  1. http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/uploads/6/5/8/7/65879365/laughing-25-x-25_orig.gif Well, for much less, a behind seat organizer holds much more tools…
  2. Right. The last one, for me: —> Bullnose Truck Enthusiasts Club. With an “s”. W’all happy to be here with you.
  3. Do you think we can swap original sun visors on these new arms? Big Brother’s original arms are quite “slack”, the sun visors don’t stay in place. But I would prefer to keep the original ones, so maybe just swap the arms…
  4. Ok, so voting «Bullnose Truck Enthusiast Club» is in fact voting Gary’s Club! Nice try, it was subtil but sorry, you’re caught Gary.
  5. Lol! Having front wheels touching ground enough for steering it? Big Bro uses to slowly tow a manure trailer, once a month. He probably drinks 12 gpm while doing his duty. Sometimes we hit the road, mostly highways, with some streets and small roads ride too. Average 12,3 mpg. Without heavy load.
  6. I actually held off voting at first, because all of the choices seemed a bit awkward. I like this one, I just worry the poll won’t give it a fair shake since the actual name being voted for is buried in the comments. I am, in fact, not a fan of any of the Bible reference names. I CHANGED MY VOTE !! I finally chose to vote for «Bullnose Truck Enthusiast Club». But, if this choice happens to win, we’ll probably need a second round polling, in order to decide who’s gonna be THE enthusiast… or to add an “s”.
  7. Hello, here's the Dummy. I'm lost. To Qualify c/7 or Not To Qualify c/7, this is The Question.
  8. LOL! Larry, you’re right and let’s say that there’s couple or other things we call “bullnose” in architecture. But I think this description should stay in the title, since it is the nickname of this 7th Ford trucks generation. About this “truck” word, I too consider it is Bronco inclusive, but I can be wrong. I voted to keep the “enthusiasm” side or our membership. It involves the “active” status of members, it’s moving, it suggests kind of fun and happiness. Ok, sorry, maybe I’m too enthusiastic… 😉 That’s why I find Paul’s proposal interesting: Bullnose + Truck + Enthusiasts + Club. It has all we need, and no possible confusion about some architectural nosing. If it was in the polls choices, I would change my vote.
  9. Jim, I hope you'll get out fast, take care and please, no need to hurry. 🙏
  10. On the farm, during winter time, I use a Propane Tankless Water Heater hooked to my pressure washer (when I have to fight against some ice accumulation). It works well, although I never used it to wash a vehicle.
  11. The good side of a “greasy” truck is that there’ll be probably no rust to discover while cleaning it.
  12. Wow, thanks so much Sir. Can’t wait to rebuild Big Brother’s C610! Plug’n play is quite difficult when the plug is gone… Yep, absolutely! Went to visit one of my sons this weekend (360 miles from here), Big Bro drove like a champ. When we came back home (01:00 AM), your harness was at the door, Gary. So, I think the last piece I need is the Ammeter transformed in Voltmeter, and then I’ll proceed to 3G swap. Meanwhile, I’ll rebuild the C610 connector, using your harness.
  13. If we talk about the Kenly 95 Truckers Jamboree, it is this weekend.
  14. We don’t want delay (in general, 2024 people are a bit hurry), so canned answering is OK. But I think to limit posting in the NMSH is a good process. This can be the spam “custom control”, which requires a human allowance (and good welcome words) before going further in forum postings. Is it possible with InVision?
  15. Hiking with family today. This old bridge is wood made! Fir hunting prohibited:
  16. If you call at my office, there’s a lady answering. I once had an automated answering system, but I hate it. IMHO, there’s nothing like being welcomed by a real human. This Forum has friendly and family aspects that make it different. If every step is automatic, I think we’ll lose something really important. If we’re losing the introduction step such as «Hi Jeff, welcome among us, nice truck, where are you, tell us more about your project, what’s your problem, what can we do to help you», we’re losing an essential hand-shake. Being member of a communication community is a step below being among people.
  17. In fact, each time I drive Big Bro on a highway, I am wondering about what Bullnose engine needs a 6000rpm tach. Really?
  18. I think a majority of used available gasoline clusters w/tach are 6000rpm model. That’s the one I installed in Big Bro (the truck didn’t have). Since Big Bro is geared as a farm tractor (or a battle tank), I rarely reach 3200rpm.
  19. This is one of the major reasons I enjoy being here. I learn so much things I don’t have to do myself, just for the fun of learning (secretly hoping I’ll never have to. ). Thanks Jon for this thread about a job you maybe didn’t have to do.
  20. First, do you need the automatic transmission indicator? There are plenty, with or without this indicator, on ebay. I used the eBay criteria«1980-81 f-series bronco cluster tach» and got multiple results. Would say around 250$. Just be sure to avoid « diesel » or « 1980 » units. 1981 to 1986, gasoline truck or Bronco, should work. Red printed circuit behind.
  21. I think that emphasize and highlight the contribution for the time given by some members to help others and generously share their knowledge is a nice idea. But, personally, I suggest that money contribution should stay discreet, big donators don’t need to be under the spotlight. Nobody has to feel “cheap” for a small donation. Any dime will be welcome, big or small. This is not a popularity contest…
  22. Nan, Big Bro has only the side tank. And I didn’t do it myself, I asked my garage if he had time do to it while the truck was up for the summer tires swap. He charged me half an hour for the job, everything went easy. When I left Big Brother at the garage, it was so empty that it ran out of gas just going out of the garage. Is it becoming a habit, Big Bro…? 🧐
  23. I finally fixed the issue. It was the fuel tank sending unit. We never had an accurate fuel gauge since we own Big Bro. So I didn’t really trusted this float, and I tested the gauge accuracy. Verdict: There no “reserve” or warning. When it shows “empty”… it is. I ran out of gas.
