  1. Gary, this is the right move… for US guys. We, poor foreign Bullnose owners, don’t have access to Bluetop. They are only shipping within the United States.
  2. I would answer as others, it depends of your usage. For Big Bro, I hesitated and finally decided to change the old vinyl for new vinyl (plus sound mattress), and I’m glad I didn’t go for carpet. Despite our forum friends teasing , Big Bro is really a farm truck. Having said this, I realize that the first factory accessory I buy for each of my new vehicles is always a good and well molded floor mats kit. Carpet is so well protected that I can’t even tell its color… Finally, in all cases, depending of my usage… it ends vinyl.
  3. Paul - Looks like we have similar growing humidity phenomenon here too. My hay provider complains he has difficulty to harvest since couple of years (farmers family since 100 years). It’s difficult to have more then 3 sunny consecutive dry days. Not necessarily huge flooding, but constant and regular rain sequences. But despite those observations, it’s difficult to accept that brand new parts begin to rust so fast (mirror lower brackets). The upper brackets don’t have this problem.
  4. For the front bezels, it really looks like a coating. I scrubbed with a compound for metallic surfaces I had here, and it can be removed. But it takes forever for just this small surface… Anyway, I emailed LMC with details, let’s wait and see what they’ll answer.
  5. Hi people, Less than two years after installed, some new LMC chromed parts began to show some weaknesses. 1- Bottom mirror arm bracket began to show little rust spots (both driver an passenger sides). The upper brackets are ok. I can clean the little rust points, but they come back. 2- On the front truck bezels, the upper and lower metal strips began to fade out, I mean the chrome is goin “white”. I tried to clean it, nothing works. Looks like kind of protective coating that was factory applied. Remember that Big Brother never goes on salted roads, and the only water that falls on is when I wash and clean him. He sits in a well vented and not heated garage, not exposed to sun, snow or rain. The problem seems to accelerate this year. These are the only 4 chromed parts I have issue with. Thoughts?
  6. In french «cash» money is called argent «liquide». In english, there is kind of similarities with the terminology «cash flow» and «liquidity». I heard it comes from old Italian expression “liquido”, but I like to imagine it refers to the expensive liquid we pour in our trucks tanks.
  7. Yessir! No «dry-carb-bowl-syndrome» these days, starts like a young sport car.
  8. A special situation forced Big Bro to hit the road as a daily drive vehicle for the week. My Chevy Volt is at the paint shop (needed some refresh, after 6 years on the Salt Kingdom roads). Big Bro is happy to go to office.
  9. Well, I'm continuously learning new things here, thanks! Sincerely, I would have bet that this was a nice DIY job done by a brilliant and resourceful amateur. But an OEM designed by an engineer... We had a humoristic SciFi comedy here, called "Dans une galaxie près de chez vous". Their vessel was such a can. Probably designed by the same engineering team?

  11. Turn up that new bass speaker and fuggetaboutit
  12. Thanks Gary, clear and precise, as usual.
  13. Ok, thanks Gary for the advice. Are there different models of LRC, I mean does my 3G needs specific type? Or, are they all the same kind?
  14. Larry, there is also this kind of bulk slide sold in roll, but I don’t know if it is as slippery as the rigid ones. Not sure this is a good idea… Last time I tried to work on the trailer while keeping the boat on was almost a disaster. I’ll never try this again…
  15. Yep! I am still humbly wondering if it’s the whole country celebrating me each year. Just got an email from Bob (Rocketman’s CCInnovations), he’ll ship my voltmeter next week. So, my 1G-3G swap will be a summer vacations project, somewhere between July 22nd and August 8th. In the meanwhile, should I right now order a Voltage Regulator with LRC, or should I wait and see if I’ll have belt slipping? Thoughts?
  16. I think I took this picture right at the same place:
  17. For weather strips, I went with LMC. https://www.lmctruck.com/door-components/door-glass-parts/fd-1980-96-door-glass-and-components https://www.lmctruck.com/body-components/exterior-rubber/fd-1980-96-hood-door-and-window-rubber
  18. I fully agree. Matter of time. Stripping doesn’t take so much time. But in my case, considering family and job, it took me several weeks to reinstall everything. So, matter of time… and patience. And at the end, it’s also matter of pride.
  19. The two times I did a serious new paint job for my vehicles, I took off everything I could, so there can’t be any "hidden" spot. One was a Jetta in 1996, and Big Brother in 2019-20. - Weather stripping; - Fender aprons; - Windows and windshield; - Moldings, fuel door; - Bezels, lights. And if you paint the interior… well I stripped everything.
  20. Gary, I downloaded the "Air Inlet" PDF. Interesting, thanks!
  21. Nathan - Didn’t see if you introduced yourself at the « New Members » thread, if you didn’t you should take a minute and write a bit about you there. About your question, not sure I understand… Are you looking for this bezel? If so, salvage yards, or eBay have some, different colors.
