  1. I would pull a wheel and slip the new one on to see how it fits. Spin it to see if it hits the caliper. As for the tires, I use Tire Rack’s info. Pull up a tire you are interested in and look at the specs. That will tell you the diameter as well as wheel width they should be used on. On the splice connectors, I don’t think they should have a place on any vehicle. I solder my connections and use adhesive-lined heat shrink over the joint. And I don’t have connection problems, now or later. As for the brakes, the calipers are supposed to slide to line up with the rotor. But the Bullnose ones don’t slide very well. My guess is that yours are frozen in place, causing it to wear the pads badly. And maybe cause them to grab. But the rear brakes can also cause pulling. Had brake fluid gotten on the lining of the shoes? That will certainly cause one to grab. Or maybe they aren’t adjusted evenly?
  2. I’m in the “it’ll go away” camp. The clutch plate will wear into the clutch disk/pressure plate and the flywheel as you drive it. But you can hasten it by slipping the clutch a bit. Not a lot or you can burn it. But a bit.
  3. We’ve not been to that camp, but we have been to the lake. I have a framed pic I took of sailboats on that lake.
  4. Whatever gasket you use, don’t coat it in RTV and then torque it down. Wet RTV is an excellent lubricant and the gasket will ooze out from under the cover. So if you use RTV let it set up overnight before torquing it down. But Jim’s suggestion of gluing a cork gasket to the cover works well. It’ll even hold the cork/rubber gaskets.
  5. Looks like a good plan, Bill. But I’d think the bed liner would seal any pinholes.
  6. Has a raspy sound. 👍
  7. Wonderful! Looks great. But how 'bout some pics where you've been camping?
  8. When you are creating a post you can click the Preview Message button and see the pics you've uploaded. And, you are now on the map.
  9. Welcome! Glad you joined. Where's home? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we can add you with a city/state or postal code. Post some pics! And maybe start a thread on each of the trucks? It is cool that your son is involved. That will make it special. But we strive hard to be family friendly, so you might consider having him join.
  10. Looks great, but did you shred that wire wheel on that one part? Or is that the result of doing many parts? And at some point you might consider an air compressor and a media blast cabinet. That combo makes cleaning parts easier and gives a texture to the parts that the paint adheres to nicely. But it is a slippery slope. Then you'll want a powder coating system so you don't have to paint things.
  11. Which backup camera did you choose? I ask because I'm looking for a system for Big Blue (Camera System For Big Blue), but I need both a front and rear camera and they need to be weatherproof. So, what system did you use and how do you like it? How easy is it to view things in the mirror?
  12. Final answer from Wolfbox: I think she doesn't understand that there's nothing to "detect". Either a camera is there and is feeding a video signal or isn't. But I can't educate her, so am going to tell her thanks and drop it with Wolfbox. However, at least she responded. So far Pormido hasn't even responded.
  13. I like Moog and Dana u-joints. And the Rock Auto catalog is pretty good for figuring out which ones fit. Go here, which should take you to the u-joint selections for your 1986 F250 w/a diesel and see the part numbers and sizes. But you'll have to measure what you have to ensure you get the right ones. Then, armed with the part numbers, you can order from RA or even Amazon.
  14. I hope it works! Please let us know and I'll capture that info for others to use.
  15. That's a bummer! But those shouldn't be standard hardware-store bolts. They should be "place bolts": So you need to find the correct replacement to ensure they don't back out.
  16. Yes, "customer disservice" seems to be a better moniker. Having said that, Wolfbox customer service has good reviews online. But that is apparently if you ask them questions for which there are easy answers. However, ask them a question for which they have no script, like "Can I get an extra rear-view camera and graft it into the in-vehicle camera's connector", they can't answer. We will see if Pormido can/will answer that question as they appear to sell the same kit. So here's where I am. I like the PORMIDO 12” Mirror Dash Cam with Detached Front Camera as it is 12" wide, has inputs for the weatherproof rear camera and a windshield-mounted front camera, and a switch on it to toggle between the two inputs. And they sell a PORMIDO New Backup Camera for D50 PR998 with Rear Cam Cable Plug into 2 in 1 Cameras Connect Cable. So if they don't get back with me on my email in a week or so I think I'll order the mirror and extra camera and use jumpers to connect the camera to the mirror to prove it'll work. When that works, like I'm sure it will, I'll cut the connectors off the rear-camera's cable and graft the front camera's connector on to it. That will let me plug the 2nd camera into the front input and I'll have everything I'm looking for - weatherproof cameras on the front and the back and an easy way to toggle between them. And by adding the PORMIDO GPS Antenna for PORMIDO Mirror Dash Cam PR996 PR998 it'll record the GPS locations as I travel. Plus I'll need the PORMIDO Hardwire Kit for PR996,PR998,D50 Mirror Dash Cam, Low Voltage Cut-Off for Vehicle Battery Protection to connect the unit to power, which will ensure that it won't run the battery down. That way I'll have collision detection and recording while the truck is parked.
  17. Amen! Especially those which have been sitting D-shaped.
  18. Beautiful pic! And the exhaust has a sweet sound.
  19. I have all of the TSB's - in print format. But don't have them all scanned so they aren't all on the site. Anyway, glad I could help.
