  1. That is very helpful, Jonathan. Do you mind if I use that info on a page in the documentation section? Easier to find it than in a thread.
  2. Sounds like a plan, just need to find the wire I need to mess with... And what the heck these disconnected wires go to. If you'll determine the wire colors, as best you can, that go to each connector I'll see if I can figure something out from the 1996 EVTM. But tell me what wires go to each connector, and give me an end-on shot of the connector as there are some drawings of connectors in the book. As for cleaning the wires, I'm using brake cleaner on a towel. Doesn't seem to hurt the insulation and does a far better job of cleaning it than anything else I've used.
  3. I like it, but I have a fundamental issue with paying $35 for something and then $30 for shipping.
  4. Well, I don't see that part number, E0TZ 9K014-D, on our new page: Documentation/Fuel Systems/Fuel Systems Part Numbers/Fuel Tank Shields. (I really need to rationalize that section! ) Am I missing it? This is the whole of the MPC's listing.
  5. Yes, but in theory only for the '85 and later trucks. I don't know how the earlier relay is different.
  6. I think you are exactly right - it is part of the in-bed spare tire carrier - the part that goes against the wheel with the wing nut going against it. Gonna be 'spensive to piece together the whole system that way.
  7. Amen, brother! I was part of the discussion on FTE that resulted in deciding to call these trucks Bullnose, as explained on the Bullnose FAQ's page. But I didn't vote for "Bullnose". I actually voted for "Bricknose".
  8. Yes, you ARE up waaaaay too early! But those are nice and priced reasonably given the amount of work to get them off. And my notes say they fit Windsors:
  9. Jonathan - I was just pleased to hear/see from you. I know you have your plate full. But, I'll confess that I don't know all of the differences between the transmissons. So when the MPC "4 O/D" and "Clark trans" I don't know which one(s) that is. Was there only one 4-speed overdrive then? Wasn't there the SROD and the top-loader? I'm asking, I don't know.
  10. One of my spare dashes had a cigarette lighter in the port and the cover closed. So I'd bet that it'll close over that as it does look shorter. So the 12v port with a USB-A & C charger looks to be the most universal and the charger can be changed out later for the next whizzbang thing that comes along.
  11. I hope your trip goes really well and you and your wife have fun.
  12. It was an option on these trucks. But note that the part # is from '83. So there had to have been an earlier version if they were options on the 1980 - 82 trucks. (I could climb the microfiche tower if we really wanted to know.)
  13. Right. But does the fact that he gets an error seemingly randomly mean he has a broken wire or a bad connection? That would certainly cause firing issues. Ran KOER test about 10 times trying to get it to do an engine balance test. I would say I got the codes 3/10 times. 213(SPOUT) and 225 (knock sensor) codes always posted together. Definitely worth checking the wiring. Battery tested "good" (50%) with CCAs set at 675, until I adjusted the CA to the number on the label then it failed the test. I wonder if the SPOUT glitching could cause a backfire that would set off the knock sensor?
  14. What?! F350 with a SROD? Hey, where you been? Yes, that's what it says. But, I'll bet it is a mistake.
  15. I agree. I've not seen anything in the documentation that would fit that blower's description.
  16. On another subject, this web page has an interesting story about the lions on the hood ornaments on many Ford vehicles, including some of the trucks since the the ornament was an option.
  17. 1995 I think the o-ring is gone. I have the '96 EVTM. May be the same wiring.
  18. Right. But does the fact that he gets an error seemingly randomly mean he has a broken wire or a bad connection? That would certainly cause firing issues.
