  1. Wow! That thing is gorgeous. And it certainly is worth quite a bit of money.
  2. I have quite a few things, some good and some not so. Given what everyone is bringing we need to think about how we manage it. One option is to have everyone put their stuff in the bed of their truck. But then they need to always be there to make deals, answer questions, and ensure the parts don't grow legs. Another option is to have a central area where we put all the stuff and have one or two people manage it. But then everything has to be tagged with whose it is and what the price is. The church has tables we could use if we want to go this way. Thoughts?
  3. If that is what they are, then yes...lol. Little black sliding "switch" in the middle of the door card. I thought they all had the regular door locks like my 84. Learn something new every day;). See my writeup here: Interior/Doors/Door Locks.
  4. No, I didn’t hear from anyone about the truck. And I wrote such a nice note. (Makes me want to snag these pics w/o asking. ) As for those “switches”, are you talking about the door lock sliders?
  5. Yipes! You are into a complex and expensive area. For info, I have several pages on the fuel system parts, but I have them laid out poorly, so here's what I think you need: Fuel Systems/Fuel System Illustrations/1985 & on F-Series Fuel Systems/Fuel System Part Numbers/Fuel Tank Selector Valves In the first link you'll see an illustration, towards the bottom, for 1985/87 F150/350 - 6 CYL. 300 (4.9L), 8 CYL. 302 (5.0L) & 351W (5.8L) UNDER 8500 GVW - WITHOUT E.F.I. I think that's the right illustration - assuming you have dual tanks. And, if so, the part I think you worked on is 9189. Right? If so, that's the fuel tank selector valve, as shown in the 2nd link. And, I'll bet the check valves were to ensure fuel is only returned to the tank from which you are running. So, w/o the check valves you may find that fuel returns to both tanks, and you could easily overflow one.
  6. Ok, several things. First, I'm disappointed in LMC because I ran into this same problem probably 5 years ago, and called them and explained what the problem was with their parts. Obviously they've not fixed it. I think I was able to get the parts elsewhere, but will have to figure out where that was. However, you might be able to find NOS parts if you had the full part number. Full part number? Yeah, the #'s you have (358979-S, 7517 & 7B545) are just the base part number. For instance, a throwout bearing for any Ford vehicle in the world is #7548. But in order to get the full part number for your specific vehicle you have to add a prefix, which tells when it was designed and for what vehicle line, and a suffix, which tells which iteration it is. So, a throwout bearing for a 1987 F250 w/a 460 and a ZF5 would be F0TZ 7548-A. I have a chart (Driveline/Clutches & Linkage) that is intended to give the full part numbers. But, it didn't have your entries. It does now. So, perhaps you can find them?
  7. Welcome, Jamie! Certainly glad you joined. Tough luck on the fire. What caused it? And, what did it burn up?
  8. For the shifter to do a figure 8 it would seem like multiple mounts would have to be bad. I suppose that's possible, but it seems unlikely. And that leaves the tranny itself, and more specifically the snap ring. But, I'd doubt that it just worked loose. So has it been this way from the start, or did it start recently?
  9. Neat find. I've done some work trying to interpret them: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/build-sheet-interpretation.html. And the cowl seal looks good.
  10. The 460 didn't come back until '83. So that one should be a 351M. But, I would have thought an F350 would have gotten a 400. Lots of "stuff" there. Wonder how much of it works?
  11. There's a sorta hidden page on the website regarding manual transmissions. You get there via Driveline/Transmissions/Manual Transmissions and clicking on Manual Transmissions twice. (I know, it is odd. ) Anyway, I hadn't been on it for a while and didn't realize that several things were broken on it. What I'd done is take the transmission application chart from the master parts catalog and turned it into a spreadsheet that I can sort. Then I sorted it by year, model, and transmission so you can have different views of it. Unfortunately I'd broken some links on my Google Drive and things went away. But, today I fixed it and updated the pages. See what you think. Any suggestions?
  12. I think I need just one side, but dunno which it is. Hope to get to the shop in a bit and will check. But it broke in half at the screw hole. And it is the 80-83 "bordello" red.
  13. Ok, we will take what we can get. On Mon, Sep 10, 2018 at 7:01 AM Ray Cecil [via Bullnose Enthusiasts] <redacted_email_address> wrote:
  14. Looking forward to seeing you and your whole family on Saturday! And, you may get to meet our daughter (Holly), grandtwins, and SiL as they are dropping by.
  15. Gary, I have a few cruise horn pads stashed away. Most are the Econoline type with the horizontal oak wood grain and trumpets at the ends of the horn bar, but I may have a decent burl wood one still. I will have to investigate. I assume that the A and B pillar covers you need are for Big Blue and need to be the headliner type? I wish I had known (or remembered) that you needed these. Arizona is obviously in the UV belt, but I have passed up some good interior plastic since I didn’t know of anyone who needed it. I want to pack rat it all, but for one I can’t afford it, and for another I am finding that a lot of my junkyard hoarding is backfiring on me. I don’t have good enough storage and many things are getting ruined from weather or physical damage in haphazard piles. I may actually have extra A pillar covers but my mental inventory is murky. If I come across good trim I will let you know. Chris, what color of seat belt web are you looking for? Black or color keyed? Is the male buckle the flat kind or the one with the plastic cover? Actually, the A-pillar trim is for Dad's truck. One of the pieces broke at a screw hole. But, since I'll be painting everything color isn't a big concern. On the horn pad, I need to look to see what I have as well. I haven't as the pad broke just before we left for The Baltic and I've been ill since getting home. (Better today though.) Thanks!
  16. I don't know, but there's a ZF troubleshooting document here: Driveline/Transmissions/Manual Transmissions/ZF5.
  17. I don't think it is flipped as you can read the label on the t-case. But I'm really confused.
  18. Good. So, did grounding it kill the ignition?
  19. Here's another source: https://www.fillernecksupply.com/1980-1981-1982-1983-1984-1985-1986-ford-f-series-stepside-outer-fuel-filler-hose-front-tank/
  20. Oops! Sorry! Did you get the magic smoke back in?
  21. Welcome! But why wait until winter to read? This forum is different than many in that you have to subscribe to get notifications of posts. Outlined here: http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/Subscriptions-td9735.html. And w/o subscribing it'll look like very little is going on. Another way is to click on Topics View, which will bring up the threads that have the most recent posts, in chronological order.
  22. Not your fault. You tried and spent your time, so thanks to you.
