handling.
  13. Cory is the guru on this if I remember correctly. But only 85 & 86 had burled wood bezels, and 85 faded badly. However 86 doesn’t seem to have, so that is probably an 86.
  14. Berthoud! Drove through there on the way to Estes Park last fall. We were there the week before they had to evacuate due to the Cameron Peak fire. Anyway, you are on the map!
  15. David - You sure are good at helping us spend our money.
  16. Jeff - Glad you joined. What part of CO? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member’s Map in the menu and could add you if we knew a city or zip. Nice truck! And that’s a great story, been in the family since new. Not many can say that.
  17. I don't qualify as an expert, but David/1986F150six posted this recently: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Air-Fuel-Ratio-gauge-and-now-have-question-tp91060p92971.html.
  18. Yes, there are worse. But that's pretty bad! However, for $400 you can't go wrong.
  19. Those are the Captain's Chairs that came in the Broncos and Supercabs. But there may be some Supercab trucks that don't have the holes drilled for those, so you might want to read this thread: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/What-seat-base-is-this-td85469.html
  20. I agree. Midwest probably uses their kits in their own rebuilds. They have a 12 month warranty on their transmissions.
  21. You can make an '81 run nicely w/o all the emissions stuff, but it takes a bit of work. Most of what you have should be EGR, and that's controlled by a bunch of those vacuum doohickeys. So to keep it you'll need to at least replace the vacuum lines if they are broken or breaking. If you want to delete the EGR you should consider having the distributor recurved as it has a curve in it expecting there to be exhaust gas in the mix at part throttle.
  22. To put them on here tick the box that says "Message is in HTML Format". And on Youtube click Share then get the embed code and paste it here, like I've done below. However, Youtube insists on making the thing 560 pixels high and 315 pixels wide. So I change that to twice that - 1120 and 630. And with it in HTML mode hitting Enter doesn't get you a line feed. You need to click Formatting and then Line Feed for that. Oh, Youtubes work much better if you turn the phone landscape.
  23. True, but if it is getting some the choke might help it run. I dunno.
  24. What about a fuel supply restriction ahead of the carb?
