  1. Someone using the email address of worldpartsdirect01@gmail.com spammed us. I banned them and emailed the company to see what is going on. But unless they get back with us to apologize and explain how that has been corrected, I strongly urge us to boycott this sleazy company.
  2. Looks modern compared to our trucks. I assume it has MAF & SEFI EFI? And auto-locking hubs?
  3. There is some Glidden stuff in there. 600+ inch big block builds, all the specs on C302 heads, SVO parts to build a street boss replica etc. Very cool stuff. Believe it or not they even had forged piston offerings for 351M and 400 engines. The biggest thing I found was actually inaccurate info on the 351M/400 (surprise) where they said nothing but the heads interchange. That's partially incorrect. Weird! Everything but the cranks and pistons interchange between the 351M & the 400.
  4. Yes! See the page at Documentation/Cooling Systems/Thermostats. And that has a link to the 351M/400 page IIRC that has pics.
  5. 158,000 of those miles are mine. They tend to rack up faster now since I have a 40 mile round trip drive to work, but I'm aiming to see how long I can keep the old girl going. Not sure there's much for me to use in a 1996 owner's manual. I think I have a 1986 owner's manual, which is what my drivetrain is based off of (with exception to the 1356 T-Case). We have both the 86 owners and operators guides on the site. As for the mileage, 40 x 5 x 50 is 10,000/year. That’s not all that much.
  6. I might have to farm that out. But I'm willing to try if you'll send it to me.
  7. Bummer! Sorry about the tach. As for the temp gauge, if the factory gauge worked then having another gauge after the thermostat wouldn't be an issue. But I believe you need at least one gauge monitoring the engine's temp, and after the 'stat wouldn't show engine temp if the 'stat were to stick closed. I have both the factory and the aftermarket gauges ahead of the 'stat on Big Blue.
  8. That’s a horse of another color. How many pages? What size are the pages?
  9. I think you said on FB that it is loose-leaf. If so I can easily scan it as my scanner has a sheet-feeder and scans both sides in one go. So yes, I'd love to scan it and put it on the site.
  10. I think for about $30K you can get one, Angelo. And you'll have another truck to boot.
  11. Cool! Getting all of those details worked out is great. And glad you figured out about the t-case being in neutral. That had to be very concerning.
  12. That's a lot of miles, Shaun. As for documentation, glad you can use it. How 'bout a '96 owner's manual? I have 209 of the 420 pages of Bill's '96 manual scanned, and hope to finish tomorrow.
  13. Thanks to Bill/85lebaront2 we now have the 1996 F-Series Maintenance Schedule booklet on site. It shows in the spreadsheet on the Documentation/Manuals & Literature page. And since that's the year front axle and transmission I have...
  14. Thanks, guys. I'm finding I can do computer things, albeit slowly. Maybe get some scanning work done?
  15. It actually isn't a bad price. And it looks straight with no rust that I saw.
  16. Thanks, guys. Don't know how long it'll take to heal, but the big bandage stays on another 36 hours. It curtails "work" and makes typing S.L.O.W. Then I can probably go to one Bandaid over the end and one around the finger to hold it on, and I might be able to do things. But that puts it to Thanksgiving, and I certainly am and will be, and then Janey's cousin's reunion at our house. So "work" is a week away.
  17. It's always tough to get reservations at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground. When we went last summer we got reservations 2 months in advance and could only get Monday night through Thursday night. Weekend nights were non-existent. This trip was scheduled a LONG time ago, I think actually even pre-Covid, so we had our pick. But there weren't very many empty sites while we were there, and none of them was empty for more than one night. But yes, camping has gotten more popular with the pandemic. We really noticed it in 2020 when people couldn't go anywhere else, it was hard to get campground reservations anywhere. And finding outdoor recreational equipment was just as nuts. A friend of mine owns a boat shop. Even if his supply chain was working at its normal level he'd still be sold out. People want to do things, and for a long time it's been hard to do anything indoors. The winterizing wasn't that bad. We got home about 5:00 so I had time, it just made for a busy evening unpacking and then winterizing. It was still above freezing for a few hours after I finished. KC added about 100 miles to the trip, so definitely not "on the way." But looking at it another way, I wouldn't have hesitated to drive 50 miles each way to go to a "local" junkyard to get a rust-free (I hope) tailgate, so it certainly wasn't a ridiculous detour. And we went to Moab Utah in 2019 and 2021, hitting Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. We're loving Utah and thought we might try to hit Zion and/or Bryce Canyon National Parks and try fourwheeling around Sand Hollow State Park on this trip. I'm going to have to get BB out to Utah. Been there several times for boating or just sightseeing, including those parks, and loved it. Haven't stopped at Sand Hollow, but it looks like fun.
  18. Well, the work on BB is going to be on hold for a bit. That's 'cause I put my finger into the grinder today. It isn't too bad, as nothing is broken and it didn't get into the bone. But it hurt a bunch and bled profusely. The bandage stays on for 48 hours, which prevents doing much. I was grinding a piece of plate that was going to box in the front step mount just like I did on the rear, and it slipped and the finger hit the grinding wheel. Dumb! But the plan is to add the side plate and bottom angle to all of the mounts. That significantly strengthened the LR mount, so I'll finish that as and when I can.
  19. I hope the tach is fine and the problem is elsewhere. Good luck!
  20. Sounds like a fun trip! Glad the weather worked out pretty well for you. And the temps cooperated - having to winterize quickly is kind of scary. Been there, done that. KC? That seems way out of the way. Anxious to see what you got. Utah! Sounds like fun!
  21. The clutch systems don't bleed easily - even if they have a bleeder screw, and not all do. But if it does you can reverse bleed it by connecting a hose to the LF brake bleeder. That's courtesy Bill/85lebaront2.
