  1. On our page at Documentation/Driveline/Speedometer Gears & Cables you can see the illustration shown below, which is from the Driven Gear tab. As you can see, you are looking at the Type 2 and Type 2a. And then if you scroll down on that page you'll see that the transmission is shown on the left. The Type 2 appears to use PN C7, C8, or C9xx, which the Type 2a uses C0, C1, C2, C3, or C4xx. And, sure enough, the Type 2 seem to be used for automatic transmissions and 2a for manual transmissions.
  2. What a story, Stein! But our temp is 101F at the moment, and summer is really HERE! I, too, found the different fuel fittings confusing. But I used the Dorman tool to put them in the line and it worked pretty well. Didn't have any lines collapsing. Glad you finally figured out how to do it. But those are beautiful pics.
  3. There are only two bolts. One at the bottom and one at the top. And the best starter is a newer permanent magnet gear-reduction unit, called PMGR for short. Ford went to them in the 90's on all the engines. You can see a discussion of them on our page at Documentation/Electrical/PMGR Starter Wiring.
  4. LOL! I do try to re-use verbiage, but have to be careful not to call Vendor 2 by Vendor 1's name. And, by the way, I'm editing the posts where I explain what I've done to engage each vendor to include their responses. That should keep things together and keep the traffic down a bit. Today I went to the three auto parts stores in Skiatook, both to hang up flyers and to hit them up for "swag". Here's the results: Skiatook Auto Parts: Our member, DeWayne/93F3507.3, who runs the place, said he will ask the owner if he can donate a small tool kit. O'Reilly's: Talked with Aaron King, who may be joining as he has an '84 w/a 300. He said he will have the manager call me. Bumper To Bumper: Ron, the assistant manager, give me the detail kit shown below:
  5. That's a good idea! And if there's a way to put the 2x6 on edge it'd be even more rigid.
  6. Sent this message to SEM via the "Contact Us" selection on their webpage:
  7. Man, that looks like WORK! But, it also looks like you've done well. And yes, I'd make a headache rack and maybe something that sits on the front bumper to support that end as I fear the rebar will droop and hit the truck on bumps. So if you put two rebar on, one on the left and one on the right, and lash them to the headache rack, you could prop the support on the front bumper and tie the rebar there as well. That way it can't go anywhere and then you could put the rest of the rebar on and lash them down. Or, put a piece of lumber on each side to tie the headache rack to the front support. Just make sure it is high enough to let you open the doors.
  8. I think as tires age the rubber gets harder and that makes knobby tires more noisy. So new tires are usually quieter and smoother.
  9. Looking good, Shaun. But those are serious tires. Are they noisy?
  10. EDIT: Here's the response I got back: Called the local 4WP and they answered "Toys For Trucks". Turns out they've changed their name. But Jared is still the manager and he's supposed to call me back.
  11. I just had a thought. What if the catalogs that I'm sure LMC will send us for the show on Sept 16th will have Farmboy60's truck on it? In fact, wouldn't it be fantastic if the truck could be here? I know it is a long way to Okiehoma from Georgetown, NY. But if Jeff can come from Canada's Quebec province ...
  12. If anyone can do it, you can. But it must be some kind of special sin to paint over Rosewood.
  13. On 8/21, having not heard I called RA on 608-661-1376. After listening to the preamble I pressed "3" for the receptionist. Unfortunately no one answered, even though I was well within their opening hours, and I had to leave a message for "Marketing". Apparently they don't have a receptionist as I tried calling several times today and it always said no one was available. But they gave me an option of typing in the person I'm trying to reach so I put in MAR for Marketing. Instead I got Mark's voice mail. Left him a message, but ... And this to Summit Racing via their email facility on their webpage: EDIT: Here's the response I got back:
  14. Called Anita today, 8/21, and found that she passed my email on to Carol Martin. So I sent her this message: And I got this back from Carol: And this to RockAuto Marketing : On 8/21, having not heard I called RA on 608-661-1376. 15. EDIT: Having not heard back I sent this today, Aug 19th, to info@broncograveyard.com - On Monday the 21st I got the following back: And I've emailed Pat as well. And this one to Anita Parks : Called Anita today, 8/21, and found that she passed my email on to Carol Martin. So I sent her this message: And I got this back from Carol:
  16. EDIT: Having not heard I sent this today, Aug 19th - On Monday, 8/21, Darrin replied with "We gotcha in-queue and I'm certain marketing will hook you up with a package!" And later Monday, the 21st, the package came in: T-shirts: 2 XL's and 1 XXL (What are they saying about Ford truck guys? ) Catalogs: 10 1948-79 & 10 1980 - 96 60 flyers that say you can get a free catalog And this one to info@broncograveyard.com: EDIT: Having not heard back I sent this today, Aug 19th, to info@broncograveyard.com - On Monday the 21st I got the following back: And I've emailed Pat as well.

  18. Sent this note to LMC just now: EDIT: Got this back from Tyler at 8AM on the 25th - "Thanks Gary. I will get some LMC swag sent out a week or two prior to the scheduled event."
  19. I think the color is green. Looks to be the same as mine. I don't think we have a step-by-step, but I did record how I did it to some extent in this post. That shows pics of the gear as well as a tool I made to hold the yoke in order to torque the nut back on. And you can find the torque at Documentation/Driveline/Transfer Cases and the BW1345 tab and then either the Ford's Repair Procedures or Borg-Warner Service Manual tab. And this chart seems to say the gear has 6 teeth, which is what I count on mine although some have said I can't count.
  20. Welcome! Glad you joined. Where's home? I ask because we have a map (Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu) and we can add you with a city/state or zip. Who knows, you might be a neighbor.
  21. Bedlinered in the right colors? Sounds expensive. But the truck looks good save for that. Appears to have had a CB unit at one point as I see a PL259 connector hanging below the dash. And I see power window and lock switches as well as A/C, or at least Comfort Vent outlets in the dash. But can see the gauges well enough to see if there is a tach, but the truck is highly optioned.
  22. I don't know of one, but maybe others do. I'll sit back and watch to see what they say.
  23. Welcome! Glad you joined. Want to be on our map? You can see it at Bullnose Forum/Member's Map in the menu. As for the truck, it looks like it has good bones but needs a little TLC. Should be a good project.
  24. Yes, it was as easy as that for me. But make 100% sure you get that nut tight enough as it is what sandwiches the drive gear between two parts and if the nut isn't tight the gear will slip. DAHIK. You can pull the driven gear out and look at the drive gear through the hole. That should tell you what you have, color wise. But counting the teeth is an art. As for the t-case, it looks like Big Blue's twin so you have a BW1345. Look closely in the wedge-shaped recess next to the rear output opening and you'll find it says Borg Warner 13-45.
